How To Style Your Own Hair Pt. 3 (quick weave)
Here’s part 3 in the popular YouTube series, How To Style Your Own Hair. This video is for those of you who, like me, have no clue what the term “quick weave” means.
Dade County Florida’s Geisha breaks the process down for us in simple layman’s terms so we can all understand — and maybe make a little fast cash on the side by quick weaving our friend’s hair.
In addition to being a kitchen quick weave specialist, Geisha is also a female emcee which kind of goes hand in hand with each other, doesn’t it?
Obama’s Credit Card
Barack Obama is asking Congress to pass a credit card reforms bill that would strengthen protections for Americans who are behind on their credit card bills.
A few of the restrictions being placed on what Obama calls “abusive credit card practices” are: a ceiling on credit card interest rates, a 30-day advanced warning before raising interest rates, and requiring CC companies to mail bills at least 21 days before the payment is due instead of the 14 days as they do now.
The reforms in Obama’s bill are expected to save Americans $15 billion each year on penalties and fees. “This is not free money; it’s debt,” Obama said. “And you shouldn’t take on more than you can handle.”
Oh really? Then why is that Obama has already tripled the budget deficit since taking office? This video breaks down how much of your money Obama has spent recklessly since becoming president. Please get your calculators ready.
Iman: “Michelle is not a great beauty; But she’s bright”

Supermodel Iman, who knows a thing or two about great beauty, says Michelle Obama is not one. I totally disagree! We all know that the fashion world’s standard of beauty is not a realistic one. And Iman should be ashamed of herself for applying that same standard of (artificial beauty) to the First Lady, who in my opinion is quite lovely.
“Mrs. Obama is not a great beauty,” Iman tells Parade.com. “But she is so interesting looking and so bright. That will always take you farther.”
“When you’re a great beauty, it’s always downhill for you,” she explains. “If you’re someone like Mrs. Obama, you just get better with age.”
Celebs Out & About: Jennifer Hudson

I almost typed “Star Jones” while captioning this picture of Jennifer Hudson, who appeared on The Today Show this morning. That would have been so wrong of me. It would have been equally as wrong for me to say anything out of the way about J-Hud’s outfit which she paired with those Broadway showgirl wedge heel sandals that would look better (or worse) on Beyonce.
And it wouldn’t be fair for me to say anything at all about her fiance Punk, of whom so much has been said already.

Has Alfamega Gone Deep Undercover in the Witness Protection Program?

As most of you know, Grand Hustle artist Alfamega didn’t make the trip to Miami for T.I’s going away festivities because he was terminated by the diminutive rap boss for lying on his job application.
Here’s what was told to me by an inside source: It seems that Alfamega got pinched by the feds back in the 90s for pushing weight in Florida (for real, unlike Rick Ross who lied about being a coke dealer). Alfa ended up doing way less time than he ought to have done because (allegedly) he started singing like a caged bird.
The song he was singing must have sounded like music to the feds’ ears, especially when he started crowing about the celebrities he was dealing coke to. Next thing you know, Alfamega is a free man, but still living large on his federally funded lifestyle (allegedly).
In short order, Alfamega started kicking it with rap crews again. Recording rap demos and partying hard with individuals who apparently were too dumb to notice anything odd about him, such as where he was getting his ends from. And why his associates were getting busted around him while he remained unscathed.
So fast forward to the early 2000s, and Alfamega sets up shop in Atlanta where he hooks up with Atlanta rap crews, including T.I. at Grand Hustle. I don’t know why “Block” of Block Entertainment’s name keeps coming up in all of this. But they say that Block did time with the same bodyguard who is responsible for T.I.’s gun troubles. That bodyguard was supposedly referred to T.I.’s camp by Block.
In light of all this recent drama, people are now saying Block is a federal snitch. But I don’t believe that for one minute though. Peep what Block’s disgruntled artist Yung Joc — who is suing Block for past due royalties — had to say about him in an interview with AllHipHop.com yesterday:
A lot of people don’t like to do business with him. Block don’t even go out in Atlanta; a lot of people don’t even know his face. And when you’re trying to do business, you can’t be a boss if people don’t f**k with you.
Now they say once a federal snitch, always a federal snitch. Soon after Alfa’s arrival in Atlanta, certain rappers and industry execs started getting busted by the feds left and right, and no one was the wiser. Especially T.I., who seems to be a very trusting sort. Bless his heart.
Anyway, now that Alfamega’s cover is blown, AHH’s purveyor of gossip, Ill Seed theorizes that the feds had to ghost Alfa out of town expeditiously. So Ill Seed claims the feds concocted a scheme to bust Alfamega publicly so he could go deep under cover into the witness protection program. Ill Seed’s theory sounds reasonable to me. That’s exactly how they do it in the movies.
Is Jay Z Too Demanding?

The Smoking Gun, which exposed the DEA connection to former Grand Hustle rapper Alfamega, has set it’s guns on Jay Z and his unreasonable backstage rider demands at last month’s University of Arizona concert.
Let’s not forget that Jay Z was supremely embarrassed when ticket buyers for that same concert failed to materialize and the promoter was left holding the bag, so to speak.
When Jay-Z headlined last month at the University of Arizona, the rapper banked a whopping $750,000 for his set. But the chart-topping performer did not get every perk requested in his concert rider, since the school does not provide artists with alcohol, tobacco, or $400,000 luxury vehicles. As seen on the following pages from his 2009 concert rider, Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Carter) demands that promoters provide him with ground transportation while he is in town performing. Specifically, the rap star requires a late-model black Maybach (either the 57 or 62 model) with tinted windows.
Carter’s dressing room (72 degrees, please) must be stocked with Sapporo beer, vodka, tequila, and two bottles of $300 Champagne. Oh, and the 39-year-old performer also needs two bottles (at $200 apiece) of 2004 Sassicaia, which his rider helpfully describes as a “Red, Italian Wine from Bolgheri Region.” Additionally, Carter requires “Good Quality” peanut butter and jelly, one martini shaker, 12 shot glasses, and a pack of Marlboro Lights.
I’m surprised he didn’t ask for a pack of Camel lights. I thought those were his favorites?
Celebs Out & About

Former lovers, rap icon Q-Tip and radio personality Angie Martinez (Hot 97), reminisced at the Home Cooking Thursdays event in NYC last night.

Actor/singer Tyrese Gibson cut a dashing figure at the Hollywood premiere of Warner Bros. “Terminator Salvation” at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre yesterday. They should name a candy bar with dark creamy chocolate and nuts after Tyrese.

R&B singer John Legend performed live at S.O.B.’s last night with the biggest fraud in Hip Hop, Rick Ross, who had the nerve to sport a Louis Vuitton belt after he was publicly backslapped by LV for wearing bootleg LV shades on the cover of XXL. We hope the belt was the genuine article for his sake.

Speaking of Louis Vuitton, British singer Estelle wore a LV scarf from the Stephen Sprouse collection to S.O.B.’s with shredded jeans, a cropped leather jacket and platform sandals. We’re glad to see that Estelle has curtailed her habitual Twittering over the past few days. We might even start following her again.

LOVE the shoes Estelle! Too hawt!

Old school rap legend Kwame, left, and Metrosexual DJ Unique attended the Friends Of Doe Celebrity DJ Series in NYC last night.

Actor Forest Whitaker dined with his daughter Sonnet Whitaker and anorexic wife Keisha at the “Mandela Day” Awareness Event at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills yesterday. If Forest took his wife to such dinner events 7 nights a week, maybe she would gain a few pounds. It’s just a thought.

Unemployed music mogul Jermaine Dupri made a few dollars spinning at T-Mobile’s Launch party in Houston for their new Sidekick LX 2009. Some of you know that I took off half a day on Wednesday to pick up my new SK LX 09 after dealing with the old LX’s crappy sound for 6 months. The new SK LX is a major improvement over the old one. Though the sound quality remains an issue with these phones. I still hear an echo in my phone when I’m on it. But the new features, including the free apps (mapping, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter), the 3G network, and the faster web surfing make up for the sound quality. I still don’t think the phone is worth $450 though.

Rapper T.I. (standing) and comedian Lil Duval chill at the poolside of T.I.’s rented manse in Miami last night. The manse owners could have at least cleaned out the pool for him. As you know, T.I. is throwing hella parties down in Miami this weekend before he enters the federal prison system later this month. A little birdie told me that T.I. will also host a private birthday party for his youngest son Major Philant, who turns 1 on Saturday. Photo: Twitpic
