No surprise here: “Run This Town” is simply awful — even with Superstar Rihanna’s supporting vocals.

When three artists who have all had 10 or more top 10 hit singles and are arguably all at the top of their game collaborate for a high profile single, you might think it would be the biggest new release of the week. However, when you go up against the hottest teen artist with a little bit of the wind of controversy at her back, then you’ll just have to sit in the back seat and watch. That’s the story behind the first week sales battle between “Run This Town” by Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West and Miley Cyrus’ latest “Party In the USA.”

The hottest new song in the country is Miley Cyrus’ latest “Party in the USA” [with] an expected 200,000 copies sold.

“Run This Town” is the second single from Jay-Z’s upcoming album The Blueprint 3. Billboard estimates the song will sell a total of 150-170,000 copies in its first week… Not shabby at all, but not good enough to be the hottest new single around.
