Source: Shawty Lo Hospitalized?
According to a source inside rapper Shawty Lo’s camp, the former D4L member was hospitalized Tuesday night with a serious infection.
The 33-year-old trap star, whose real name is Carlos Walker, is a brittle type I diabetic, according to friends. Shawty Lo Atlanta rap group D4L in 2003 with Fabo. He has struggled with rumors that he had AIDS for years. But according to friends, Shawty Lo does not have HIV.

I was labeled as a “Brittle” Type 1 Diabetic when I was younger - they don’t use that term anymore today, because it implies that your sugar levels cannot be controlled. They can, but I’m sure a rapper’s lifestyle does not make it easy.
But, regardless, I pray for his well-being. I know how sick and crappy that ish can make you feel.

Diabetes is a very hard disease on the body. It attacks your other organs as well. You also deal with slowness to heal. He may have an infection because something is taking too long to heal.
@intensemocha Please don’t jump on me BUT irregardless is not a word. I’m a teacher and that is one of those words that many people use incorrectly. Just like conversate. The verb is converse.
My dad was a very bad diabetic and I am praying for Shawty Lo as well. I know how it can affect the body.

See the thing about this is… I remember the rumors of him having AIDs back before he was “Shawty Lo”; he was just Carlos from Bowen Homes. He used to be a lot heavier and lost a lot of weight in a matter of months & had sores on the back of neck back when “The Bounce” (club) was poppin. This is something I saw myself. My ppl just told me don’t sleep w/ him. They were cool w/ him but the rumor was enough to make them look out. Better safe than sorry. Either way, hope he feels better.
