This Sunday at The Velvet Room was bananas! The occasion was DJ Infamous’ 4th Year Anniversary as one of the South’s premiere DJs. Young Infamous has a cameo in just about every rapper’s video and he’s in high demand all over the South. If you live in Atlanta, you hear him spin nightly on V-103’s Greg Street Show.
The occasion was also club promoter Botchey’s birthday bash at Velvet Room. Botchey and MusicBusinessPolitics holds down Investment Night every Wednesday night at Luckie Lounge. If you live in the A then you know how Botchey is doin’ it. So how many celebrities came out to celebrate with Infamous and Botchey? Too many to name!
Lil Kim’s first dance on the hit tv series “Dancing With the Stars” tonight. Lil Kim did the best she could do… considering. The understatement of the year was when Kim’s dance partner Derek Hough said: “Lil Kim definitely has a little bit of Hip Hop experience.” Huh?
I totally agree with Mr. Trump. Rihanna should have used this incident as an opportunity to send a message to her young fans. But all she cares about is getting on with her career as if nothing happened.
Donald Trump is once again speaking his mind — this time about the Chris Brown and Rihanna debacle.
The Donald recently lashed out at Rihanna, telling Inside Edition he would have “fired” the “Umbrella” singer for going back to Brown.
“She better get the hell out,” he says. “If she goes back, she’s a loser and she doesn’t deserve to have any future success.”
Trump is of course referring to the now infamous “alleged” Feb. 8 fight between Chris and Rihanna, which left her with a battered face. Something tells us Brown will never be appearing on Trump’s show, Celebrity Apprentice.
For those who say Beyonce is all natural, here’s indisputable proof that she is not. We know those hips aren’t hers. Why does she keep playing? Bey was spotted shooting a music video in the Tribeca section of New York City yesterday.
A scrub is a guy that thinks he’s fly
And is also known as a buster
Always talkin’ ’bout what he wants
And just sits on his broke ass
A scrub is a guy that cant get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his best-friend’s ride
Trying to holler at me
~ From the TLC hit “No Scrubs” written by Kandi Burrus
Filming of the 2nd season of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta just got underway last week, and already the drama is heating up behind the scenes.
Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Kandi Burrus is the new addition to the cast of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kandi, who was filming a reality series with fellow Xscape member Tameka “Tiny” Cottle that got scrapped, will most likely marry her fiance on ATL Housewives.
Congrats to Kandi! But it can’t be a good thing that the entire Atlanta music industry, male and female, are all abuzz about your man — and not in a good way.
One industry friend, who doesn’t normally indulge in idle gossip, told me yesterday, “If that’s who I think it is, he’s the biggest whore in Atlanta.
And loyal reader Siobhan wonders if Kandi’s fiance is the man who has been wining and dining her in Arizona.
Just finished reading the letter about Kandi’s fiance “AJ”. I’m not 100% sure but I am 99.9% that he is the same guy I met here in Arizona. I met him at the Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale a couple of months ago with two of his other friends. Unfortunately their names escape me. However, he told me he was in the music industry. He has taken me shopping out here and we even went to a Suns game together. He also told me about previously dating Tiny and getting in to an altercation with TI. An the ironic thing is everytime he was out here we would eat at Bennihana’s. I am curious to see this new Housewives play out and see if Kandi’s new fiance is the fraud I met here in Arizona. If so all I can say is Kandi please run the other way!!!!
Great Britain is cracking down on cowardly wife beaters and domestic abusers by considering a measure to inform women of their new mate’s abusive history.
The legislation would be similar to Megan’s law here in the states which keeps tabs on pedophiles and requires them to register when they move to a new area.
According to the Daily Mail, British women who fall in love with wife beaters and domestic abusers will be informed about their violent pasts.
Jacqui Smith, the Home Secretary, said she wanted to break the cycle of domestic violence by targeting “serial offenders” who “basically go from one relationship to another” beating up women.
This is a great idea in light of the frequent abuse that pop singer Rihanna suffered at the hands of her boyfriend Chris Brown.
The proposal being considered in Britain would also give power to law enforcement to ban offenders from the homes of women who are abused. This provision would supersede the need for protective orders in the cases of women who refuse, or are afraid to take out orders of protection against their abusers.
The British are always one step ahead of the U.S. when it comes to protecting it’s most vulnerable citizens. How do we get such a bill or law passed here in the United States to protect weak women like Rihanna?
“They shot my baby in the head,” sobbed a grieving mother as Fayette police investigated a triple shooting inside an upscale Fairburn subdivision over the weekend.
The woman’s son was one of hundreds of teens who attended a private house party on Saturday night in the 200 block of Moss Creek Court. Witnesses say the party got out of control when a fight broke out inside the house between invited and uninvited guests.
“A lot of the people in attendance were not invited. It’s our understanding that they may have gotten word of the party through MySpace and text messages,” said Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Belinda McCastle.
The party was over by the time Fayette County Sheriffs were called to the scene by residents who complained about the cars parked on both sides of the street blocking them in.
As police investigated the complaints, gunshots rang out near the party house. One teen was killed from a gunshot wound to the head. Two other males were hit by gunfire and transported to a local hospital. Fayette County Sheriff’s office said the two injured men had non-life-threatening injuries and were between the ages of 18 and 21.
