‘Real Housewives’ Sheree Whitfield and her attorneys have dropped a divorce appeal after coming to the conclusion that her ex-husband really is broke.
According to Sheree’s attorney, the former NFL player hasn’t paid child support in 15 months and still owes Sheree $350,000.
In their 2005 divorce trial, a Fulton county judge awarded Sheree custody of the couple’s two children, $2,142 a month in child support, a lump sum payment of $775,000 in cash and shares of four NFL retirement accounts.
Bob Whitfield, 37, was awarded the family’s $2.4 million, 5,900-square-foot home in Sandy Springs and his recording studio, in addition to other properties.
To date, Whitfield has paid $425,000 of the $775,000 owed. But Sheree quickly ran through that money and found she could not maintain the lifestyle she felt she deserved on just $2,142 a month.
But Whitfield’s lawyer, Christopher Olmstead, complained that Sheree was wasting the court’s time with a frivolous lawsuit. He requested she be ordered to pay his attorney fees plus penalties. “This is an affront to the court,” Olmstead said.
Sheree and her attorneys dropped the appeal now that Whitfield’s mansion is in foreclosure and scheduled to be sold on the courthouse steps.
Sheree’s attorney claimed the divorce appeal was filed for legitimate reasons but the issue is now moot because Whitfield is broke. (LINK)

Um. Chick needs to have her own means of getting money. She could have took $30K of that $400K+ that she got and went and got a degree from GSU or something. At least then she’d have some earning potential.
This is why women (or anyone for that matter) should not depend solely on another person to provide for you… especially the type of lifestyle chick is perpetrating. Or at least learn from Shauni O’neal and put some up and flip some more!!!!!
Get it for yourself and let your man compliment you with what he’s getting. Don’t base your goals and hopes in the actions and possessions of another human; whether intentional or not…they could disappoint.

Although they called DeShawn boring she does have something to fall back on. She has her B.S. and is working on a Masters. Although we know she will probably have money for most (if not the rest of her life) she will always have that to at least put on an application. I really wonder how the second season will be and if all of these so called “wealthy” women will be able to continue their extravagant lifestyles.
The only reason this show was so attention grabbing was b/c Bravo knew these were not REAL rich/wealthy women rather, these were chicks that came into a lil money or whose gold diggin paid off. Real women of wealth don’t floss like this… they have funds in hidden accounts overseas and continue to work hard to keep that rich flow coming in.

A college degree doesn’t mean much in today’s job market, so perhaps thtlat’s not the step for Sheree.
If she used the sense God gave her, perhaps she could have made Bella Azul into an online boutique (to cut overhead costs) and a personal shopper business after all she can dress herself and (presumably) other people. Hell she could have started a blog and be making money off that too.
Anyways I don’t feel bad for Bob (why is he looking at me?!!!) Whitfield. He dated this conniving simpleton for years and still couldn’t discern the type of person she was? Then good for him. Men need to stop making bad decisions in women as well, (pick your mate based on character not just looks or sexual prowess) and half the drama would have been avoided if he picked a different woman in the first place.

I agree with whoever said that he can only give her what he has. I do agree that she is a gold digger. Yes he should take care of his kids but baby seems to want more than that. We saw how she lived on the show (supposedly lived) and she is trying to keep that image going. No I don’t think she should be in the projects, but come on. Clothes are clothes, food is food, and cars are cars. As long as she has clothes on her back, food to eat, and shelter she needs to be happy. She wants to drive a range and wear Gucci and spend $5g’s on a purse and that ain’t happening. So she needs to deal with it. She should be comfortable but if he is unable to provide that comfort level then she has to make due on her own, something that every woman should be able to do, especially a mother.

^^^ i agree. she could have stilled lived the lifestyle that she was used to , but she got greedy . IMO she is only thinking about herself and not the welfare of her kids. on the show all she talked about was herself and how she needed to be this and that.

I say she had an extremely generous divorce settlement. Really she should have just been reverted to the child support she should have been receiving before the marriage.
