American Music Awards 2009 – The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly
I didn’t watch the 2009 American Music Awards last night because I was out and about living my life.
So you can use this post to discuss your GOOD, BAD and UGLY from last night’s show.
I heard about all the comedy of errors, the queening out, the slips and falls, and RIHANNA! who murdered everything moving on the red carpet last night!
Speaking of falls, Jennifer Lopez (who has no business on any stage with her flabby, out of shape self) fell flat on her azz while performing her lame track “Louboutins” last night. Clearly she is not fit after dropping twins and getting her back twisted out every night by her hubby Marc Anthony, which doesn’t quite take the place of a good aerobics workout.
But back to RiRi:
As my dear, deceased grandfather would have said if he saw Rihanna last night: “LOOKOUT NOW!
RiRi looked so hawt last night, she deserves a post all by herself!

I was soo upset with Rihanna’s performance! I know her voice is not all that great, but still I wanted her to excel; unfortunately, she let me down. She was the only person who looked like they enjoyed the show. Even the people in the first few rows looked like they didn’t enjoy it.

The ugly – J Lo’s fall, ADAM LAMBERT again AND he fell, Jermaine (I go through a jar of Murray’s a day) Jackson, Janet Jackson’s outfit.
I can’t remember the rest of them yet.
Definitely NOT a fan of Rhianna’s “singing” BUT her dress code is always on point…
Not surprised that her performance was wack…
I cosign Adair her performance was horrible! LIke im glad she didnt lip sync but it was pretty bad…She didnt really dance she just walked around singing offkey. I mean she looked “fierce” and all but a good performance is more than just that;
Rihanna sounded like an alley cat.
I just watched her performance because I refused to watch last night and it wasn’t bad at all…I don’t get why people bash her so much for her singing when half of these R&B chicks out right now can’t sing
Whitney did good, I’m always going to love Whit!

BTW, she had the worst performance for the night yet she was pumped up the most…EPIC FAIL>>>> jlo’ s fall was even more entertaining than her garbage. i heard they are selling her cd for 3. 99..bwahhhhhhhhhhh..even with that its gonna flop..smh
The good– Mary J Still got it!!!! Great Performance!! Drake was looking quite DAPPER in that suit, A.Keys had on some BAD shoes!!

Didn’t watch the show. Forgot it was even on.. From the pic’s and video’s I have seen. Rhianna’s dress was fire! Her performance was ice…JLO needs to go sit down somewhere. Janet, a little sluggish, but damn, you can’t be 20 forever. JayZ & Alicia= Snore. Mary J, she sings. Whitney, she had me in tears. Lady Ga Ga, I couldn’t watch for more then 20 seconds before pausing.

The lame-Jermaine attention seeking self (a.s.s)Jackson
Rihanna looked GREAT. but i wasnt feeling her performance at all. she gets a BIG BOO, but i expected that from her
LMAO @ j.lo falling. i replayed that video like 20 times last night HAA-LAR-REE-USS!!
Adam Lambert got real freaky in his performace. he need to chill out. lol

I agree with everyone. Rih Rih did look hawt but the performance was wack. Love “Hard” & “The Wait Is Ova” but she needs to go harder on her performance skills. She spends so little time actually singing and too much rockin out. Mediocre at best.

RiRi looked hot, but her performance was so lackluster..I kept wanting her to BRING IT! But I knew she wouldnt…She is an artist who is truly all hype

Was it just me or was JZ staying away from all females last night, he extended a hand when getting his award, and then lean in to Tony who did the fake thing.
But his performance with A-Keys tops the cake, she seemed to be moved closer and closer, and J was darn near running from the home wrecker. HMMM
he must have been forewarned. 
rhi rhi disappointed me with her vocals. she looked great though. Em and 50 got the dead crown moving a little. Jay Z and Alicia were good they also moved the crowd. when i saw the back of Timberland’s head i was just taking a drink of juice and almost choked on it. lol also on other sites people are talking about Janet’s performance. People have to remember she is OLDER, now and can not do all those dance moves. i enjoyed her performance anyway.
Sandra, why you dissing my girl Jenny? She’s 40 and had twins looks good to me.
That’s my girl right there. The song is wack but was her music ever the focal point. Beyonce is tommorow’s Jlo. My former boss RIP and I have a bet tacked to my office wall that by 2012 Beyonces career will look like JLOs We said luckily for her(Jlo) she actually can act. You can’t be the it girl forever.

@wiggy i was flipping through the channels and when i left the AMA’s Carrie Underwood was performing and when i flipped back i saw the thing on Gaga’s head and it scared me because i wasn’t expecting that.

1) did I miss Taylor Swift forget to THANK KANYE WEST? I’m not a Kanye fan, but DAMN…for real though? How you gonna win in categories OTHER THAN YOUR GENRE? (and what the fuk you doing up at 4AM accepting awards in make up anyway at 19..)
2) Carrie Underwood??? When did Video chicks get to audition for Country Music Video/Performances…need to tune into CMTV more often (she’s come along way from that Pig Farm her and her granddaddy use to run)…:surprised:
3) Alica..Alica…all I can say is the Mariah Carey syndrome in full effect/affect (whichever)….Somebody (or something) done turned her out. WTHWTHS (what the hell was that ****z)? I will never understand the DANCE ROUTINE TO SLOW SONGS (other than a slow drag). Come on! I was completely confused about the whole performance. What did it have to do with the SONG? Cops and Robbers…Robbers and Robbers? What was the purpose of the dude on the wall then…nevermind..giving myself a headache.
4) Who the heck is GLORIANA? I don’t even remember them being mentioned in the voting process.
5) Didn’t Old Navy file for bankruptcy? How the HELL were they able to pay for all those damn commercials?
6) Reason why JAY-Z (puttheringonit) didn’t accept BEYONCE’S award? TINY would have accepted T.I.’s….
7) Somebody tell me WHY Perez Hilton is important?
8) J-Lo’s fall was priceless…but Adam Lambert’s drop and roll made my night. If you can stand to watch (or re-watch) his performance…watch how he trips over his over the top pointed toe shoes and does a quick drop and roll with the microphone picking up the sound of the tumble.

When she is stair stepping across the mens backs, she climbs the last back and it must be sweating from the lights because she falls right on her azz but like Beyonce’ can jump up fast and not miss a beat.
The good: Jay z, Mary,janet, Lady Gaga, Alicia keys, always looking good.

I was also channel surfing but I did catch The Black Eyes Peas and Rhianna’s performance. Fergie was HORRIBLE! She sound like a banchee (sp). And Rhianna, bless her heart! She definitely was “extra hype” for someone who cannot sing a lick.
That was enough for me. I cut the TV off and went to bed.
J LO performance- couldve been better. Obviously lip syncing, but she gets a thumbs up from me for bouncing back from the fall
Rihanna- Vocals were horrible. But she is a good performer.

Janet Killed her performance last night. All i have to say is that for 43yrs old she can still move like a 25 year old. I can’t say the same for Jennifer Lopez. That bitch fell flat on her ass. Miss Diva Janet hit every move and did a great job. And for the dumb ass that said she was out of breath she did perform for 8 mins dumb ass and it was non stop dance. So bitches bow down to the TRUE Queen Miss Janet if your Nasty!!!!
And did anyone notice when Jermaine Jackson was doing the speech, it seems like he almost forgot for a minute that the award was actually for MJ, not him?

Sorry Sandra, but Rihanna has absolutely no stage presence AT ALL. The outfits can’t distract the fact that she has no talent and can’t sing, OR PERFORM AT ALL. She is what is wrong with the record industry. All in All I think the AMA’s showed us exactly that their is very little talent in the music industry these days. The show was PURE garbage.

The AMAs were pretty boring last night. Rihanna looked great but sounded horrible, and has the stage presence of a wet dog. I was also shocked by Adam Lambert’s performance. It was too much for network TV and I hope no one’s kids saw that.

Missy I’m going to have to agree with you about Taylor. I was up on Taylor WAY before the VMA incident and yes she as very successful pre Kanye BUT there is even backlash in her own genre about her getting pity awards. She is a great artist but there are awards that even yt people don’t think she deserves and say she’s only gotten them because of Kanye. So SHE DOES need to thank Ye for her taking home EVERYTHING she’s nominted for.
I mean come on now, she beat Reba McIntyre, Carrie Underwood, and Martina McBride as the best female vocalist in the Country awards. She doesn’t sing better than ANY of them.

OMG this was the most boring show ever.. Rhianna, I was lost. Her performance was so damn BORING! Timberland’s who outfit was too damn small, Janet looked tired and was clearly not singing, (lypsyncing) Jermaine Jackson, was getting on my last nerves, he is really trying to get his shine on since his brothers death. Loved Mary J. she looked so good and i LOVE that song she sung.Now if any other performer would have wore the outfit (or lack thereof) that Rhianna wore for her performance they would be getting talked about (in a bad way this morning), half of the performers were half dressed last night. I was surprised to see Alicia Keys dancing in her set last night.. I loved Lady Gaga’s performance.

Whitney did WAYY better than I expected, so kudos to her. I liked Adam back on American Idol, but that ish was HORRIBLE. Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood were great.

If I didn’t know there was a fall to watch I wouldn’t have bothered with the JLo vid. She recovered wonderfully though. But ugh, she’s channeling all of the younger pop n’ b chicks from her Theiry Mugler hip dress to the “eh’s” in her hook… I forgot she could “dance” though.
Lady Gaga was good IMO. Whitney sounded better in Europe but she’s putting it all back together now
AKeys was ok but she was better last week on DWTS. If I never hear “Empire State of Mind” again life will be GRAND! Rihanna’s biggest problem is her being tone deaf…seems incurable! J. Lo recovered well from the fall…it was still funny! Janet was kind of lackluster but it was nice just seeing her performing again! I really enjoyed Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood… I used to be an AI fan!

I enjoyed Rihanna’s performance because I viewed it (via youtube) with low expectations. She’s just fun to see, not to hear.
I had to work all night so I missed the show but from reading the comments I know I didn’t miss anything. Notorious was a good movie! I cried because it brought back so many memories for me as far as what I was doing at that time in my life..and for Big because to this day I believe him to be the best rapper alive.
