You need to school some of your users by doing a medical minute on fetal alcohol syndrome. The ones saying that a little alcohol is OK while pregnant are so wrong. My doctor emphasized that NO amount of alcohol is safe while you are pregnant. That is just old advice that doctor’s used to give patients a while back before the full affects of fetal alcohol syndrome were realized and now any doctor that advises their patients that a small amount of alcohol is OK can be considered negligent. Please ladies do your research. Any range of problems a child has can be caused by FAS. So, it is better to be safe than sorry. I LOVE your blog Sandra!

if you have a half glass of red wine that is actually ok.not everyday but lets say once or twice the most. by no means should you be throwing back red bull and vodka here or there. a glass of red wine especially toward the end is not life threatening. no alcohol is best but if you had a glass of red wine, its not serious.

Personally, I don’t intend on having kids so I can drink all day. Don’t mean to sound like I don’t care but hey…
As I said in the previous post, I’ve heard a few doctors say (recently) that a little wine won’t do harm. Of course this is taking into consideration if any medical issues are applicable and the individual situation. So I disagree that this is something they “used to say”.
But hey, I’m not pregnant so whatever! lol
forget wine… having a baby after 40 is dangerous by itself…. however i doubt this either way…but i can see them still trying for a Son.. lord knows i am (also have 2 girls)
We get two Obama posts in one day to comment on and it’s not even worth a comment. This is not going to do anything but divide the room.

Doctors have opinions, just like the rest of us, yes too much alchol can cause damage which is fact, but a glass of wine here and there is not going to harm the baby or your doctor saying one sip will is merely an opinion cause it has not been proven.

Listen, if your ass is a drunk, and you know if you’re a drunk or not, then you know that it is not nice to drink while pegnant. I think republicans need to get thier minds off of vaginas and chin-check your husbands and their gay romps and wifes whorish affairs.

I did not know this until last week. Maybe he does not like being a Jr. LOL.
What did I miss? Is Michelle pregnant?? If so, I SWEARRRRRRRRRRRR I just was thinking that last night. I was at the store and saw the first couple on the cover of Time mag. and it’s a pic of her watching him as he’s beeing sworn in. To me she had a look of pride, but also a I’mma ride the HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL outta this man tonightLOL!!!
I said I wouldnt be surprised if Michelle ended up pregnant sometime soon.

Now auntie you know that article did not say Michelle was pregnant. At least you keep us laughing.
When she wore the outfit that I did not care for at her husbands swearing in she looked pregnant to me. I have a outfit like that except the jacket is not that long and mine is a diff color. Neddless to say I’ve had the suit for a few years and only wore it once. It looked cuter on the rack and it does not make your stomach look like that. Michelle has always had a flat stomach.

I would say that my parents are going to help be the care givers and we need a new home a couple of mini vans and all the other freebies one gets for having a multiple birth delivery.

You read it wrong. Read it again.
umm Divine, the way I read your comments seems to imply that wine is not alcoholic? Now while there are some “wines” that are non alcoholic (fruit juice in a glass bottle) wine for the most part has content.
Some people drink copious amounts of alcohol during pregnancy and nothing happens to their child, other children aren’t so lucky, it’s really God’s grace that sees all these children through.
i’m sure michelle has the best prenatal advice available–her mother’s!! let the woman celebrate!

I would think she had them invtro also. That’s alot of babies without medical help. What doctor would perform such a task on a woman living with her parents who was alredy blessed with six kids. Did she have a husband and he changed his mind and she is now a single parent? I need more info. LOL. The only thing I know is she has 14 kids. Ouch. Went online and found this. It had the same thing I just typed.

I read she was on fertility meds, but thats changed. But i’m sorry, this is alll selfish of her IMO. 14 kids, and u live with your parents. After six kids, and living with your parents, you have no bizness looking to be knocked up. Granted, we don’t know alot of info about her, but it irked me when i read it. And the funny thing is, i don’t if u seen the ages of her kids….they aren’t exactly older, infact non of them are teenagers, she has a three year old, and 2 year old twins. The whole thing just reeks of selfishness. And no father?
And i could never have six kids, and live with my mama. And then have the nerve to come back one day and tell her that I’ve pregnant again…and oh with seven…. Pleaseeeee

if she is pregnant i don’t believe she would be knocking back shots of patron or anything everyday. she’s too smart of a woman to do something so irresponsible. i have also heard about the red wine thing. never been pregnant so i don’t know if it’s true or not .

I guess all of those women in France who drink wine all the time while they’re pregnant and don’t have the low birth weight problems we have…FAS, ADHD, ADD, none of that…I guess they’re wrong…
If you’re a healthy woman who eats right and takes care of herself…you can live your life…even if you are pregnant and a glass of wine from time to time is NOT going to hurt your baby…
The above would describe our First Lady perfectly!
The problem with women in this country…especially black women…is that we’re overweight ANYWAY…don’t exercise enough…ANYWAY…and we have so many underlying health problems ANYWAY (hypertension, diabetes, DVT, etc.)…that we can’t indulge in ANYTHING when we take on the task of having children…
So its better to just put that general warning out there and use fear as a tactic…
