Poor Gabrielle Union is about to go broke. In addition to being labeled the industry bicycle due to her rumored exploits with married men, she’s now claiming to be under attack by urban blogs. Mind you, no one would be talking about Gabby at all if it weren’t for these same blogs ‘attacking’ her.
Anyway, Gabrielle followed the advice of some legal goon who convinced her that she could win a defamation case against a certain blog that she claims slandered her good name. The only problem is that blogs, like all media, are protected under the First Amendment, which guarantees freedom of speech and freedom of the press.
Additionally, Gabby is a public figure who is considered to be “incapable of further defamation” — meaning that her reputation (as the aforementioned industry bicycle) is so poor that defaming her can do no further damage to her reputation (yes, the law actually recognizes people like that).

please. u one dimensional character acting clown. take that money and get some much needed acting lessons instead. how do we all look suing people for their opinions? i can understand rumors, but if any of the stuff is true, and u know it’s true, stop the madness and have a seat.
if you like getting lubed up by different guys, hey, that’s your business. when one of those guys or ur close girl friends decide to talk about u the way any real american would (behind your back), dont get mad at the bloggers. find out who in ur circle really dont like you and doing this to u. it’s not the bloggers love. ur circle of friends–they’re just not that into you.

Uh, that’s not true. Even the media can be sued for slander and defamation. Technically, if you knowingly print a lie the subject can come after you and win. With that said, Gabby never ceases to amaze me. I have yet to see a blog ruin someone’s career. She is ULTRA sensitive for a celeb. Why does she care so much? And if her so called friends know how sensitive she is why are they always telling her the bad things the blogs say about her. And why is she always posing for pics at the parties she goes to all around the world on the regular? It’s the partying that actually gives the blogs fuel. Single or not, at some point a lady gets to be too old be partying all the damn time. She really needs to sit down somewhere and stop sweating the small stuff.

Don’t real celebs not give a damn what is said about them? I thought the whole “bad publicity is better than none”, was their motto.
Team Gabby on this one! Fight the power IF its a lie. People have sued rag magazine’s and won so she can sue a blog and take her chances. If somebody has proof of her being an industry bicycle please release it. I am not even a big Gabby fan when it comes to her acting she IRKS me..lol always plays the same role…lol

Go Gabby I know exactly which blog your talking about, it’s one thing to have an opinion even if your not sure it’s based on truth, and then confusing the public by irresponsibly posting notes that are suppose to be from true sources. This cannot go on and I can see the law changing to help celebrities in the future. Unless the person can be traced NO BLOG should be allowed to post so-called real stories about celebrities. Anyone can make something up for many reasons and it’s becoming overwhelming.
*Yawn* If the rumor isn’t stopping her from working, why worry about it? Better be glad folks are talking about you.
She’s not suing all blogs, she’s suing one urban blog for posting something that was completely false and rejected by other blog outfits, so I can see why she would take legal action. People can say freedom of speech or that it comes with the territory of being a celebrity, but I think everyone has their limits and she’s reached hers.
The rumors surrounding her are particularly malicious, and if she is indeed suing B ossip, the few posts I’ve read about her on that site are unnecessarily vicious; but they claim their info is from “insiders.” I wish her luck.

Fortunate for most but unfortunate for Gabby, blog posts and comments come right along with being in the public eye. She missed the memo.
Gabby should strengthen her foundation and evolve into a bad b**** who could care less about what’s being blogged about her, and concentrate on shutting down gossip by displaying quality acting skills. Nothing changes perception like a display of impressive actions.
I think she’s doing this for the principle of it. Especially with a judge’s decision in that case going on in Las Vegas where an subpoena has been issued to a local news website to turn over IP addresses of commentors who made derogatory and libel remarks against two local politicians…it looks like things may soon change regarding freedom of speech, expression, online. Bloggers and commentors will be less protected by law for frivolous claims regarding public figures.
Go Gabby! I’ve never understood why folks clown her so much. I mean, if she’s such a hoe, then why aren’t more people coming out about it. I only hear that she’s a hoe in the same few places and its never substantiated with facts and real names. And its always the Black blogs. I don’t think the mainstream blogs know she exists.

I love Gabby I think she is intelligent and beautiful not LSLH as Sandra likes to call them so you’d think dhe could get some love.I read that letter on the other website and the author was definitely reaching. She supposedly only sent the letter b/c she Gabby was “TRYING” to get at her husband. If this is true she should have went to Gabby on some grown woman stuff. Ppl kill me calling celebrities easy like they know them. I have never seen her hop on or off pop so I can’t say. But at the end of the day Gabs is grown and it’s her stuff she can do with it what she pleases.
