Do you watch True Blood?

Loyal reader, BevG, emailed me to say her daughter is a big fan of a show called “True Blood.” I’ve never heard of the show but I told her I would look into it. Coincidentally, blogger Perez Hilton has a post up about “True Blood.” Do you watch the show?

Over 3.7 million viewers tuned in to watch the premiere, which caused the ratings to go up 157% from the first season’s premiere. Shall they thank the Twilight fans for that?

And it seems the show’s DVD sales are doing pretty good as well!

In fact, True Blood: The Complete First Season DVD has sold over 1 million copies!

The disc set was released four weeks ago and has already made $35 million in total sales.

Disclaimer: I was not paid a dime to write this post, but I can’t say the same about Perez.

F*ck yea!!! How excited I was when I saw it wasn’t Lafayette in that car. Tara & Lafayette are my fav. I’d like to know what’s the deal with that woman who seems to be a walking aphrodisiac lol.

I love the show … especially Lafayette and Tara (both Black). There’s a new Black guy this season. A love interest for Tara.

Everybody (Black & White) got upset when they thought it might be Lafayette in the car. In the book, he died.

    @ CoCo…

YOU THOUGHT THAT WAS LAFFY TOO?!?! Girl, I was on HBO’s website WITH A QUICKNESS after that show letting the writer know that if Laffy goes…I GO!!!

I LOVE Alan Ball the creator of the show…I have been a major fan of his since “American Beauty” and “Six Feet Under”…and Anna Paquin (Sookie) has been my girl ever since she starred in and won an Oscar for “The Piano” when she wasn’t even 12 years old…

So…yes, I LOVE me some “True Blood”…even got my best friend and my guy hooked on it…

it was interesting in how they turned it around , I can’t wait to see what else they change . Charlene Harris is a great author ,and her last book was off the chain.

Cinnamon, I stopped reading the book series (read first and second) because I don’t want to know what happens. I may start again since Alan Ball isn’t following them that closely.

True Blood is my show but I’m not impressed with Season 2 so far. I also was like they better NOT kill Lafayette DAMNIT!! I don’t want him to be a vampire though.

I don’t know why but Jason is my favorite character. Tara is my favorite female character.

    Shauny says:

Oh and True Blood is NOTHING like Twilight. The similarities end ate female human falls for male vampire.

Dammit I hope he doesn’t die any time soon then. He’s way too entertaining.

But please let him out that dungeon. There’s something about a black man being chained up like that…well in the words of Tara.. it ain’t riiight!

Jason is a mess … lol. Remember when he had to go to the doctor because he couldn’t get rid of his erection. ROFL

I never heard of the show. I have HBO but could not tell you what channel it comes on. Give me my cooking channel, both my lifetime, soapnet and CNN and I am fine. Of course my local channels. Have to watch the news to see if there’s a seriel rapist or a video of a bank robber. I supplement my income by checking to see if I know these ppl so I can annoymously get the reward money. Sike, I just want to know what’s going on in my hood.

I’ll take the WIRE over TRUE BLOOD! LOL

I liked the WIRE too, but the show has been over for almost a year. Oh yeah, DVDs … I don’t buy them.

    The Divine Ms. K says:

I JUST got caught up in this show and I love it! Can someone tell me why Lafayette is locked up in the dungeon? Is it because he was dealing the vampire blood?

Yeah, I’m wondering what the deal is with Mary Anne too. She seems to be very keen on Tara and Jerome hooking up – I’m wondering why….

  24. 24
    Shauny says:

The WIRE!!! Still mad at the way they took Omar out and let Marlo live but that show was FIRE!!! It’s gone, let it RIP.

I think Laffy is locked up for dealing the blood.

I want to know what in the hell is MaryAnn. Whatever she is, sex has a lot to do with it. Remember she slept with Sam when he was a boy and she wants Tara and Jerome to get it on. That’s the best story they have going now.

But didn’t they kill Lafayette in the last episode? Did I not see those vampires tear into his arse at the end?

  26. 26
    SunnyPA says:

    @AlwaysSweet

I read an interview with the actor who plays Lafayette. He said that he’s been signed for the season. I guess he becomes a vampire.

    TRUEBLOOD FANATIC! LAFAYETTE……enough said.
