Obama Cuts Federal Funding to Historically Black Colleges (how did I miss this one?)
While perusing the Black Voices forums I ran across this little tidbit of information about Barack Hussein Obama cutting federal funding to historically black colleges. I’m not surprised. This is the same president who killed the DC private school voucher program that mainly benefitted black students from DC’s poorest neighborhoods.
I can’t wait to see the excuses the Kool Aid drinkers give for this indefensible action by the Obama administration.
Leaders of historically black colleges say they’ll fight a reduction in a federal program they call a financial lifeline at a time of economic distress for the schools and their students.
President Barack Obama’s education budget, unveiled Thursday, included major spending increases in many areas — but didn’t include an extra $85 million that black institutions have received annually for the past two years thanks to a 2007 change to the student loan laws.
That two-year-old program provided direct funds to federally recognized HBCUs — historically black colleges and universities.
Other direct federal support to the schools would increase from $238 million to $250 million, but with the expiration of the HBCU fund the schools effectively would see a $73 million cut.A program supporting Native American tribal colleges would also see decreased funding, while one for institutions serving large numbers of Hispanic students would see an increase from $93 million to $98 million.
Education Department officials emphasized that all such institutions stand to gain from other parts of the budget, notably the proposed increase in the maximum Pell Grant for low-income students by $200 — to $5,550.
La La Vazquez Loses her cool
If you think it’s hard enough being an NBA baller (what with all those gold diggers running amok), think of how hard it must be for their fiancee’s and wives who sit in the stands of the opposing team’s arena.
Carmelo Anthony’s fiancee, LaLa Vazquez was so angry at the Dallas fans in the stands at the Nuggets vs. Mavericks game last night that she took a swing at one. No word on if she connected.
While Melo unsuccessfully tried to lead his Nuggets to a victory in Dallas, his fiance, LaLa Vazquez, who is ironically a judge on VH1′s “Charm School,” got into it with some people sitting near her. In the video, shot by KDFW in Dallas, a visibly upset LaLa can be seen trying to throw something and then cussing at security as they tried to get her to leave.
Common sense should dictate that the NBA owners need to provide security to protect the loved ones of the players who are subjected to hostile fans and verbal abuse in the stands.
Can Rick Ross Ever Tell the Truth?
It’s clear that Rick Ross is a psychopathic liar who wouldn’t know the truth if it walked up and bit him! First, he lied about being a corrections officer for the state of Florida. Then he lied about boosting his nom de guerre from the original Rick Ross (the notorious drug dealer) by claiming he never heard of him!
And earlier today, Ross was not entirely truthful in his response to the Louis Vuitton trademark violation controversy in his exclusive interview with Allhiphop.com.
Ross claimed the shades he wore on the cover of XXL were authentic LV shades that were “customized with solid gold accents by Jacob Bernstein, AKA ‘The Sunglasses Pimp.’ “
“It’s the same thing as buying a Rolls Royce and having it tricked out; just because the product has been customized by me doesn’t take away from the fact that the frames are authentic Louis Vuitton Millionaires,” Bernstein told AllHipHop.com. [LINK]
This is in direct contrast to what LV wrote in its complaint to the editors of XXL.

I would assume that Louis Vuitton execs are able recognize their own designer goods anywhere — even if it’s tricked out. Can you see now why certain brands don’t want to be associated with certain rappers?
Ciara Should Never Ever Sing Live Again
Lawd knows I didn’t want to post this video and subject your ears to this torture, but an industry friend (a male) called me just now and literally begged me to post this video of Ciara’s appearance on Jay Leno.
What is the problem with untalented individuals like Beyonce, Ciara, Keri Hilson, Ashanti and others who KNOW they can’t sing but choose to torture us anyway? Are they delusional or just in denial? Can we file charges against them for assaulting our eardrums? And what about the major labels who continue to market, finance and package this garbage to foist onto consumers like you and me?
Chris Brown’s gay dancers call Rihanna a “slut” and says she’s “crazy”!

As some of you know, the gloves have come off in the war between Rihanna and fading teen idol Chris Brown, whose career went AWOL after he beat RiRi down earlier this year.
First CB’s camp leaked racy photos of Rihanna in all her glory (and we thank them for that!) Then Rihanna fired back with a diss track calling CB a “silly boy” among other things. Well, bitch boy is due back in court any day now to answer to those domestic abuse charges, so he can’t exactly give RiRi that verbal beat down that you know he wants to. So his gay dancers, Toinne and Delicious, do all his talking for him in this video.
Rappers T.I. and Ja Rule Walk to End Gun Violence

Rappers T.I. and Ja Rule joined forces on Monday (5/11) for a New York Peace Walk, to honour two teenagers who were gunned down at the weekend. The MCs were joined at the Harlem rally by Reverend Al Sharpton, where they honoured the memories of 13-year-old Christopher Owen and 17-year-old Cory Squires. The artists and their followers then led the march up to 141st Street, where Squires was killed.
T.I., 28, has become an advocate for ending inner city violence since pleading guilty in March (09) to federal charges of possession of illegal firearms. He was arrested in October 2007 when he gave his bodyguard $12,000 to buy machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents. And the rapper, who is due to turn himself in for a year-long federal prison stint on May 19 (09), took the opportunity to urge youths not to pull a gun to settle their differences.
He said: “I carried guns and swung dope as a 13-year-old. I had my best friend taken away from me through guns. I was so hurt from the loss of his life, I didn’t take notice to the knowledge that I still had mine… you’re not just killing a man, you’re killing a family.”

Why do we act surprised when we Know the Hip Hop lifestyle is a fraud?
Louis Vuitton head honchos reached out to the editors of XXL magazine to express their displeasure at the cover featuring Rick “I ain’t no CO” Ross wearing a fake pair of Louis Vuitton shades. As if XXL editors are experts at distinguishing a rapper’s fake bling and fake accessories from the genuine articles.

We were dismayed to see the cover of the May 2009 issue of XXL Magazine, which features a photo of Rick Ross wearing a pair of sunglasses prominently featuring counterfeit Louis Vuitton trademarks. Because the photo has generated considerable confusion among your readers and Louis Vuitton customers among others, we feel it is important to clarify several points.
The first is that the sunglasses Mr. Ross is wearing were not made by Louis Vuitton, and in fact, are counterfeit. Louis Vuitton did not grant permission to Mr. Ross or to whoever did make the sunglasses to use our trademarks. The second is that no affiliation, sponsorship or association exists between Rick Ross or XXL and Louis Vuitton. The third is that counterfeiting is illegal.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to correct the confusion.
