FanMAIL: ‘Malik Is A Wonderful Friend’

Remember that photo I posted of Malik Yoba with his kids and a female friend? Well, I misidentified the woman in the photo. Actually, she’s a New York Socialite named Brie Bythewood who wrote in to clear the air on her relationship with Malik.

Brie lives a fabulous, wealthy lifestyle that the FAKE Housewives of Atlanta can only dream about. In addition to having money, Brie also possesses that certain style and grace that the Fake Housewives simply do not have. That’s why the show is losing viewers every week.

But this post is not about those losers. This is about a biracial Socialite who mingles easily with the old money elite of New York’s upper crust society. Brie never looks out of place. She is as at home on the Bridgehampton Polo fields as she is on the streets of Manhattan. Nevertheless, you will never see Brie cast in the NY Housewives because Bravo doesn’t want you to know that black women with long money like hers exist.

Hello Sandra,

Before I receive anymore comical emails about your post, I thought I’d set your record straight and help you out a bit with the accuracy of your “Celebrity Seed.” It seems you’ve got your facts a tad twisted. I’m the girl in the picture with Malik Yoba at Polo in Bridgehampton. My name is Brie Bythewood (you can Google to assure you’re not attaching my name to the wrong person), and I’m a good friend of Malik’s as is my brother Dan Bythewood (also photographed). Malik is a wonderful friend to our family as we are to him and his children, whose names are Pria Yoba and Josiah Yoba.

I’m hoping you’ll make the appropriate corrections to your site, as we’d ALL appreciate it!

Just helping you out a bit with your celebrity dish… so it doesn’t turn into just another typical gossip site!

Kind Regards,
Brie Bythewood
