FORT HOOD, Texas – The U.S. Army says 12 people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting rampage on the Fort Hood Army base in Texas. Lt. Gen Bob Cone said at a news conference that one shooter has been killed and two suspects were apprehended on Thursday. He says they are all U.S. soldiers.
The shooting began around 1:30 p.m. Cone says that all the casualties took place at the base’s Soldier Readiness Center where soldiers who are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening.
He says the primary shooter used two handguns in the attack.

A lot of soldiers have post traumatic disorder after they come back from the war but this is just sad that innocent people lives have been taken away …….. I
for the one’s that lost their lives families and the wounded ones and their families also.. Smh the soldier will probably get a psych evaluation and they will consider him crazy/depressed/paranoid.

It is sad. They want you to sign up and when you get back you are on your own. They don’t come back the same. They have to sleep alone or else they fight you in their sleep, to use to being in combat.
It is so sad, I know couple people that suffer from PTSD. I know your never going to be the person you once were but it seems the govt does not do enough when the come home.

My grandpa fought in world war 1& 2 and my family told me when he got back that he was paranoid and depressed he even tried to kill one of my uncles with a cutlass (he usually flipped out when he saw read)but he got better and is still alive but he doesn’t really have flashbacks at all…. But i do think that soldiers need rehabilitation..

Just found out one of my friends from college is stationed at for hood and his fam can’t reach him! Lawd Jesus!
My daddy was in veitnam…..and he was stationed in the BUSH for about 3 months straight he said at one point (I guess its a pretty bad location) He was sprayed with antient orange or some type of biochemical it caused heart were passed on to all of his kids. He had open heart surgery about 4 years ago, but he still wakes up in the middle of the night slapping da shyt outta my step mama

The gov’ment should do something for those soldiers coming back, they need counseling. They have seen horrific things for months and months..they don’t think this affects them? Or they don’t care? Bring our soldiers home or better yet empty out those prisons and send some of those murderers over there.

My Father was in that same war, He died during my first stint in college… He was in his late 50′s when he died AND I didn’t even recognized him while he was laying in that casket… He looked like he was 80 years old AND he was a shell of himself — Deep Sigh
oh yea and needless to say that lawsuit my Dad has against the government for damages caused by the chemical is still pending….for like almost 10 years!!!!
The government don’t give a damn…I guess they feel like an american should be honored to put themselves in harms way for their country….soldiers die.
Damn…..Elove, im sorry to hear that. I’m surprised my father survived that spray….Im thinking thats when he was discharged afterwards….I guess GOD had another plan. I know this may not sound right, and forgive me if it sounds mean, but Elove, your father is much better off than we are right now.

Also sometimes they don’t allow people to answer or make phone calls because they probably are trying to find out the names of the soldiers who have passed on and injured and are probably calling those people families first.Also im sure its chaotic there.

My friend is OK! As it turned out he called his parents while the shooting was going on OUTSIDE his BUILDING, his best friend just didnt know that so he is fine. Praise God! He just got married and has a baby on the way!
The shooter was a mental health worker or something again this is beyond sad
Man…ya’ll just don’t understand what it’s like for the military.
Even when you arent deployed, it’s equally as stressful because everyone IS deployed and you are doing 3 times your workload. For a military member to get treated for PTSD or any other mental health related illness, it harm your career. It can prevent you from taking your career to the next level and becoming an instructor or taking a job you really want. Many people are reluctant to speak to a mental health specialist.
That’s how this happens….The military doesnt do enough to rehabilitate soldiers coming back from deployment. You can lie your way out of it. OF COURSE ALL OF THIS IS MY OWN OPINION. I’ve known people that had untreated PTSD that just turned into a full blown Anger management issue.
That’s how sh!t like this happens….
