Celebs Out & About: Notorious NYC Premiere (1/7)
Rapper Jamal Woolard, aka Gravy, played Biggie. I hear he did the best he could with his limited acting skills. Naturi Naughton played Lil Kim.
Singer Faith Evans attended with Biggie’s son, left, and her other kids.
Dr. Drew has all the pics from last night’s premiere of the Notorious B.I.G. biopic in NYC last night. I really don’t give this movie much hope at the box office based on the trailers that I’ve seen.
All the stars attended the premiere except for Lil Kim who objected to the film’s depiction of her.
Biggie’s mom Voletta Wallace did try to reach out to Lil Kim because she wasn’t aware that Kim endured such abuse at the hands of her son. She tells Essence magazine:
“I would love to speak to Lil’ Kim, because I need to ask more about this love relationship because I really didn’t like the way he treated her and I’m praying that that’s not it. Only she can answer those questions. She’s a sweet girl and I didn’t think she deserved to be treated the way he treated her, if that’s the case.”

Derek Luke played Sean Combs as best as he could.

Rapper Lil Mama trying her best to bring back the afro puff (let it go girl). I don’t know if Lil Mama appears in the film. But if she does, I’m sure she did the best that she could.

Mrs. Wallace needs to fall back and leave Kim alone. Don’t try and reach out to her now that you done went on radio (media) and made her out to be a jumpoff (which she was). Big is gone and all yall inc Kim is eating good off of his name. Leave her be.
By the way Faith’s book is good. I know I said it yesterday but it really is. Especially if you were apart of that era. They need to do a movie on Mary (the Queen of Hip Hop soul)

O.K, of course I am going to see the movie no matter how many negative reviews are given. Faith’s daughter is bigger than her now and cute. Lil Biggie is the perfect blend of his mommy and daddy, too handsome. Derek Luke looks yummy, and I love Mary’s jacket and boots. No comment on anyone else.

i think they all showed up look good. there was no body looking bad. jayz isnt a dress up kinda guy so u cant expect him to be. i might go to my momma n find my old school glasss. lol

There is something obscene about Angel Lola Luv being in the same room as Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance. I’m still looking forward to this movie. Miss Voletta really didn’t know her son was a ho? It was no secret.

Biggie Junior lucked out on the looks considering who his daddy is. But I think Faith might need to be a little more concerned about the fitness of her children as well as herself. If Lil Biggie is that size now, he gonna be huge by his 20′s.
@Teece Not saying Jay had to dress up(it is a hip hop movie after all) but doesnt he say he started the button down trend which is dressier than what he had on at the prem? I have seen him in a suit or two as well. Just saying.

If by swagger, you mean his walk then COSIGN ALL DAY. Derek Luke is trying to knock Denzel off his thrown with that sexy to the extreme tip of his. I don’t knock interracial marraiges, but he walk is so hood that I just can see him with a white woman. I hope she appreciates the sexiness of his hood swagger (walk).

I think Brandy could do Mary justice. She’s no slouch as an actress. I can’t think of an actor broke down enough to play K-Ci. T.I. has the bird chest but is too light and looks too clean. Maybe Lorenz is a good enough actor to pull off the crackishness.

I am going to go see the movie. And then I want to see the tupac movie.
I have faith evans book. It was a good read. She was open about the things she went through, but now I would like to hear lil kim’s side of the story, because faith wasn’t there all the times he was with lil kim. I think that would be a great book.
Oh, if anybody wants to borrow the book, email me. I don’t see myself re-reading this anytime soon.
