Rihanna’s Dad Upset With LAPD Over the Sale of Rihanna’s Photo

No wonder celebrities risk their lives by leaving the country to get plastic surgery. You can’t trust anybody in Hollywood! Everyone is on the take from court clerks to the police to hospital employees. They can all be bought for the right price.
Now Rihanna’s dad is speaking out about the alleged sale of his daughter’s police evidence photo to an online entertainment website.
Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, is not happy with the release of a graphic photo of the singer reportedly taken shortly after her alleged altercation with Chris Brown. The photo shows Rihanna, who turned 21 on Friday, with multiple cuts and bruises.
“Sloppy work on their part,” Fenty told People about the Los Angeles Police Department’s handling of the case on Friday.
The LAPD is currently conducting an internal investigation on the leaked photo, which emerged on TMZ on Thursday night and quickly spread across the Web.
“The photograph has the appearance of one taken during an official Domestic Violence investigation,” the LAPD told Access Hollywood in a statement. “The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence. The Department launched an immediate internal investigation and subsequently filed a personnel complaint.”
And while today is the singer’s birthday, her father was unaware of any plans to celebrate.
“There’s no party that I know of,” he told People. [LINK]
FanMAIL: Ja Rule and Inês Carolina Boo’d Up?
Thanks to loyal reader Fernanda for these pics of Ja Rule being naughty. Fernanda is the same loyal reader who told us about Ja Rule and Inês Carolina in an earlier fanmail. [LINK]
I will be the first to admit that just because he’s embracing her the same way Sanaa Lathan embraced Taraji, doesn’t mean they know each other’s bodies intimately. But it sure looks that way.

Wanna Be Baller Charged in Death of Cancer Researcher

Shamal Jeremy Thompson, 22, is a handsome brotha with a taste for the finer things in life. He’s a sharp dresser who gives every appearance of being a young professional on the fast track to success.
But his looks are deceiving — as is usually the case with wanna be ballers who get lured in by Hip Hop’s fake imagery of attaining easy wealth with very little effort.
Unfortunately, for Eugenia “Jeanne” Calle, it was Thompson’s smooth, debonair looks that caught her attention on Tuesday morning as she crossed the lobby of the Aqua building, a luxury hi-rise at 10th and West Peachtree streets where condos sell for up to $2.5 million.
The 57-year-old retired cancer researcher couldn’t tell by looking at him that Thompson didn’t have a job. Or that he was a career criminal looking for an easy mark to hit a lick.
As she approached, she overheard Thompson talking to a real estate agent about viewing condos in her building that day.
Calle, who owned a condo on the 20th floor, was eager to sell so she could move in with her attorney boyfriend. “Don’t forget about mine. It’s for sale, also,” she reminded the sales agent.
But Thompson didn’t forget. Shortly thereafter, a security guard called Calle in her condo to inform her that a man was in the lobby asking to see her condo.
“Would you like for me to escort him up?” the guard asked Calle, according to Atlanta police Lt. Keith Meadows, who heads the homicide unit at APD. “No, it’ll be fine,” Calle responded. “I don’t want him to think that we don’t trust him.’ “
The guard sent Thompson up to the condo around 2 PM Tuesday. 30 minutes later, Calle was dead.
Her body was found around 11 PM that night by her boyfriend, a tax attorney whose name was not released by police.
According to Meadows, Thompson beat Calle to death with a blunt object. He then dragged her body into her kitchen pantry where he callously removed a diamond ring from her finger. $68 in cash, her credit cards and an electronic entry card were taken from her purse.
Thompson was in a hurry. He had plans for the evening. He went on a shopping spree with Calle’s credit cards, first to Atlantic Station and then to Lenox Square Mall where he purchased clothes, shoes and a $400 watch.
Only expensive brand name items would do for a fake baller like Thompson. According to Meadows, Thompson gave Calle’s diamond ring to a female friend to impress her.
ACORN Mob to Banks: “This is our house now!”

I guess it’s just a coincidence that ACORN begins breaking into foreclosed homes just days after receiving billions in taxpayer money from Barack Obama.
Near Patterson Park, the padlock on the door and the sign in the window tells part of Donna Hanks foreclosure story.
The mortgage went up $300 in one month,” said Hanks, former homeowner. She says the bank refused to modify her loan and foreclosed, kicking her out of the house in September.
The community group ACORN calls Hanks a victim of predatory lending. “This is our house now,” said Louis Beverly, ACORN.
And on Thursday afternoon, they literally broke the foreclosure padlock right off the front door and then broke into the house, letting Hanks back in for the first time in months. [LINK via MM]

RUN IT! Who Ran the Picture?

Gawker.com has a list of the media outlets and blogs that ran the leaked Rihanna photo vs. the ones that didn’t run it.
Of course the list of outlets that didn’t run the picture is much shorter.
You already know we ran the photo, but we’re nobodies so we aren’t on the list.
By the way, Happy Birthday to Rihanna who turned 21 today.

Did not run the picture, but reported it:
* People, – which did a full story about the picture but did not even link it.
* E! – also did not link the picture when it ran a story about the photo and how Los Angeles police are investigating how it was leaked.
* The LA Times – wrote about the same investigation, with a link to the photo on TMZ.
* Drudge Report – linked the TMZ photo prominently.
(Larger news sites like CNN, MSNBC and New York Times did not cover the picture by end of day Thursday.)
I guess Rihanna’s battered face wasn’t news that was fit enough to print?
LAPD Launches Investigation Into Leaked Rihanna Photo
It didn’t take long for the LAPD to release a statement about that leaked photo showing the damage inflicted on Rihanna’s face by her boyfriend Chris Brown. Rihanna and her people are naturally freaked out about the picture leaking all over the Internet.
Everyone and their grandma knows someone within the police department got paid to leak that photo.
The image looks like it was scanned and sent out either via fax machine or email.
The LAPD clams to have launched an internal investigation. We hope that investigation includes bank statements and ATM receipts.
“The photograph has the appearance of one taken during an official Domestic Violence investigation. The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence,” the LAPD said via a statement released on Thursday.”The Department launched an immediate internal investigation and subsequently filed a personnel complaint. A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination.”
