Video: More scripted scenes from MTB 4

So far this season I’ve seen one episode of Making the Band 4, but I saw enough to know that they scripted the hail out of Que’s part.

Remember that BET show “Bruthas”? Remember that one brother who started wylin’ out on his other brothers for no reason? Do you see the similarities between him and Que? On every reality show the producers create one character who plays the antagonist to boost ratings. Notice how that one character always survives cuts until the final?

In this video, Sean Combs puts on a pretty good act pretending not to know why Que is a completely different man from previous seasons. All of this is building up to the finale where producers drop hints that Que might be cut from the group. Except that we already know he’s still in the group, so what’s the point?

In Ladder to the Moon, Maya Soetoro-Ng pays homage to her mother’s tradition of storytelling — and celebrates her mother’s enduring legacy of service — with an unforgettable story of love and compassion being passed along generations. Chris Brown may accept jail time to avoid trial

According to TMZ.com, bish boy’s attorneys and the lead prosecutor in the Rihanna case are working feverishly behind closed doors to secure some kind of deal that would minimize any further damage to Chris Brown’s career.

TMZ reports that Brown initially planned to plead not guilty at today’s hearing. But that plan may be scrapped in lieu of Brown pleading guilty, or no contest to domestic assault charges in order to avoid a trial.

Of course, the worst case scenario would be that the judge gives Brown probation or a slap on the wrist and sends him on his way. The best case scenario is he gets the maximum sentence and is hauled out of court in handcuffs.

Regardless of the outcome of todays hearing, Brown’s career is toast. Wherever he goes he will be constantly reminded of his b*tchassedness. And no promoter in his right mind will book Brown at a venue knowing that protesters will come out wearing CBYO t-shirts and wreck the place.

TMZ reports that Rihanna got out of dodge and flew back to her native Barbados because “she wants to be as far away from this case as possible.”

Fox News Fires 411′s Roger Friedman for “promoting piracy”

According to a report on Deadline Hollywood, Fox News parent company News Corp., fired longtime Fox411 gossip columnist Roger Friedman after he wrote a review of a stolen copy of the hotly-anticipated summer blockbuster, X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman.

News Corp. is also the parent company of 20th Century Fox, which owns the distribution rights to the movie.

Last week, the blogosphere was all a buzz after someone posted an illegal DVD quality print of X-Men Origins: Wolverine online. By weeks’ end, ecstatic X-Men fans had downloaded “hundreds of thousands” of illegal copies from file sharing websites.

Friedman was not only one of those fans who watched the stolen movie online, but he also bragged about doing so in his popular column on Foxnews.com.

In what his bosses felt was a “blatant promotion of piracy,” Friedman wrote:

“I did find the whole top 10 [movies in theaters], plus TV shows, commercials, videos, everything, all streaming away. It took really less than seconds to start playing it all right onto my computer. Later tonight I may finally catch up with Paul Rudd in I Love You, Man. It’s so much easier than going out in the rain!”

It’s hard to believe Friedman didn’t realize he was committing career suicide when he wrote about being “riveted to his chair” while watching the leaked movie online. As Kris Abel points out on his tech blog, “Reviewers in this industry have to go through great lengths to gain the trust of publishers in order to access their materials before launch date.”

When 20th Century Fox contacted Fox News’ Roger Ailes on Friday (3/3) about Friedman’s post, Ailes immediately deleted Friedman’s post from Foxnews.com. Friedman was terminated later that same day.

“He promoted piracy. He basically suggested that viewing a stolen film is OK, which is absolutely intolerable. So we fired him,” a source told Deadline Hollywood Saturday. “Fox News acted promptly on all fronts.”

Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox is calling this major studio breach the “worst piracy scandal they can recall.” Fearing an inside job, alarmed studio heads are working closely with the FBI to catch the culprit and punish him to the fullest extent of the law.

The 4th installment in the X-Men franchise is scheduled to open in theaters on May 1st.

PICS: AG Entertainment’s Secret Society Thursdays

Last week I told you about Secret Society Thursdays, the brainchild of AG Entertainment’s Alex Gidewon. Alex envisioned a spot off the beaten path where his celebrity friends and VIPs could chill in a relaxing atmosphere away from the maddening crowds and hordes of thirsty groupies. Access to Secret Society Thursdays is granted only to Alex’s celeb friends such as Jermaine Dupri, Usher, B.Cox, Jazze Pha. And the industry elite like noted attorney Charles Mathis and Rasheed Muhammad, a private wealth management specialist for sports and entertainment professionals — who rarely goes to nightclubs. There is no VIP area (everyone is a VIP), no cover charge at the door and no promotion other than word of mouth. You either know about it or you don’t.

Thanks to Prince Williams of Atlpics.net for the exclusive photos!

Jay Manuel Defends Tyra

America’s Next Top Model photo shoot director Jay Manuel clawed back at catty nitpickers who criticize Tyra Banks for throwing open the fashion world doors to shorter women.

The fashion establishment’s bible, Vogue, reported recently that the move had been met with “derision from the American fashion community.”

In an interview with OK! magazine, Jay snapped back:

“Well, that’s the American fashion community’s problem!

“Typically people will look at a model on the runway and say she has to have a certain physicality, that makes her a potential top model.

“But this is also the same industry that decided to take short Kate Moss and make her a superstar.

“And in typical Tyra fashion, she finds a way to re-draw that focus to what the industry is actually doing: what they say they’re not doing, but what they actually are.

“I think it’s amazing that she does that.”
