1,000 Obama Supporters Line Up For Federal Jobs
A line of job hopefuls estimated at 1,000 snaked around the Sam Nunn Federal Center in downtown Atlanta today — even though no hiring and no interviews were taking place.
According to the AJC, the job seekers stood in line for hours to attend a federal job fair where information and flyers were being passed out.
“It’s sad that all these people, many of them out of work, are in this line,” said Russell Lohr, 37. “It’s definitely a sign of bad times.” [LINK]

@East She acts like people didn’t need jobs when W was the President all of this started under him. Also blacks have always had a higher unemployment rate anyway, sad to say.
I’m sure it wasn’t Obama supporters lined up necessarily, I’m figuring it was more like unemployed people regardless of party.
Ask yourself Sandra…if you were a GOP supporter (that we know you are) and you were out of work, do you mean to tell me you wouldn’t apply for ANY job you’re qualified for? Would you just sit on your ass and become a willing participate in the problems we’re going through currently? Would you not attempt to provide for your own necessities and just request your own personal gov’t bailout instead?
Regardless of party lines…PEOPLE are out of work and they have families and priorities! The negativity is poorly administered here.
I definitely pray they get a job because in these hard times nobody can afford to not be gettin a decent paycheck. even college degree holders are seeking jobs. just sad and its not gonna turn around anytime soon!
Let me guess..they were Obama supporters because they were black right?Psh..whatever.I must been born yesterday posted with stupid on my forehead.Like someone said unemployment has been high with black folks for years and its true that many people won’t hire black people with a clean record and an education in regards to a white person who has a record and no college degree.Don’t be surprised by what you see.But it’s hitting everyone.
It’s not gone take a day to fix this economy and I wish people could just marinate that concept.Whatever though..
All of you know Sandra is trying to get a rise out of you. Glad to see there were only a few comments because most people know how she is. I am making a comment because I know of two folks in that line today and they were so disappointed. I thank God everyday I have a job, no matter how much it irks me sometimes.

They could have just passed the flyers out in the line. Why did they make those people wait like that. At least everyone appeared dressed for a job or interview.
That reminds me of what happened in Memphis during Christmas when a church was supposed to give out food baskets/bags and gave those people Skittles and potato chips.
A damn shame.
I think it is great President Obama has made it “COOL” to work for the government again. I know the poor economy cannot be ruled out as a reason folks may be suddenly lining up to work for the Feds. However, there are some people, no matter how poor the economy, who would have never considered working for a bunch of bureaucrats. Our new president may be helping to change the negative perception some may have of working for the federal government.
