Majority of Nobel Jury Objected To Obama Prize
According to online reports, three of the five members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee vigorously objected to Barack Obama winning the Nobel peace prize. I know they did.
The entire world (except for the Kool Aid drinkers) are staggered that a first-time president, who did absolutely nothing but read off a teleprompter, has won the prestigious prize.
The last two sitting presidents to win the prize actually ended world wars. And of course, Martin Luther King’s contributions to civil rights is unparalleled by anything Obama has done.
The reality is Obama won for not being George Bush — and for having a better speech writer.
Mario’s Album Flops (Aww, that’s too bad)
Last night during Monica’s live chat on my blog, I learned that singer Mario’s album that went on sale on Tuesday will flop with expected sales in the 20-25k range. Aw, that’s too bad. One of my readers attributed the flop to lack of promotion. She said she wasn’t aware the album was even coming out until it went on sale on Tuesday, lol.
Heads will roll in the marketing dept. at J Records after the final sales figures come out. I can understand why the label chose not to buy ad space on this blog. Especially since my readers outed their artist some time ago. But from a marketing standpoint, it was a miscalculation since Mario’s fans frequent this blog too. Why not put your artist in front of his fans wherever they may be?
Oh well. I’m still going to go out and buy Mario’s CD because we need to support our struggling R&B artists (except for Ash Trey Song, fukk him).
Celeb Style: Monica!
Last night R&B Diva Monica took the time out of her busy schedule to come join us in a live chat here on Sandrarose.com. Monica signed in at 8:32pm and proceeded to answer questions from my readers, some of whom stayed for hours after work for the chance to chat with her!
Monica was so kind to agree to participate in a live chat with my readers every 2nd Thursday or Friday of every month. The chats will include legendary rapper Mia X, who couldn’t make last night’s chat due to computer problems.
The ladies will pose questions to my readers in an effort to resolve the ongoing social issues we as black women have with each other. We are the only race that continuously holds each other down which limits our ability to grow to our full potential.
Last night’s question focused on the need for some chicks to manufacture wholesale lies that cause irreparable damage to another person’s life just for their own personal enjoyment. It’s sick and it’s a problem that needs to be addressed.

On the style front, I received a few emails from readers asking if I knew the brand of boots that Monica wore in a recent photo shoot.

Jon Gosselin: ‘I was just taking my paycheck out’
What a moron Jon Gosselin is. After meeting with an arbitration judge yesterday, he was ordered to replace the $180,000 he looted from a joint bank account he held with his wife. Gosselin tells Entertainment Tonight he thought he was taking his paycheck out. As if he really makes $180,000 in a single paycheck!
“Well, it was just after arbitration, we weren’t supposed to take money out of the restrictive account and we both did,” Jon told Entertainment Tonight. “I was found in contempt for doing so. I didn’t realize, I was just like taking my paycheck out.”
Whoops!
But Jon also said that Kate, who accused her estranged hubby of removing $235,000 from their collective coffers and leaving her high and dry, might have to return whatever she withdrew without Jon’s consent as well. Read more…
Why Miley Cyrus Quit Twitter Pt. 3
This is like the third video that I know of where teen star of Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus gives her reasons for quitting Twitter. Miley says she quit Twitter because the Internet provides an anonymous cover for insecure people to say things that they normally wouldn’t say to my face off the Internets.
Miley feels the Internet teaches other teens not to have responsibility for their actions. I totally agree with her and I applaud the youngster for taking this stand against addictive social networks!
It saddens me to see normally strong willed, independent industry chicks so strung out on a social networking site. I can’t imagine what a disruption Twitter must be in their lives when they can’t even go to the bathroom without thinking about their next tweet.
I want to DM them so bad and ask them to give Twitter a break for a few days and spend more time with their kids. But I know I’m wasting my time. It’s like trying to take crack rocks away from a crackhead.
And don’t let Twitter go down for 3 hours. The withdrawal effects begin almost immediately. I’m glad I don’t have those problems as I do not have an addictive personality. And I’m glad my people aren’t on Twitter.
Usher’s 911 Call On Trampeka
Audio of R&B singer Usher’s call to 911 to report his truck had been vandalized. Though he never names his soon-to-be divorced wife Tameka Foster in his call, he mentions an altercation with his “ex-wife” who followed him after the dispute. Usher tells 911 he called police but Tameka fled the scene before they arrived.
According to Usher, the truck had a flat tire and was keyed on the side. It was Usher’s 2nd phone call placed to 911 for the cops to come get Tameka. Friends say Usher’s mistress, former Def Jam exec Grace Miguel, is living with Usher in the mansion he and Tameka formerly shared. Friends say Tameka is out of her mind with jealousy and realizes now that there’s no chance at a reconciliation.
Maybe Trampeka should follow her own spiritual advice that she doles out on her Twitter page?
I also heard through the grapevine that Trampeka tried to run up on radio personality Miss Sophia at a party because she was offended that Sophia called her a man on the Frank & Wanda Morning Show. But the tramp backed down when she almost got the slap down! Miss Sophia (pictured below) doesn’t play that!

Soulja Boy Responds to the Blogs
I can’t waste my time with this young idiot. Let TMZ.com tell you:
In what may be considered one of the dumbest displays of wealth of all time, Soulja Boy just showed the entire planet that he keeps tens of thousands of dollars in an unprotected shoe box in his L.A. apartment.
Oh yeah — did we mention he was just robbed back in December?
SB just posted the arrogant rant on his Twitter page, in response to the story we ran yesterday — that the rapper’s landlord accused him of owing nearly $10,000 in unpaid bills.
So, feeling the need to prove his worth, Soulja whipped out a cache’ of cheesy-but-expensive jewelry and wads upon wads of $100 bills while one of his friends gave the following play-by-play: “wow …. wow … wow … wow.”
Hopefully, SB takes a few of those unprotected bills and invests in a bodyguard.
