Stevie Wonder Honored With Special Ceremony At White House
The legendary Stevie Wonder was honored at a special ceremony last night at the White House in D.C. Mr. Wonder was awarded the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize by POTUS Barack Obama. Afterwards he performed a special medley of his hits. It’s a well-known fact that Stevie Wonder is First Lady Michelle Obama’s favorite musician. And since their marriage is in trouble, according to People magazine, her man Baracked some strings to get a medal for Mr. Wonder so he would appear at the White House. Now that’s love right there.
I love how Michelle totally igged the naysayers in the mainstream press who feel she should stick with tradition and wear sleeves in the White House. They keep forgetting Michelle is not Laura Bush. She’s a sistah who wears what she wants to wear.
I don’t know how I would feel if everywhere I went women were drooling over my man. But Michelle is strong and she has already indicated that while there are problems within her marriage, she is willing to work to keep her man. Bless her heart.
White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers expertly handled all the planning of the special ceremony. I hear she’s still smarting from the stinging criticism she received for her revealing outfit at NY’s Fashion Week. But I think she looked great. Ignore the haters Desiree.

I love that Michelle is putting more curl in her hair (see what a NEW hairdresser will do for you)…and Michelle has the arms, shoulders and bust to wear sleevless…unlike my girl Monique, whom I love dearly…but…NO TO THE SLEEVELESS!!!
I know Michelle is used to women wanting her man…heck wanna be “ballers” with Link cards get maja play from wimmins these days…but I know Michelle knows she’s “got that on lock”!!!

I think that first picture has to be the most beautiful pic I’ve have ever seen of Michelle. Love the hair style, it’s definitely a keeper.
Now Sandra you know their marriage is not in trouble. What she was saying is like most relationships it takes work and they are willing to do whatever it takes to make it work. SMH

i agree. people who have never been married are always quick to read too deep into married folks comments on marriage. anyone whose ever worn a pair of the ” ’til death do you part” shoes can attest to the loving (i don’t like to say “hard work”) work and compromise it takes to have a successful relationship…that’s why er’body don’t make it through the tough times.

Being First Lady suits Michelle boy!!! Like everyone else, I’m loving her hair, it really softens her features. Not all first ladies wore sleeves Sandra, the ones who looked good in sleeveless dresses, the ones who were fit enough wore them, like Jackie O, she was known for her sleeveless shift dresses, so go on somewhere Sandra
What marriage does not have problems Sandra? Even the ones who are not married have problems, you know one of you favorite couple, who YOU think is flawless! I have been married for eight years it will be a few storms…Cat 5’s!

Lord, their marriage is not in trouble. Only you Sandra, would hate on a black couple that are in love and where the man didn’t make her into a perpetual baby mama or give the woman a rock and turn her into an eternal fiancee.
Anyone who is married knows it’s not a fairy tale. It does take work to keep marriages together - like life, you weather the good with the bad. Sandra, since you are not married, I’m sure that’s why you totally misunderstood her comments and had no idea what she meant.

BUT!! now you write “Problems in the Marriage”….Why do you cultivate such negative energy when it comes to this man? Why?
Celebrities are one thing, but our President?
Can we just keep the energy of negativity out of the universe for at least a the first year of his term…maybe? Can we give this man, whom we elected into office, an opportunity to meet the challenges? and can we do it as a united front, even on the entertainment driven blogs?
