Solange Knowles Dropped from Interscope?
Last week, news of Kelly Rowland’s departure from her record label hit the net. Now comes word that Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles was also shown the door by her record label.

Geffen/Interscope Records has opted not to further their relationship with Knowles’ daughter Solange Knowles. The eclectic singer’s sophomore release ‘Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams’ has only sold around 138,000 units since its release in August of 2008 and Geffen/Interscope didn’t see the value in doing a new CD on her.
“Geffen did a one-off deal with Music World Entertainment for Solange and wasn’t interested in doing a new contract with her. People at the label really liked working with her because other than her infamous news outburst in Las Vegas, she was a constant professional. There were challenges dealing with her camp, but Solange was great to work with. In the end, the CD didn’t sell despite Solange’s countless high profile appearances,” the record label source told me. So both Rowland and Solange are now currently without record company homes; though I am told that Rowland will likely be announcing a new record deal in the coming weeks.
Awww, that bites. Well, let’s look on the bright side: now Solange has more time on her hands to spend with her son Julez and her growing Twitter family.

We are in the 4th month of the year and her record sales from 8/08 sold 138,000 units. To me that is not bad. The movie where she calls the white girl “white girl” all the time is still airing on cable. I am sure she/her daddy was not dumb enough for her not to get money each weekend it airs. She’ll be ok. She works hard. I am trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and hope that she is not doing what she does to stay in the lime light but wants to contribute funding herself and her childs future. As tired as I may be of her big sis, her sis does not have a ex husband or a child. I will give S her props for trying. At least in the movie she was in we knew she was “home girl number 1 and not an extra cast memember number 18 (girl with attitude sucking on a lolipop)but had a lead role. Attitude number 1 who did not suck on a lolipobp. I can say that I do appreciate her hustle more than big sis B. S will be ok and “tweet” your little heart out. I don’t even know what it is or how I can get it or if I already have it. I reallly do think that she visits this site and if you Sol are reading this. I think you would do ok in a slasher movie as a scream queen. Another Saw movie or Jason or even do a revamp of or spoof of yet another Scary Movie umteenth. I have to add that I do want to see Beys movie at the end of the month “Obsessed”. Now that does look like a black version of “Fatal Attraction”. I am not a fan of either of these women. Maybe they should make a song or a movie titled “OVER EXPOSED”. I have to add that I may not be a fan of either of them but I am far from hater status . MAKE YOUR MONEY. I have young women in their late teens who come to vist with “Diron”(dud I even spell it right?)” jeans, coats and jackets, I ask why and they say “auntie Anna, why not”. LOL. I smh smh and say ok.

Regarding Solange, my purchase was included in the 138,000 units sold. In my humble opinion, ‘Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams’ was a solid effort. Maybe the sales wouldn’t be as bad had Interscope got behind their artist and gave her project the much needed support. Matthew will ensure his baby girl will get added to another label’s roster.
Well if what you put out is what you get back she waited too long to start putting out her positive energy.

Maybe she didn’t know she got the boot? Sometimes the victim is the last to know. That would suck to find out in suck a way, right? And she didn’t even sell 200K? Wow, cause it was a decent album. Well, she did try – again. But maybe she should take on new projects away from music.
