Last night I received an email from a rep of the rapper who took out a restraining order on big Shaq.

Alexis Miller, aka MaryJane has settled her differences with “big daddy” and she’s about to drop her album (I guess she got paid).

Here’s a track by rapper K.R.U.T.C.H featuring Mary Jane titled “Big Money”.

daisy mine was married for 12 years and she fought for twelve years until she divorced. my daddy is a excellent provider and he even cared for my older sisters that are not his by blood( he even claimed them even though his family didn’t want him to), but he sucked at being a husband. i may not have a degree ( that’s my doing. i can’t blame anyone else for me not doing what i was supposed to do), but i turned out pretty darn good. so did my sisters.

I did not get my $.02 in yesterday because of work but I cannot understand how all single mothers are lumped in one category. Some of the comments pissed me off but hey I get the same garbage about being a teen parent when I am doing a whole lot better than people who waited. I guess if single parents had abortions people would be happy. I know a lady whose husband was the epitome of a father and he was killed on duty chasing a criminal. She is now a single parent. I guess her son and daughter should watch out now. That daycare comment was some bs also. My kids spend the day in school and I am at home in time for dinner and every activity. I don’t work weekends, they have involved fathers and ish happens. I know for a fact a child is more abused when seeing a father be abusive than not having one around. Whatever happened to it takes a village? I know a lot of stand up men who mentor do big brother programs and thank God for my son’s cub scout leader and my boyfriend because that damn box car was giving me the blues

We can’t do that. The best discussions are those that have nothing to do with these celebs that we can’t relate to, but everyday life. That is why it got heated. Many of us are single moms and some of the things being said hurt. We don’t need to run from it. There are young sistas on this blog that can learn from that discussion. We sit here and tear down celebs all day long not to mention the poor innocent nobodies that Sandra posts sometime, but some of us showed yesterday that we can dish it out, but we can’t take it. I must admit that what intrigued me the most before I could commit was how you guys responded to topics unrelated to the post. My parents told me from day one “I RAISED MY KIDS” and not to expect a hoeass thang from them babysitting, extra money etc……AND I had Kylan at 20 years old with my OWN APARTMENT CAR AND JOB AND MY 1ST TWO CAME FROM MY 1ST AND ONLY (AT THE TIME). I was raised to step up to the plate and BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR MY OWN ACTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. That is what should be preached to SINGLE PARENTS AS A WHOLE – not condemning/shunning people because they choose to handle theirs with or without another man or woman in the household.

ALSO I’m not saying I don’t want a husband….it just doesn’t make me if I do or don’t have one. I’m tired of me and woman like me being judged and categorized with “sorry hoes” because we are holding it down ALONE (treading the Almighty’s GRACE) I personally have a lot of soul searching to do and really don’t feel that I have enough love to share with a nicca right now. Being a mom is not easy. While this convo was going on, I was dealing with my oldest saying that yesterday (because most days I don’t think he thinks about it) he wanted me and his dad to be “undivorced.” Ladies, that broke my heart. But, what can we do? I’m technically a single parent, even though I’m betting that marriage proposal from Mr.Slim is coming at the end of Feb for our anniversary, but that doesn’t matter to the outside world. I’ve been having to fight ever since my divorce happened. If you think being a single mom is bad, try being a single mom due to divorce. They see you as a bigger failure because they assume everyone will stick around for the kids, even if they are unhappy.

So I will say this, A GOOD mom is a good mom. My mom was a single mom due to divorce, and I went off to college, and just have done everything I’ve wanted to do just by the grace of God and the drive He blessed me with. I never felt less deserving than kids in two parent homes because my mom worked too hard and loved me too much for me to feel that way.

While I agree that kids need their fathers or a father figure, they really do, there is no need for women to rush into anything because it will be destined to fail. Bless up!!!
