DeShawn Snow Kicked Off ‘Housewives’ For Not Being Ghetto Enough
ESSENCE magazine confirms rumors that the only classy housewife on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” was kicked off the show because she wasn’t ghetto enough.
DeShawn Snow told Essence.com:
[One of the producers] called and said that I was “too human for a circus show” and that because the show did so well, they are about to pump up the drama and they didn’t think that I would fit in. He gave me an example, saying that during the reunion when I found out what a few of the other ladies said about me, they were expecting me to say more, but I’m not the type to go “television” and start acting crazy because somebody’s talking about me. I’m fine with the decision. It wasn’t my decision. They let me go and there are no hard feelings. I am thankful for the opportunity.
Now that’s real class! I knew there was something fishy about Lisa Wu’s erratic behavior on the Season Finale. Obviously she was forewarned that cuts were coming.
Much respect to DeShawn for maintaining her dignity and for being a role model for our daughters to look up to! DeShawn tried to bring some class and decorum to the show.
But when it comes to women of color, the TV networks don’t want class they want trash!
I hear that Frank Ski’s wife Tanya Ski was cast for the show’s 2nd season, but let’s hope that’s just a rumor. Tanya is much too classy for that show.

BART Officer Finally Arrested in Oscar Grant Shooting Case

The BART police officer who fatally shot an unarmed man on an Oakland train platform and then refused to explain his actions to investigators was arrested Tuesday in Nevada on suspicion of murder, authorities said.
Johannes Mehserle, 27, was arrested in the New Year’s Day shooting of Oscar Grant, a 22-year-old supermarket worker from Hayward who was lying facedown after being pulled off a BART train by police investigating a fight. An Alameda County judge signed an arrest warrant alleging murder, and Mehserle surrendered without incident, authorities said.
The shooting, which was recorded by passengers in videos widely circulated on the Internet and television, prompted public outrage, and some viewers said that the shooting appeared to be an execution.
Sources said Mehserle was in Nevada because he feared for his safety after death threats were made against him. Douglas County is 15 miles south of Carson City in northwestern Nevada and includes part of Lake Tahoe.
Grant’s family has filed a $25 million legal claim against BART, signaling an intention to sue for damages. The family’s attorney, John Burris, said late Tuesday that he was pleased to hear of Mehserle’s arrest.
“If it’s true, the family is delighted, and it will really help with the healing process,” Burris said. “This is also very important for the community. This had to occur; it was almost a no-brainer. I think the district attorney ought to be commended for moving (the case) expeditiously.” LINK
Did Jennifer Hudson Fall Out With Obama Over Beyoncé?
Singer Jennifer Hudson, who took a hiatus after her family members were killed in a home invasion in October, will return to the spotlight when she sings the National Anthem at the Super Bowl next month.
Hudson will sing before the big game in Tampa on February 1. Which brings up a question. If she can sing at the Super Bowl on Feb 1, why can’t she perform at Barack Obama’s Inauguration which is less than two weeks earlier?
What’s more important?
Well, my well-placed source tells me that Hudson and Obama fell out because Beyoncé was invited to sing at the Inauguration. And as you know, Jennifer isn’t feeling Bey right now.

Last night I received an email from a rep of the rapper who took out a restraining order on big Shaq.
Alexis Miller, aka MaryJane has settled her differences with “big daddy” and she’s about to drop her album (I guess she got paid).

3 Brown Girls’ Eboni Elektra (right) and her niece, singer, Vistoso Bosses, were among Atlanta’s elite who turned out for the private Atlanta screening of the eponymous Notorious BIG biopic on Monday night.
The theater was so packed that a second screen was added to accommodate those who didn’t get seats for the first showing.
The consensus seems to be that Jamal “Gravy” Woolard captured the true essence of Biggie in the movie. But Derek Luke as Puffy just wasn’t believable — “not for two seconds,” I was told by someone who knows Puffy intimately.
The big push is on to get warm bodies into the theater on Friday (1/16) to see the tribute to the g.o.a.t.

Obama’s Treasury Secretary ‘Forgot’ to Pay His Taxes
Yesterday, the mainstream media was all over the news that Barack Obama’s Treasury Secretary-designate Timothy Geithner, “forgot” to pay $34,000 in self-employment taxes from 2001-2004 (LINK).
Geithner explained that he merely made an error by not thinking he had to pay that $34,000. The left wing apologists, Huffington Post found a tax expert who claimed Geithner’s mistake was a “common” one.
Mind you, the IRS notified Geithner that he owed that money back in 2006. Even after repeated reminders by the IRS in writing, he still forgot.
In fact Geithner didn’t bother to pay his taxes until it became obvious that he would get the Treasury Secretary job. Then he hastily wrote a check for the unpaid taxes a few days before Obama announced him as his pick for Treasury Secretary.
Gee, it must really be nice to be him, huh?
In the real world where the rest of us reside, the IRS would have lit a fire under our asses if we forgot to pay $34,000 in taxes.
Once again Obama’s transition team seems to have a little problem vetting his cabinet picks. It isn’t like they aren’t aware that their picks have scandalous backgrounds — it’s just that they hope the media doesn’t find out.

“Wesley Snipes just emailed me to say he too ‘forgot’ to pay his taxes, and would have been reminded to pay them, if only Obama had named him IRS Collector in Chief.”
