Nurses Fired For Taking Cell Phone Pics of Patient
Two Wisconsin nurses have been terminated from their jobs for taking cell phone pictures of a patient’s X-ray. [LINK]
The x-ray showed a sex toy lodged in the rectum of a male patient.
Photos of the x-rays were then posted on a Facebook page belonging to one of the nurses. The nurse denies posting the photos on her page and has since deleted the FB page.
The patient was not identified on the Facebook page, yet the case has been forwarded to the FBI for investigation into possible HIPAA violations.
Many gay men (and heterosexual men) derive great pleasure from inserting a variety of unusual objects into their rectums. Problems occur when the fragile blood filled tissue inside the rectum begins to swell or the bowel is punctured and bleeds profusely.
A perforated bowel can lead to a life-threatening emergency.
Medical personnel often joke about these cases in private. It’s their way of coping with a sometimes stressful occupation.

Ahhhh, I would have to question the heterosexuality of a man that derives great pleasure from a “variety of unusual objects” being insterted in their rectum… lol
ok i can understand them joking about what happened(i work on a cancer floor so i know it can be stressful), but they shouldn’t have posted this mess on FB . that was stupid as h*ll. that person can sue the hospital . you are right that’s a huge HIPPA violation.

My understanding of this story is that the topic was discussed on facebook, but no pictures was ever shown. I believe these nurses have freedom of speech as long as a patient name wasn’t given or picture shown.

Yeah that was stupid for them to post the pic.. Sandra HIPAA is spelled with one P honey. Anyway, even though medical information is protected not sure if that really is a HIPAA violation.
I know we clown all day about some of these crazy ass patients. You’d be surprised at what some of these sick people do in their homes.
There is no way around the fact that the butt is not made for inserting things, it’s for relieving things from the body. On my butt is an “exit only” sign.
