Jennifer Hudson looked happy while shopping for a bed last week in Florida. J-Hud and her fiance Punk made Florida their home.
J-Hud is preparing for her big gig at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida on Feb 1st.
According to a source, J-Hud steered clear of the hype and hysteria in Washington D.C. She obviously knew Beyonce and other celebs would hog the cameras and make the Inauguration all about them.

Pop legend Janet Jackson finally ditched the baggy clothing after it became apparent that no one with any common sense believed she was pregnant.
JJ was spotted over in London last night looking fit and trim. Maybe these pictures will finally lay to rest any silly rumors that she’s pregnant.

‘Notorious’ Actor is a Wife Beater

Fox/ Searchlight pictures managed to keep this story under wraps. According to The New York Post, ‘Notorious’ star Jamal “Gravy” Woolard has a criminal past.
The rapper who plays Notorious B.I.G. in new biopic “Notorious” recently caught a case for beating down his wife in a domestic dispute.
court paperwork obtained by the New York Post apparently shows the new star was charged with misdemeanor assault, menacing and harassment after a domestic incident last September (08).
A source tells the publication that Woolard’s spouse, Trina Younger, phoned emergency services after the pair had an altercation when Woolard returned home late.
But Younger’s mother, who is currently living with the couple as Woolard promotes the film, is adamant there was no violence involved.
She says, “I know he wouldn’t hit her. He’s not like that. Most definitely, they have a good relationship. That’s impossible, I think it’s made up. He’s a loving husband and I never heard of anything like that before in my life.”

Malaysia Moves Ahead With ‘Ban Rihanna’ Campaign
2009 is not shaping up to be Rihanna’s year. First she comes down with a probable case of Herpes, and now this:
Islamic leaders in Malaysia are pressing ahead with calls to ban Rihanna from performing in the country – just weeks after she promised to tone down her forthcoming live concert.
The Malaysian government has strict rules when it comes to female performers, and artists are required to cover up from their shoulders to their knees.
The PAS has urged authorities who issue concert permits in the primarily Muslim country to reject the organizer’s application.
The organization, which has launched protests against the U.S. over its support of Israel in the ongoing struggle in the Middle East, has also warned that ticket buyers are contributing to the United States’ economy.
PAS youth wing leader Kamaruzaman Mohamad tells Malaysian newspaper the Star, “Whether Rihanna realizes it or not, we know that the taxes she has paid also contributed to the war in Gaza.” (LINK)

Michelle Obama’s Ball Gown
According to the LA Times, the unsightly Inaugural ball gown worn by Michelle Obama cost $1,500 and was designed by 26-year-old Jason Wu.
Some bloggers expressed disappointment at Michelle’s fashion sense (again). But the LA Times raved about the frock:
The gown is an unusual choice. Obama is wearing white in the winter and white at night. (President Obama’s white bow tie and tux combo is even more unusual.) The gown could even be a wedding dress. But Michelle Obama is rewriting the fashion rules and she looks every inch the style icon she is becoming. The one-shouldered style is sexy and the powdery hue reflects the trends we saw on the Golden Globes red carpet. And won’t it look nice in the Smithsonian alongside the other first lady gowns? (LINK)
I said I wasn’t going to be so opinionated in the 09, and I’m sticking to my promise. So I will keep my opinions on the dress to myself.
Obama Vows “A New Start With Muslims”
While Muslims were setting fire to Barack Hussein Obama’s image in the streets of Tehran yesterday, Obama vowed to make a new start with the Muslim world in his inauguration address.
“To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect,” he said.
Yesterday, a wave of hysteria swept this Nation like nothing we’ve seen in recent history. Hundreds of thousands danced in the streets and exulted in the Messiah’s rise to power. And as always happens when a narcissistic ruler rises to power, his people totally ignored his words, his actions and the plethora of warning signs.
But the Daily Mail‘s Melanie Phillips raised a cautious eyebrow to the Obama hysteria in America:
The very reason that so many in the west are so entranced by Obama is thus the very reason why our enemies are today rubbing their hands in satisfaction.
Obama stands for ‘soft power’ – the replacement of military action in defense of his nation by talking, negotiation and compromise. But with people who have non-negotiable and unconscionable agendas – such as Iran’s genocidal intention to wipe Israel off the map and destroy the west – such an approach merely plays into their hands while catastrophically undermining more moderate regimes and allies.
