Nas & his ignorant letter will be discussed on CNN today

I just got off the phone with a producer from CNN/HLN who asked if I cared to discuss Nas’ ignorant letter to the savages in Chicago on CNN’s Headline News today.

She said I would join of panel of such distinguished guests as Jesse Jackson and others. And she asked If I would give my perspective on Nas’ ignorant letter from a Hip Hop perspective.

When she said I would be on camera in the studio, naturally I declined. The simple fact is I am not uniquely qualified to speak on the subject of Hip Hop. I certainly didn’t want to embarrass myself on national TV trying to sound like an expert on Hip Hop when I don’t even listen to the garbage on the radio anymore.

But I appreciate CNN/HLN reaching out to me today. It means I’m doing something right! The segment airs at 5:30 p.m. today on Headline News. Be sure to watch!

Nasir is far from ignorant he has been dropping knowledge from day one he is far from perfect but he is one of view that can kick some truth to the young black youths

I can’t believe you turned them down! Do you know the exposure that would’ve given you??? You know enough to make these post blaming hip hop for the downfalls of the youth.

Next time take the offer and if they ask you something you are not sure of… simply say I’m not qualified to speak on that but…. and change it to something along the lines that you know.

I’m saddend by this. I would’ve been hype to see you on tv in action..

I think I do OK. CNN reads my blog don’t they? If I opened up registration you would see just how well my blog is doing. But then you wouldn’t be happy with all the rejects from down the block coming in here trashing the place.

First ESPN on the Mike Vick story and now CNN. More proof that you are the bomb even if you never take them up on it.

As for Nas, I am no fan. He is a man who professes to spread knowledge when he just doesn’t seem that knowledgable to me. I have a really hard time respecting him. That being said, I didn’t find anything wrong with his letter and wish more of these rappers would speak out against violence in our communities rather than glorifying it like that usually do.

Sandra and Bird Nas is very knowledgeable IMO on Africa, social issues and history he dropped out of high school but that doesn’t mean he isn’t smart in certain areas and topics.
