T.I. Ballin’ Out of Control
Yesterday I spoke with a club owner in D.C. who was interested in buying ad space on my blog. During the course of the conversation, he told me that rapper T.I. made an appearance at his club recently.
Me being the curious type, I asked if it was true that T.I. was really getting upwards of $100,000 per club appearance.
His answer surprised me: T.I. now commands — and receives — $150,000 per appearance! The reason being that he’s going to the joint soon and he needs to make sure that his extended family is well taken of while he’s on the inside.
T.I.’s club appearance fee breaks down to $75,000 per hour! And we’re not even talking about him performing.
But are nightclubs raking in cash like that every night? Because I need to open up a club, but I wouldn’t be able to afford T.I.’s rates. The club owner wouldn’t say how much his take is per night, but he did acknowledge paying T.I.’s whopping fee.
I don’t think Jay Z gets that much scrilla just to show up and chill in a club’s VIP for two hours. He might ask but I doubt he would get it.
No doubt, T.I. is the hottest commodity in Hip Hop right now.

another post of useless info on T.I. Sandra quit it with the Jay Z comparisions because there is none. Love him or in your case hate him, Jay Z is hills and oceans beyond the level of T.I.
Get those promotions lined up T.I so you can feed your family while you’re in the clank for what is a unusually SMALL amount of time for the charges you were facing. I do’t like 50 AT ALL but he definately has/had some legitimate points about T.I and his gun case.
@Shauny girl boo Jay Z aint got NATHAN on TI…lol He tries so hard to stay relevant these days it aint even funny. Jay looked a HOT mess at the neighborhood ball song was WACK as well.
I bet you Jay Z has enough sense not to be running around buying semi-automatic weapons and ****…say what you will but that makes him a smarter man in my book. The fact that Jay Z was invited to perform at the Neighborhood Ball (and NOT as a guest appearance on somebody else’s song) speaks volumes about his success as an artist. Not taking anything away from TI b/c I like him as an artist, but he is not on Jay’s level yet.
No surprise here. I’ve read Paris Hilton has brought in up to 500k for a club appearance. All you need is a club that can hold a few thousand people. Charge the patrons enough at the door to pay the celeb’s fee and make your money off the bar. I don’t know if Jay does club appearances, but if he does you can rest assured he’s at least in the same range as T.I., if not higher. Also, I saw pics of T.I.’s weekend gig and he did perform.

@bk you can rep for your homey Jay Z all day I am not impressed and never really have been and I luvs me some NY swagger but he doesnt do it for me. He is a businessman and so is TI. Jay z’s best friend didnt die in his arms so until you go through that dont talk about TI and his guns..lol

TI ain’t on Jay’s level yet, but i think he’s working hard to get there. As Bird mentioned, there are others who make more than $150K, so that’s nothing to brag about in comparison.

BTW, Jay is from one of the worst projects in BK, and may not have had his BF die in his arms, but has been around violence too. Can people be on their level. TI is on TIs level. Jay is on Jays level etc. Can ppl do their own thing w/o being compared to the next man. The only level we need to be worried about achieving or striving towards is Jesus n e way!

I use to be the same way about Jay Z when I was a STAN (for his talent because he’s never been attractive to me).
Girl I use to go AT IT with peeps. I lost a lot of respect for him for how he played Dame and Bigg when he branched off. It showed me a lot about what kind of person he really was and I didn’t like what I saw.

someone mentioned that in the Amar’e post yesterday and I was STUNNED! Some people are saying it was already known that she dated J and then a few years later dated and seriously feel in love with Dame.
I can’t know sista girl but I don’t get down like that but she must’ve saw something in one that she didn’t see in the other and maybe J’s ego couldn’t handle that.

@Miss yes thats the word on the streets. Somebody has a new book/doc. coming out and said thats the real reason Jay and Dame fell out. Aaliyah dated Jay 1st the story goes and then got with Dame. I mean she did marry Kells at 15 rest her soul. I dont know. Jay did do the miss you tribute song..Who knows.

I saw some yesterday too and they do look coupled up. She was leaning into to him and they were kinda holding hands.
@Miss I am so glad im not the only one. I never understood her and Dame. At that time Dame was always in a video pouring a bottle of something on women which was not cute or cool. Oh well to each their own not my cup of tea.
I did love to see Dame dance though. I also heard Jay thought Dame was taking away to much of his shine. Dame has more personality than Jay he cant be mad at that.

Well let me be clear… I LOVE JAY-Z (as an artist) and will rep for him and BK all day. IMO Jay is not mad at Dame because last time I checked, personality does not pay the bills…record sales do. I guess it’s like the rap says, people (including myself) will argue all day about who’s the best emcee, Biggie, Jay-Z or Nas (or T.I.. It all comes down to personal preference. Regarding the Aaliyah rumor, there was a picture on another site that showed Jay and Aaliyah hugged up in what would be considered by most, a VERY affectionate stance. I could beleive they were getting it in. Jay seems to have a thing for younger women and we all know Baby girl had a thing for older men.
I would love to know the real story. First I thought it was Matthew putting bugs in his ear to get away from them to sharpen his image but it could’ve been that Jay was a bit heated that Dame made Babygirl fall for him and J couldn’t. Wouldn’t that be something.
This rumor is so old (jay & Aaliyah) & is only being brought up now bc of a book. I heard Aaliyah was a low down hoe… who cares now. Jay is rich, Dame is broke and she is gone. (RIP)… I mean these were two rich men. You are crazy if u think she is the only chick they shared. Not to mention Jay & Nas both fuced Carmen but that didn’t stop they money.
Dame & Jigga was said to have fallen out bc Dame wouldn’t give him his catalog for his first CD & Dame was making business moves without informing Jay… ie making Cameron president of Rocafella. People hear silly rumors and forget about what actually came out of these ppl mouths.

Artist don’t charge everyone everywhere the same price. T.I. would never ask or get that here in the ATL and i know that for a fact. It depends on the situation and who is sponsoring the event. If it’s the cities local promoter they ask for less but if it’s verizon or bellsouth sponsoring the club event they chop their heads off, becasue they got it. Artisits live for big company promoted events and special occasions thats when they can break bank. T.I. was able to charge that price cause of the inauguration hype. That’s not his price in the A, ad Jay-Z with out a doubt goes for more then T.I. and that is a fact.
And clubs don’t pay artists off the money they make that night. They get paid in advance regardless if the party is a success.

@Daisy, I don’t know either one of them personally to say who is the better person. What I was trying to say is that I doubt Jay would be resentful or angry at Dame because Jay is very successful in his own right. I know money doesn’t determine a person’s worth because I am faaaaar from rich but I think I am a pretty good person. =-)

No doubt. I was looking at it from a promoter standpoint and how that person determines to make their money back. The artist is gonna get their money up front or they ain’t comin. And of course sometimes they still don’t show up after they got the money {cough}Lil Wayne {cough}

Sandra some clubs pull in over 400k per weekend night, at least DC live did back in the day; between cover charge, vip fees and alcohol, they’re making that money when the club is
