The White House Says This Was Not a Bow
After waiting with baited breath for the White House to explain why Barack Obowma broke time-honored military protocol by bowing deeply at the waist for the Saudi king, the White House finally mustered an explanation today.

The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets.
“It wasn’t a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he’s taller than King Abdullah,” said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
OMG I cant stop laughing! Did he say Obowma was TALLER than the king?? Isn’t he taller than the queen, who stands 5′-4″?? Does the Obowma administration really think the American people will sit idly by and be blatantly lied to?

Recession Forces Bishop Eddie Long to Cut Back On Easter Service
Bishop Eddie’s Long’s extravagant $250,000 Easter Sunday service will not be held at the Georgia Dome this year for the first time in over a decade. The New Birth Missionary Baptist Church was forced to scale back its Easter services after seeing its membership (and tithes) decline by 20%.
Since 1993, the megachurch held its Easter services at the Georgia Dome in downtown Atlanta, attracting crowds of up to 40,000 that included celebrities such as T.I. and Patti LaBelle. But this year’s Easter service will move back to the 10,000 seat sanctuary in Suburban Atlanta. The recession hit New Birth hard, whittling the 25,000 member congregation down to nearly half that.
Bishop Long, who routinely preaches his sermons dressed in expensive tailored suits and dripping in diamonds, acknowledges that his members are no longer receptive to his “prosperity” message since many of them have lost their jobs and homes.
“In this time of recession, we had to look at some different ways of doing things,” Long said. “The unemployment situation, the mortgage situation has definitely affected our members. This money could be better utilized to bless more people, feed more people.”
Bishop Long is known around Atlanta for his extravagant lifestyle, driving expensive cars and wearing flashy clothes. But despite the recent decline in tithing and offerings, Bishop Long pledged to continue charitable services such as a blood drive, health screenings, a clothing drive, haircuts, dinner for the needy and job assistance.
“This recession has hit across the board very, very hard,” Long said. “But I see a whole lot of hope out there. The message is to keep your head up, keep your faith and stay strong. We are our brother’s keeper.”
Bow Wow and Gay Icon Nancy Sinatra
Thanks to loyal reader Carlos for alerting me to a post on Rod 2.0′s very popular gay-oriented blog.
If you recall, I wrote a post a couple of days ago highlighting the fact that Bow Wow’s new track “Sunshine” contained a sample from Nancy Sinatra’s classic 1966 hit “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’ “.
Well, it turns out Nancy’s hit is a gay camp classic. Who knew?
Of course that doesn’t help those pesky rumors that Bow Wow likes his meat raw with a side order of ball juice.

Somehow, I don’t think they took him very seriously over there. I could be wrong though…
Maybe this is how the media in Turkey (a Muslim nation) shows their deference to a world leader, and we just don’t understand their customs. Much like how we don’t understand why Barack bowed down to that Muslim Saudi king.
Good news! Solange was NOT dropped from her record label
Connoisseurs of R&B can breathe easier today. Solange Knowles will record another album after all.
Yesterday, it was widely reported by bloggers, who quoted Jawn Murray of AOL Black Voices, that Solange Knowles was dropped from her record label due to weak sales of her debut album.
However, Solange herself denied the rumors on her twitter page last night. But evidently, some of us who don’t twitter our lives away by waiting for Solange to update missed the memo. Thanks to Toya for posting this statement from Mathew Knowles:
“Our joint venture with Music World and Interscope/Geffen/A&M is very much in place for Solange. We are currently experiencing success at video outlets and radio with the current single T.O.N.Y co-written by Ceelo of Knarls Barkly and Solange. Ceelo and Kid Cudi also appear in the video”.
Scrappy U.S. shipmates retake control of ship seized by Somali pirates
According to the NY Times, the crew of a Maersk U.S. container ship regained control of their ship from Somali pirates who boarded the ship off the coast of Somalia early this morning.
A Pentagon official speaking on condition of anonymity to the NY Times said that one of the pirates was in custody on board the ship. The official said the status of the other pirates is unknown but they were reported to “be in the water” — translation: swimming with the fishes.
“All the crew members are trained in security detail in how to deal with piracy,” Maersk CEO John Reinhart told reporters. “As merchant vessels we do not carry arms. We have ways to push back, but we do not carry arms.”
Somali pirates take advantage of the “no arms” rule by laying in wait for ships to venture near the coast of Somalia then hijacking the ships for ransom. The pirates made world news last year when they hijacked a Ukrainian arms freighter. The owners paid $3.2 million in cash, dropped by parachute to the deck of the freighter.
This is thought to be the first time Somali pirates commandeered a U.S. flagged ship in that area.
Video: Keith Olbermann rips Obama for siding with Bush on wiretaps
Barack Obowma, aka George Bush 2.0, was caught flip flopping on his campaign promises again. So what else is new?
MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann is fired up at the news that the Obowma administration plans to side with George Bush on “warrantless” wiretapping of private citizens by the government. Here’s the best part: they don’t need a warrant or even a legitimate reason to tap your phone.
Some of you may recall that Obowma promised to filibuster any legislation that contained immunity for phone companies that assisted with the warrantless wiretapping of your phone.
In plain English, that means you can’t sue the phone company if you find out your phone is tapped.
In George Orwell’s classic novel 1984 (published in 1949), he describes in eerie detail a future government that strips away the rights of average citizens in order to bring them under total government control.
Who knew Big Brother would turn out to be an actual brother?
