Notorious B.I.G. Screening: Atlanta
3 Brown Girls’ Eboni Elektra (right) and her niece, singer, Vistoso Bosses, were among Atlanta’s elite who turned out for the private Atlanta screening of the eponymous Notorious BIG biopic on Monday night.
The theater was so packed that a second screen was added to accommodate those who didn’t get seats for the first showing.
The consensus seems to be that Jamal “Gravy” Woolard captured the true essence of Biggie in the movie. But Derek Luke as Puffy just wasn’t believable — “not for two seconds,” I was told by someone who knows Puffy intimately.
The big push is on to get warm bodies into the theater on Friday (1/16) to see the tribute to the g.o.a.t.

They say DJ Drama was robbed of his “BARACK ODRAMA” faux diamond chain and he was left bruised and bloodied in the parking lot. Hopefully the thug who stole it will get caught before he can put up a video on Worldstar.

That darn Trey Songz knows he is a cutie. Saw him at the Maxwell concert and he was just as cute in person.
Boy folks here in Atlanta love to throw that word ‘elite’ around. I live here and there are only one or two that should be considered elite. I still will not spend my $9 at the theaters to see this.

I’m going to see it…maybe twice if it’s good. I don’t want to be a hypocrite when it’s time to discuss why black actors/actresses can’t get roles. I’ve seen clips and I’m not convinced Gravy captured the essences of Big like they say.

@licia yes it was good. Tyler P. betta take notes. The movie was very well written. Tylers movies I support but I always feel he could take his writing to another level. He is slowly improving with the last 2. I think Madea goes to jail will be simple but I heart D Luke so I will be front and center..lol
@licia, I’m only 24 minutes into it, but I’m loving Taraji Henson’s character, I’ve never seen her play such an aggresive role and Morris is Mmm, Mmm good as usual… it’s way too early to be lusting.
Ima i love taraji and her attitude. i wanted to slap jenifer lewis. she was mean . kevin hart had me rolling. morris didn’t need to do anything but stand there. lol
daisy i think tyler got a little bit better with each movie. wasn’t like a big change , but you notice that there is a change. at least i always notice.
Why is Sarah Chapman supporting Puffy? He won’t even publicly acknowledge his child that looks just like the twins. Jump offs trying to stay relevant. And Puffy is just sorry.

gravy definitely captured biggie very well and its not that derek luke didn’t do a good job playing diddy its just you know him from other roles and thats just not his personality so it kinda makes it hard for you to separate him from his previous work to play somebody as flamboyant as diddy the movie is definitely worth seeing in the theaters kinda disappointed in everyone talking about they will wait on the bootleg

I took it that way too, but I figured after we all come back on Monday talking about how good it was they will go out and see it in the theater. Heck, hearing the talk of TD Jakes’ movie makes me want to go see it when I hadn’t originally planned to.

and people need to see it opening weekend really the more people see it first week the longer the run u know they barely give our movies a chance before they start pulling them
