DeShawn Snow Kicked Off ‘Housewives’ For Not Being Ghetto Enough
ESSENCE magazine confirms rumors that the only classy housewife on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” was kicked off the show because she wasn’t ghetto enough.
DeShawn Snow told Essence.com:
[One of the producers] called and said that I was “too human for a circus show” and that because the show did so well, they are about to pump up the drama and they didn’t think that I would fit in. He gave me an example, saying that during the reunion when I found out what a few of the other ladies said about me, they were expecting me to say more, but I’m not the type to go “television” and start acting crazy because somebody’s talking about me. I’m fine with the decision. It wasn’t my decision. They let me go and there are no hard feelings. I am thankful for the opportunity.
Now that’s real class! I knew there was something fishy about Lisa Wu’s erratic behavior on the Season Finale. Obviously she was forewarned that cuts were coming.
Much respect to DeShawn for maintaining her dignity and for being a role model for our daughters to look up to! DeShawn tried to bring some class and decorum to the show.
But when it comes to women of color, the TV networks don’t want class they want trash!
I hear that Frank Ski’s wife Tanya Ski was cast for the show’s 2nd season, but let’s hope that’s just a rumor. Tanya is much too classy for that show.

I felt the same way…when I first heard one of them wouldn’t be returning, I knew it would be her!! In my opinion, her and her hubbie were the only couple that actually had money!! They just didn’t have enough drama-a.k.a they were happy
damn, so the rumor was true! she brought much needed balance to that show…
Other than a few simple minded comments she made…I liked DeShawn alot! Oh well…maybe they are making room for her on Ne Ne’s show.

I didn’t even need to read your post as the title summed it up perfectly. She is way too normal for reality TV. All the other ladies had some kind of angle. She was a plain jane compared to the rest of the ladies. Keith Sweat’s ex is lucky to have looks and spunk on her side or she would be too boring as well.

Rumor has it they are trying to get Tameka Raymond to take her place. I didn’t get into the show until I kept reading about it dang near every day on blogs and happened to catch the last few episodes. Please believe that if Tamkeka was there I’d be on it like white on rice.

I’d definately watch as I am addicted to trifling ghetto reality shoes and these ladies would reign supreme. I can’t wait til Ray J’s show starts.
Her make-up and hair is on point.
I liked her very positive! Yes it’s trueshe didn’t have much drama. But the fun part was watching her trying to get everyone back together to talk about their differences.
I thought that she was a sweetie! Yeah, boring, but sweet and classy. I heard that Julius Irving’s wife was going to be on the show, though….

Tamara set up Gretchen, got her all sloppy drunk…and Tamara’s raggedy son was all over her. I hated to see that happen to Gretchen…but Lynne tried to stop her thirsty a$$
At least she is honest about why she was cut! - sad thing is she was one of the only wives that was truly boring - half the heffers are broke from the looks of everything that transpired after the show!

I mentioned this yesterday but they said they were trying to get Tameka. I agree that DeShawn was the only one on the show that was normal ie. not being all ghetto and that’s not what Bravo is looking for in “us” so they gave her the boot. Dang DeShawn, that was NeNe’s new dawg. It’s going to be too phony now because NeNe isn’t really friends with Lisa, Kim, or Sheree.
Who is Frank Ski? I thought the idea of the Housewives is that they all ran in the same circles and have some sort of relationship with each other. Who are they going to say she is friends with? I may not tune in until NeNe goes solo.
It’s not that she wasn’t “ghetto” enough but she has no personality and was just a waste of space.
I’m glad Deshawn kept it moving, I only watch that show for people to make themselves look stupid for my entertainment. And I don’t think that it’s just Black Women to make fools of themselves, look at Rock of Love and the second season of Charms school. Drama sells period and there are all to many who are willing to compromise themselves or their community image to get money for acting a hot mess.

DeShawn’s simple ass added nothing much to the show, in the way of drama or balance. She’s the most out of touch of them all. Everyone knows she’s barely in that marriage and Eric is choosing to stay away at this point. Good riddance to bad rubbish if you ask me.

I was not feeling DeShawn AT ALL! She belongs on the show “clueless”. She seemed very uneducated and materialistic at times. NO personality the 1st. Reading straight from the script. I’m not ready to give up on Usher yet. He had one bad album. Sales have shown them that they went in the wrong direction and I bet he will come with that fire the next time. Tameka being on the show could help his exposure.

I recently went to a Brian McKnight show. His concerts are really grown and sexy. I remember I went to one with him, D Angelo, and Tyrese…whew it was GOOD.
New Edition really works for their money too. I went to their last one with Genuwine, Jagged Edge, Donell Jones and KCi and JoJo. They were the best of the bunch but they all were good. K Ci acted a fool (this was right after Mary said that song was about him. He was going at Mary.

I love NE music (I guess it depends on if you grew up listening to them) because I swear their show was on point. Janet had the best show I’d ever seen until I saw Prince. He’s king! NE comes in 3rd IMO though. They break off and sing their own solo songs, and BBD too, it was crazy.

I don’t know when the show starts but the other chick is Joy Bounds who is back together with Lyfe Jennings. I doubt T.I. will let Tiny do the show. He doesn’t want her to have any money of her own.
