I read somewhere that hood rat “rapper” Nikki Minaj officially signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Records. So I searched the nets for a sample of her “music” — now I wish I hadn’t. It’s unbelievable the garbage that’s passing for music nowadays, LOL. I stopped this video at 44 seconds. Her voice made my ears bleed.

I read somewhere that Lil Wayne is adding all these people to build his roster so investors will continue to back his Young Money Rec…for him actual talent is optional. If you have a buzz, he probably will sign you.

Thanks for the update I didn’t know she had a video out. Will check that out tonight. Mary gets a lot of flack because she doesn’t want to sing those heartbreak songs anymore. I’ve even heard people say she needs to get back on drugs.. How mean is that. I’m a die hard fan so I may be biased sometimes but I love all her albums. Not all the songs but in a whole I’ve grown with her.

I agree with you the new single isn’t that great. But she always drops a song like that first. Fast track w. Rapper.

as far as female rappers go there has been a major void for a long long time. i am not feeling nikki all that much but she is okay i guess. maybe somebody REAL hot will take the industry by storm. until then…we stuck with nikki.

Ice we had this convo before and I said its not about her singing sad love songs (although that is her best work IMO) I just want her to make HAWT songs and I will give her credit she had some nice songs on her last cd so I will more than likely pick up this cd when it drops later on this year. I know some of her old die hard fans do want her to go back to being sad n blue and that is not where she is anymore so the emotion would no longer be there. I am def team MJB. I have a cuz that STANS for her and she would not have it any other way lol

I don’t know how much more of the Frankie & Neffie show I can take. Frankie at that radio station was such a sad sight. She came across to me a lil jealous of Neffie. & just like with those CEO jobs being handed out to rappers who probably didn’t graduate from highschool yet alone college. I hope they didn’t give Frankie a job on the radio, just because. There are people who bust their arse in school trying to get where being a loud mouth ex? Crackhead has gotten her. & she wasn’t even good at the advice with her twisted mouth.. Looking like her false teeth were about to fall out her head.

People kill me with hip hop is dead…blah blah blah…..hip hop is very much alive. the only thing dead is artist making money off of album sales do to youtube, google, itunes, limewire and other sites for streaming music. theres no need to go out and buy a cd n e more. people expect for music to stay the same. why? its suppose to evolve. artist are making more money in the entertainment biz then ever before. whether its thru endorsemnts or movies. all because they’re recognized by the people who listen to their music. times have changed and so has music. im sure people in the 60’s feel as though music from the 80’s is garbage. maybe in the next 5+ years music will go back to how some want it to be. just like hairstyles and clothes change over time but always seems to find its way back after some years.

@Ice you know I watch frankie n neffie and I was to through she had the babies eating on the floor. I know she could afford a darn table before Frankie bought her one lol I doubt Frankie gets her on radio show but she is on the radio here every Thurs for a few hrs. She is a FOOL lol

Nikki reminds me of a female version of Wayne before the syrup and drugs completely took control of his brain. Nikki is marketing material. shes hot right now and wasnt even signed to a label yet. whether people think its because shes hot or because she can rhyme. either way shes marketable. folks miss the point of hip hop. its not just rap or signing. its a culture of hair, make up, attitude, dancing, fashion, language etc. its a platform for expressing yourself.

i see young males and females who rise up out the hood and become millionaires and just wealthy in general all from hip hop. if anything hip hop has evolved more than ever. in the 80’s you didnt see to many chinese, asain, spanish, jamaican, white, etc races enjoying hip hop. now you have all these races into hip hop. all races tryna rap, dance and dress like hip hop. it is very much alive.

Artist become known thru a fan base. If no one enjoyed their music they wouldn’t be known. the entertainment business is making money because they’re giving consumers what they want. they cater to the people not the people cater to them.

I did not see the part of them eating off the floor, I changed the channel after Frankie was taking questions on the radio. Who the hell is going to call her for any kind of advice. This show really is not a reality(duh) no child is going to take an expensive gift from their crackhead mother. I know it was just a table and the show paid for it but the show is a mess. When Frankie was being interviewed she said something about being 50 and never having a job. Who the heck is going to hire someone with no job skills? I wish they would quit egging her on because she is going to fall hard when the show has ran it’s course and little clubs stop inviting her to be their form of entertainment.

Ugghhhhh! Sandra we agree on something! I loathe Nikki and her voice. She started out talking about she was Wayne’s mistress. I thought her rapping was a joke. I guess anybody can rap and it doesn’t hurt if you are easy on the eyes and sex sells. I saw her in the Lil Kim squat pose and was annoyed. No originality! Kim sold sex but she had great delivery…….
