Earlier I wrote that singer/songwriter The Dream was named Executive Vice President of Def Jam replacing Chris Hicks who took over the job from the late Shakir Stewart. That was incorrect, according to The Dream.

About an hour ago, he tweeted this message on his Twitter account:

I did not replace him At DEF JAM he’s the EVP of DEF JAM RECORDS and I AM EVP of ISLAND RECORDS…. To all being negative is out of style!

Singer/songwriter The Dream has been named Executive Vice President at Island Records, according to a message he posted on his Twitter account earlier today. The Dream will oversee development of new talent at the label.

The Dream thanked everyone at Island Records and his girlfriend Christina Milian, who is now completely brunette and almost forgotten. He wrote: “I look forward to the challenge of rebuilding music for not only Island Rec. But for Universal Records as a whole. Today I’m humbled and blessed.”

He earlier promised to call it quits when his next album “Love King” is released. Hopefully, Island Record’s artists won’t adopt the singer’s signature sound. All of The Dream’s tracks sound exactly the same, which can get monotonous.
