Video: Jennifer Hudson Singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl

I agree with everyone who say Jennifer Hudson’s rendition of the National Anthem last night gave them chills. I watched her sing live (I never watch the Super Bowl pre-game events) and Jennifer Hudson killed it!

I wonder if Jen’s voice was pre-recorded like Whitney Houston’s?

Aren’t you happy that Jen decided to skip the inauguration circus and save her impressive pipes for the Super Bowl instead?

I think Jennifer did a beautiful job last night…Her performance was my 2nd all time favorite. Whitney’s being #1. I heard on the radio this morning that her performance was pre-recorded.

people are saying that her performance was prerecorded, but she still did great . from what i understand the nfl asks that the artist prerecord their vocals just in case something goes wrong. don’t know if this is true or not . i’m just repeating what i heard .

again she still did fab . i’m very proud of her.

I think Jennifer did an excellent job. I don’t care if it was pre-recorded. It was still her singing. I loved that jacket she had on. I really need to add that to my wardrobe.

Beside Whitney Houston’s, that was the best renditon that I have ever heard;it brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful job!

Jennifer did great. Most preformances are prerecorded becasue of feedback. The whole Superbowl was one of the best I have seen in years.

That was amazingly beautiful, and she looked great…despite all that she has recently been through she is very strong, and is holding up real well.

Last night on the news they said it was the pre recorded version. They make everyone do it because they never know what may happen when it’s time to sing live. She recorded it last week (I believe they said).

I am so glad she didn’t over sing the song. She put her own little touches but she didnt try to make it into a jazzed up version of the song. You could tell that she was SO nervous and looked glad when it was over.

She did a wonderful job. I have to go back and listen to
Whitney’s version because hers is my all time favorite to see if J-Hud took her #1 spot. You know who else killed it when they did it, Nsync. Does anyone remember? They were one of my favs too.

Miss Jennifer was fabulous! She definately prerecorded the song because she was messing up the lip syncing from the first verse. But it’s not like it ain’t her voice. I just think the Superbowl folks want to make sure it is perfect and I ain’t mad at that.

Jennifer’s performance was great and IMHO better than Whitney’s which I thought was so-so.

Ricky Minor the music producer went on record stating he had JHud and Faith Hill pre-record their vocals. He feels it’s better than singing live because in his words so many things can go wrong. I think both women are professional and skilled enough to have sung live, but JHud’s performance either way was excellent.

Jen, Bey and Whitney have all prerecorded and killed the SSB, with Whitney’s version being the best ever, IMHO. Jen was fabulous last night, Bey did it the same year as Nipplegate (youtube it), and she was sensational, and of course Whitney’s performance is classic..all these ladies are tops! They should be celebrated as such, Whitney’s album will be droppin soon y’all!
