Live Chat: Kandi Burruss, Tomorrow!

Former Xscape singer and Grammy winning songwriter Kandi Burrus has graciously agreed to participate in a live chat tomorrow right here on Sandrarose.com!

As you know, Kandi and the rest of her RHOA castmates will shoot the season Finale show tonight at an undisclosed location.

R&B Diva Monica and legendary rapper Mia X kicked off the Live Chats on SR last week, and they will make their chats a monthly feature! Last week’s chat went very well considering it was the first one we ever did.

In the meantime, on occasion, surprise celebrity guests stop by, like Kandi (it was a surprise to me because I didn’t think she would do it!)

Of course, that means Kandi will only answer comments from my registered members, although everyone else is free to lurk and read.

So get your questions ready and later on I will let you know the time of tomorrow’s chat!

Special thanks to legendary industry veteran Lisa McCall for making it happen!

Obama, One Step Closer To Legalizing Marijuana

Barack Obama issued a new marijuana policy that will go into effect today in 14 states. The new policy means federal agents won’t lock up pot smoking patients or their sanctioned medical weed suppliers.

Medical marijuana is so named because it relieves the chronic pain and other symptoms of terminal illnesses such as cancer.

Of course that means most drug spots in the hood, such as car washes and strip clubs, will now be converted to sanctioned medical marijuana suppliers. This is just the first step to legalizing marijuana in every state.

How is that Hope & Change working out for you now?

TLC Work It Out

Are TLC members Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, left, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas auditioning for celebrity fit club? They sure look like it as they sucked in their tummies while performing in Las Vegas over the weekend.

The ladies joined Justin Timberlake and Ciara for “Justin Timberlake and Friends” charity concert in Vegas. Chilli has her own reality TV dating show airing soon on VH1. Hopefully, TLC fans will support their girl in her endeavor.

Sean Garrett Says Usher’s New Track is Not About Tameka (yeah, right)

In an interview with People magazine, singer/songwriter Sean “The Pen” Garrett said Usher’s new track “Papers” is not about Usher’s old ball and chain Tameka Foster.

“Some of it is true, and some of it isn’t,” Garrett says. “That’s what makes this record so intriguing and explosive. Some of it is about his life and some of it is not.”

Garrett said he penned the line about Usher “damn near” losing his mama, not Usher.

“That was more from the perspective of when Usher and his mom [and sometime manager] weren’t working together that much. And, in every relationship, it’s important for the man to get his mother’s approval. That’s the perspective I was coming from,” said Garrett.

Gareett said he wrote the tune 8 months ago, way before Usher’s divorce filing. But everyone knows that Usher and Tameka were a foregone conclusion around that time. He admits that Usher “inspired” his words in the song.

“He definitely had a lot on his mind,” Garrett says. “We talked about this record coming out quite a few times. ‘Should it come out? Should it not come out?’ We had questions about how it would be taken.”

There is also word out of Usher’s camp that Usher was “urged” to make that recent call to 911 himself to publicly humiliate his estranged wife Tameka Foster. Normally, calls of that nature are handled by Usher’s assistant or manager — that would be his mom.

Garrett said the ultimate decision to release the track came from Usher’s label. “We knew it was a smash,” says Garrett.

What exactly constitutes as a smash? “Papers” debuted on the Billboard Top 100 chart at #17 and tumbled all the way to #60 after only 2 weeks on the chart. I would hardly call that a “smash.” But then again, I didn’t write it.

DMX Incites Riot in Colorado

This is what happens when rappers set their clocks to CP time. DMX strolls into a Colorado venue an hour and a half late. Then he expected to saunter onstage and rock the mic. Except that the mall police shut him down. Of course a riot ensues when the concert goers who paid for their tickets were told the show was over.

Mike Tyson Comments On Youth Violence in Chicago

After chewing the fat with former boxing champ Evander Holyfield on Oprah last week, boxing legend Mike Tyson, in his own unique, inimitable language, speaks on the youth violence that plagues Chicago.

As you know, Barack Obama cut his political teeth in Chicago. We’re wondering why Obama hasn’t been back home yet to speak on the violence himself?

But he can run to Denmark to make a failed pitch for the Olympics. And he can rush to Oslo, Norway to accept up a Nobel peace prize that he knows he didn’t earn. I guess those trips are way more important than addressing a city with the highest youth murder rate in the country.

Ma$e Bum Rushes Sean Combs On Ryan Cameron Show

In what is obviously a staged publicity stunt (yawn), newly signed Bad Boy artist (lol) Ma$e bum rushes rap mogul Sean Combs during the Ryan Cameron Show on V-103. I don’t believe for a minute that Sean Combs didn’t know Ma$e was in the building. Does anybody care that rapper-turned-pastor-turned-rapper again, Ma$e has a new record deal? I thought so.
