Chris Brown Charged With Assault With a Deadly Weapon. *UPDATE* No weapon involved

According to TMZ.com, Chris Brown was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon in addition to the domestic battery charges filed against him by one Robyn Fenty, aka Rihanna!
TMZ has confirmed Rihanna is the named alleged victim in the Chris Brown case and the allegation is that she was assaulted with a deadly weapon.
Law enforcement sources tell us the crime report calls the incident assault with a deadly weapon — we do not yet know the nature of the weapon.
The crime report gives the victim’s name as Robyn Fenty — that’s Rihanna’s real name. [LINK]
This doesn’t necessarily mean Chris Brown pistol whipped Rihanna (which would explain why she’s still in the hospital).
In some rare cases, assault with a deadly weapon charges have been filed against people who are experts in the field of martial arts, and their hands can technically be defined as deadly weapons.
Didn’t I read somewhere that Brown was into the martial arts?

We had been hearing there was an umbrella in the car — which would have been the most ironic thing ever — but again… no weapon is alleged.
One law enforcement source who has been dead on so far claim Rihanna suffered contusions and bite marks.

Actually I just got done reading an LA Times article that quotes Chris as saying he studied martial arts and used it once to fend off multiple attackers at once. He made those claims as a 17 year old so who knows if it’s true. They also quote him from the same article saying his step father used to beat the crap out of his mother and he hates dude to this day.
@Bird yes I said earlier Chris grew up watching his mother get the beat down and he said he would never hit a woman because of that in the same interview. He said he doesn’t like to talk about it but he wanted his fans to know he has been through somethings and didnt/doesnt always have it made per say.

@Brwn I doubt we ever find out what really happened that night. I think both PR teams will limit them to what they can say. The police can say what marks or what have you but my question regarding what the fight was over may never be answered. I agree this is way to much.

All I know is Chris Brown just f’ed up his career. How many parents had to explain this to their little girls this morning? Its one thing when you don’t know the woman, but it was Rihanna. On some straight Ike & Tina ish. It couldn’t have been the first time the two of them got into it. This was too much for a first time incident.
The funniest thing about the story is that Rhianna’s PR team was on it ASAP. On Sunday prior to the wack ass Grammys, it was on MSN that he was assulted and that she was in a acr wreck. can anyone say DAMAGE CONTROL????????
I’m sticking with TMZ for the facts on this one. They are the only ones verifying their info rather than making junk up. Last night several of the black blogs were saying that they had a fight in the limo which is a complete lie. Then they came out with the herpes story. Now Sandra is trying to throw pistal whipping into the mix. These poor kids are getting hammered.
@Miss I was wondering the same thing since this fight was in public. I dont know many men who will wait until they are outside of their private qtrs to hit a woman for the very 1st time but then again he could have been defending himself as well. I am trying to wait to give my verdict until I can gather more info.

That car wreck story was ridiculous. By the time I heard that lame excuse the fight story was already out. Everyone knew it was PR spin and really the statement only popped up on a few sites as the joke that it was.

I kind of feel bad for Chris and Rhi, that their business is on blast like this. It too shall pass.
I will say it again. I am really proud of Rihanna for pressing charges against Chris. Unlike many others who suffer in silence – Cassie, Kim Porter, Jennifer Lopez… – Rihanna stood up like a REAL lady. She is making Chris accountable for HIS actions. So many other women can take a lesson from Rihanna. I would LOVE to see Rihanna do a few PSAs to help other women understand violence against them at the hands of men they “love” is not their fault.

Whether she presses charges or not I think Cali has the law where state can pick it up.
I think that Chris will have the biggest hit in his career no matter what. He will be seen as the artist who beat up Rhianna now. A lot of sponsers will want to stay away from that kind of heat. Also, if Rhianna hit him wouldn’t/shouldn’t he also be filing charges against her? He didn’t so that leads me to believe that it was more of a one sided incident.
I mean he can’t say he didn’t want to be seen as a punk but what is he going to be considered now…a woman beater.

Wrigley has announced they are suspending his ad campaign. As soon as I read that, the commercial came on BET.
There really is no excuse no matter what happened. If he grew up seeing his mom get beat and how that made him feel he should know and do better. But we all have to go through things we have to learn and grow from. He’s 19, so there’s still hope. I just hope Rihanna will be okay, she’ll have a label attached to her as well.
