rapper M.I.A. introduced herself to Auntie Oprah at the Gala honoring Time’s 100 most influential people last night. I don’t get it. How is M.I.A. influential?
Celebrity stylist (ha ha haaaa) June Ambrose attended the “If You Give A Mom A Martini…” Book Launch at the Plaza hotel in NYC on Monday. June is known around the industry as a WWA — Woman With Attitude.
This has to be every woman’s worst nightmare — seeing industry bicycle Gabrielle Union posing in a photo with their men. The guy, by the way, is Deleon Tequila Founder and CEO Brent Hocking. They bumped into each other last night at the Deleon Tequila launch party at Chateau Marmont’s Bar Marmont in Hollywood.

The First Lady has proven a theory of mines that I have had for YEARS regarding hairdressers…
Sometimes…you can be with one TOO LONG!!! Because ever since she moved to D.C. and got a new hairdresser to replace ole boy who has been doing her do for almost 30 years….
Her hair has been ON POINT!!! Those edges are straight…its has WONDERFUL SHINE…it’s PERFECT!!!
And TOTALLY agree with you Auntie about M.I.A. (not gonna EVEN get into Ms. Thing’s messed up politics)

I use to use Phyto products before I went natural.
I do not like Oprahs hair straight and parted down the middle. Makes her look OLD IMO. When they add a lil bit of curl to it at the end that helps but still not my fav look on her.

MIA … speaks on an injustices overseas - I think she has a fashion line, and she produces, dj’s and sings. She is somewhat of a rebel … I remember some special on MTV that was discussing her. But that’s why she is influential, she uses music to share her experience as a Sri Lankan refugee.

Chrisette has been making rounds. She is not an A list star for the record co. to give her all the bells and whistles (esp. in this economy) of promotion but I knew her cd was coming out this week. I will make a copy of her cd from a co worker..lol Love her new single

A list in the sense you are worthy of such promo and $$ which Rihanna makes that list indeed she does.
Beyonce is NOT an A list singer IMO. She can sing but she is not on my A list. That would be Taisa, J Hud, Jill Patti, MC to name a few on my list.

I was watching (well not really) but my tv was on one of those Bet stations and they had the Gospel comp on a la American Idol. Can’t remember the name of it (big shock) but the two girls that were left were OFF THE HOOK.
They had to sing Yes Jesus loves me… that girl that sung 2nd out of the three. Man she made me take the covers off my head and watch that show. I kept thinking to myself. Why if women with such beautiful voices are out there do we have to be reduced to the likes of these mediocore singers. Is it the consumers fault? Or the record company?
