Club Owner Threatens To Sue Beyonce

You can hire Beyonce to perform at your venue, but she might not show up. That’s the deal with M2 club in NY so they’re threatening to sue her ass. M2 contracted Beyonce to perform at their club tommrow night to kick off her North American tour, but Sasha cancelled on them at the last minute saying she didn’t have time for a show, but that she would come hang out for an hour instead. M2 was not having it. They say they’ve already sold tables for thousands of dollars, plus kicked out over 100 grand to rent soundboards, wind machines and lighting and stuff. The club is claiming a “loss of reputation” in addition to the cash spent. The owner was all like, “We had an overwhelming response from our clubgoers, who were lining up to buy tickets and tables. This will come as a great disappointment to all of them. If Beyonce cancels and doesn’t give us a new date, this hurts our credibility in nightlife.”
Here’s where I defend Beyonce for the first time ever on this blog: Why should she perform at some hole in the wall joint even for $200,000 when that’s no money to people on her level? If rappers such as T.I. and Lil Wayne can command fees of $150,000 just to show up and drink Patron in the VIP, why should someone of Bey’s caliber perform for a measly $50,000 extra? These nightclub owners have lost their minds.

& what idot books a star who is in the middle of a tour to perform? I think she was nice enough to say she’ll still show up. The people who brought tickets would be just as happy sitting in the same room as Bey as the would to see her hair blow. Use the wind machine to cool the place down. Cause you know their AC is probably busted.
I am still pissed as hail bout her and these damn wind machines….does she like her hair blowing that much or does she get that dayum hot??

She signed a contract. How long ago did she sign this contract and beyaki always tours. A contract is a contract. She’s an entertainer that always has alot going on, she shouldn’t of signed for it then, esp since its pocket $$ for her.

Umm Sandra sorry you’re wrong, the fee wasn’t hidden when Beyonce’s team signed that agreement, if it wasn’t enough cash they shouldn’t have entered into a legally binding contract. I say they sue to recoup their losses and for any possible damages their image receives as a result of this no show artists reneging on their contract.

Statement on Beyonce Launch Party Cancellation
NEW YORK, June 19 /PRNewswire/ — The cancellation of the launch party for Beyonce’s “I AM…” tour, first scheduled for this Saturday at M2, was a result of a breach of contract by the promoter. Beyonce never had a contract with the club itself and no one in her camp dealt directly with the venue. The superstar was never scheduled to perform but was to serve as a co-host and introduce singer/songwriter Solange’s performance. Patrons were falsely promised a performance by Beyonce.

This is the same thing they were doing at her pre/post party shows on her European leg of her tour. Solange did the performing, she just introduced her. I said $200,000 was kinda cheap for the likes of Beyonce as well.
bey dont perform in “clubs” anywayz so i wouldnt even believe it. she has a TOUR so aint no way she wasting a song to perform at some club! now they just get a cheaper version of bey…solange! who’s album was/is THE SHYT!!
Well if they sued they feel she signed a contract to perform so I say let the courts decide lol

I CALLED THE VENUE, THEY SAID SOLANGE IS PERFORMING TOMORROW NIGHT AND THAT I COULD PURCHASE A TICKET AT THE DOOR FOR $45. SO I AM GUESSING EVERYONE KNEW SOLANGE WAS PERFORMING LIKE THE ADVERT/FLYER SAID.

WELL HEARSAY IS A MUTHER DAISY, I GOT IT FROM THE HORSE’S MOUTH THAT SOLANGE WAS PERFORMING LIKE THE FLYER I SAW SAID. THE FLYER SAID SPEACIAL APPEARANCE BY BEYONCE, AND PERFORMANCE BY SOLANGE, THIS WAS BEFORE THIS SUPPOSED LAWSUIT THREAT. THEY HAVE BEEN DOING THE SAME THING SINCE THE EUROPEAN PART OF THE TOUR. MAYBE THE CLUBOWNER SHOULD GET DIFFERENT PROMOTERS FOR HIS CLUB.
