I loved it and enjoyed it But i thought i was watching repeats of the Tiny&Toya show because the music and some of the scenes was identical. Must have the same producers.

I watched a few minutes of the show. I liked how she was kind of down and called her fiance’ and he cheered her up. I also like how she does shows at places ppl would not expect. She really does love her fans and reaches out to all of them.

Pinky I agree, I love Monica and tried to watch the whole thing but it literally put me to sleep. My daughter said she hopes it gets better too. Sadly I think part of the problem is she is trying to live right and drama free just doesnt make for good tv. On the other hand IMO like all reality show in the begining, the subjects are very “on” and aware of the cameras. I am not saying phony but you know. The shows always improve when they get used to it all and just act real.

As for the show, I didn’t even know it was coming on. Why is it I can see advertisements for shows on other networks for a different network, yet I don’t see the same for BET? Do they not have any decent partnerships or quality sister channels they could advertise the other shows that cater to the other demographic groups?

I surely hope I don’t seem that way. I have a lot of friends that have children. My sister was a baby momma until she married him. My other sister IS a baby momma.

Although, NOT having kids up to this point has been no accident. Sometimes, I wish I would’ve had kids earlier.

East DRAMA as always made for GREAT TV BUT that doesnt mean Monica had to act a fool per say I was not expecting that but the show was a little slow n dry to me. Her hr long show earlier this yr was much better and entertaining. I will watch again but I need it to pick up.

I didn’t think it was boring. I liked how her man talked to her and I love seeing celebs in the studio. I like watching the music come to life.

On the other hand, I hate watching Neffe and Frankie doing nothing all day but crying, getting pregnant, and trying to find who in the hell knocked Frankie up some years back. Those losers don’t do ANYthing that interests me. Having a baby? Any woman can do that. Arguing and being overly dramatic? Anyone can do that too. That’s boring to me. Watching people do stuff that I can do if I just raise my voice and think sad thoughts is BORING.

But I like Monica’s show because anyone can’t get in the studio and blow. Anyone can’t get a nice home built from the ground up. Monica was doing stuff that the average (Frankie and Neffe) person’s not doing. THAT I like. I like the fact that although Monica is not married, her kids are for the same man and she’s not wasting her valuable time crying and screaming behind some loser who doesn’t want her(Neffe). Frankie and Neffe gave us enough ghetto down trotten memories to last a life time.

Housewives of ATL wasn’t much better with the mentally unstable Kim and NeNe.

I loved the show and her energy. She came across on the show as a real down to earth person. I fell out when she said she wanted to put “futons” in the rooms. It also made me like Rocco for her. She seems so in love. I saw some pics of them at her BDay party all hugged up I love that loving feeling and love to see others have it as well.

Oh and all the judgemental people who judge someone because of a choice THEY made with THEIR body can kick rocks!

I’ve never watched Frankie and Neffie (couldn’t bring myself to) and only caught a semi marathon of 3 shows of Tiny and Toya. I think RHOA and Bad Girls Club are the only trainwrecks I watch (and there’s usually only 1 or 2 non yt’s on BGC). I guess after a while I tire of coonery. I can watch a couple of episoded of a For the love of, Flavor of, Real Chance of, them I forget to tune in. I only need to know who won.

I HATED both Ambers BUT I did like the Amber that beat up KC. I wanted to beat her ass myself. How she let Amber choke her out like that. I laughted for WEEKS after that show. I liked Tiffany right up until the finale. I think she wanted to come and do the right thing on the show but made mistakes, felt bad, then tried to fix them. She was throwing up gang signs on the reunion show and I didn’t care for her from that point on. She’s on a video of K’Jon’s (The Ocean…FYE song).

This years BGC looks like it’s going to be good. Can’t wait.

Seems like majority on here liked the show. As a fan I enjoyed it, but I thought it was a bit slow. I used the word boring to someone else, but it wasnt boring. Just a bit slow…maybe becuz I knew the history behind the music and album. I think this first episode was moreso a reintroduction of Monica to the public. Like, this is who I am, this is where Ive been, and this is where im trying to go. Im sure the “drama” will come in the next few episodes.
But dont expect ghetto cuz thats not what she is…at all

Also, Im so glad that BET is allowing MOnica to put on a positive family driven show. ALthough I dont KNOCK Frankie and Neffie, cuz I know plenty Frankie and Neffies in real life…HOWEVER, there are not (hell if any) positive images of black women on reality television. Married or not, Monica embodies a hard working, intelligent, everyday black woman. I really hope people lay the fu&*K off her after this show.

I understand when you say you surround yourself with only positive so thats the show. And thats how it should be. With that being said, life will still present its tests and trials. I want to see how you handle those both the average that we all deal with and the ones we can’t imagine because we aren’t recording artists. That will make for a good tv show.
Also agree with point about music today. I saw you want to do ballads and thats great can’t think of many who’d do it as well but I also would love to hear some QUALITY uptempo stuff 70’s 80’s style, ala Chaka, Envogue, even some I guess you would call mid tempo like Mary Jane Girls, Teena Marie, Mary,You(just one dem days)

my apologies for the delay in response, Lil Rocko and i were going over his homework. @iscream. i do not have your book.. i love to read, but i havent had much time to do it lately. and it hasnt been stressful balancing it all. but it is really hard to unwind. so ive been doing things that i dont normally do.i take walks, or after the boys are asleep i turn everything off and think and pray. as parents we have to steal the little moments but it sure does help

I just watched because nothing was on my t.v. I have to say I liked it. She has a realness like Keisha Cole, but none of the drama. It doesn’t seem to be anything like the other BET reality shows from what I see so far. I appreciate the fact that she doesn’t have a heavy accent like a couple of people on another BET show. I found it hard to understand them at times. I’ll definitely watch again. She seems like a great mom.

I enjoyed the show. The kids are so precious. I really enjoyed seeing them. I hear you when it comes to those moments. Because of the age of the boys, do you think you will bring them along, when you go into HEAVY promo for the album? I was happy to see your mom come by, reminds me of the support my mother is with my daughter.

@Isc- I bypass the comments made about single mom’s because people love to critique the story of another. Especiallym, without even thinking about what its really like to walk a mile in the shoes of that person. IMO people should talk less and observe more,you learn this way.

Monica handled the hate from the beginning. Takes skills. I think the other live chats had problems because they got overwhelmed and defensive. They should have taken on question at a time. The short answers highlighted that the chatters still need to mature and are not ready for the people.

Jamie Foxx is at his best when he’s doing slapstick comedy. This dramatic role was very complex and demanding for him. But he pulled it off really well. Go see this movie. You will be startled by the intensity of it. I’m usually running my mouth during movies and my friend is usually telling me to hush. But last night I was speechless. Excellent movie!

I think Jamie is a good actor. One of the better ones actually. He transitioned nicely from comedy to drama. He was good in Collateral, Kingdom, Jarhead, Dreamgirls, and the Tookie Williams story. Those are just the ones I remember. I haven’t seen Law Abiding Citizen yet though.
