What the hell did I miss? Can I just say: *puts on spectacles and climbs on top soapbox* Being a mom is not easy. While this convo was going on, I was dealing with my oldest saying that yesterday (because most days I don't think he thinks about it) he wanted me and his dad to be "undivorced." Ladies, that broke my heart. But, what can we do? I'm technically a single parent, even though I'm betting that marriage proposal from Mr.Slim is coming at the end of Feb for our anniversary, but that doesn't matter to the outside world. I've been having to fight ever since my divorce happened. If you think being a single mom is bad, try being a single mom due to divorce. They see you as a bigger failure because they assume everyone will stick around for the kids, even if they are unhappy. So I will say this, A GOOD mom is a good mom. My mom was a single mom due to divorce, and I went off to college, and just have done everything I've wanted to do just by the grace of God and the drive He blessed me with. I never felt less deserving than kids in two parent homes because my mom worked too hard and loved me too much for me to feel that way. While I agree that kids need their fathers or a father figure, they really do, there is no need for women to rush into anything because it will be destined to fail.
