Gravatars are now mandatory
I’ve been meaning to enforce this policy but I never got around to it. After today, all of my registered members must have a Gravatar pic in their profiles. No exceptions. It is preferable that you use your own photo as opposed to an object or thing.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Registered members, please click here to sign up with the Gravatar.com service. You will be asked to provide an email. That email should be the same one you used when you registered with Sandrarose.com.
Next, upload a pic by clicking on the Add a new image button and choosing either a photo on the Internet or a photo from your computer. Then click NEXT.
You can crop the photo by clicking and dragging the tiny squares over your pic. Click Crop and Finish when you are done cropping the pic.
Choose a rating for your Gravatar pic (most people choose G)
This next part is important: you will be prompted to choose an email addy for the pic. You must choose the addy that corresponds with the one you used to register on Sandrarose.com.
Click Use For Selected Address, and you’re done! It may take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour or more before you see your pic show up on Sandrarose.com.

@Sandra, haven’t read my comments. Even though SR are my initials, I am tired of the default profile picture. I have been trying to add a profile. Helllooooo!!!! I asked for help!!!! WT___??? Sandra, I believe kcicero wrote out those detailed instructions (at least when I saw them she did). I haven’t seen her posting lately.
Make sure the email in your gravatar is all lowercase. That was my issue.
@ masonmom: I think the problem is that you might not be selecting the correct email address to sync with your avatar. The email address must be the same email addy you used to register on this blog. For instance, in your case, you must login to your account on Gravatar.com, upload your pic and choose your .gov email addy as your default. Sometimes it takes 30 minutes to an hour for the avatar pic to show up.

you can register with multiple email addys on Gravatar.com as long as you can receive confirmation emails from Gravatar.com at that address. Then use the email addy that you want to register with on different blogs. But your pic won’t show up here unless you use the same email addy that you registered with here as your default.

You are registered on this blog with a yahoo addy. Just log into your account at Gravatar.com and add your yahoo email addy to your list. Then upload your pic to Gravatar.com and when prompted, simply select the yahoo addy to assign to that pic.

Its telling me that the yahoo addy I used is not in there system and then I requested a new password to be sent to me using the Liyah74 username but I am not sure what e-mail I used. It said it sent me the password but I looked at the two e-mail addresses I have. Neither one of them have the new password.

Daisy, you should try deleting the current picture you have now from the gravatar account. That helped me solve my Kool aid problem.

Be patient grasshopper. It might take up to an hour for the pic to show up across all their servers.

I aint a techie, but I am a proud Treckie! ENTERPRISE!!! If you check only the temp int files when you go to delete your passwords and what not should be fine. I use IE 8. Went to safety, delete browsing history, and only checked temp int files, make sure cookies and all the rest are unchecked except for the preserve passwords option, you want to make sure that 1 is checked as well. If youre using IE 7 go to tools, internet options, delete, and its the same thing only check the delete temp internet files options…Hope that makes since.

If ur having trouble getting a new gravi, clear your catch. And each time you choose a new pic for your gravi, you have to confirm your email address. Sometimes it takes a while, and make sure its the email address u use to post on here.

Made4 .. mine IE has a link at the tip of the screen in one of the tool bars .. it is a drop down labeled tools … then you select internet options then look for browsing history .. and click on that .. then you’ll click on cleare temp files .. and or cookies
make sure that your email address for sandrarose is all lower case…that was the problem that i was having when i first tried.

To clear your cache….go to tools at the top of your thingy…idk whats its called sorry, but its on the top w/ file, edit and em. Then click on it, the scroll down and click on internet options. Then click on where it says browsing history, click delete, you see temporary browses history, cookies, forms etc. I personally deleted temp internet files, and cookies, but i usually only delete cookies

Well i tried several times today, and it hasn’t worked. So i guess i won’t be able to comment.
But anyways, i’m not stupid sandra, that’s not the reason you are demanding a gravatar. I noticed most of the sites i’ve been on lately are asking that people use gravatars (but at least they aren’t making it mandatory). I think the reason for this is so that those who own the blog sites can track people and see whose who, because that same gravatar would identify you, no matter what site you go on.
But anyways, i did try, but it didn’t work. I’m not very computer literate and i get frustrated easy as you can see.
