Rihanna Loves the Kids!
Thousands of Rihanna fans turned out to meet & greet the singer who signed copies of her 4th studio CD ‘Rated R’ at a Best Buy in NYC yesterday.
One of Rihanna’s adoring fans received extra special attention from the Barbadian beauty. Little Jasmena Anema has a rare form of leukemia (blood cancer) that’s ravaging her tiny body. But she found the strength to wait for hours in a long line for the chance to meet her idol Rihanna.
Jasmena’s leukemia has weakened her immune system to the point where she must wear a mask to protect her from deadly germs. So it might not have been a good idea for Rihanna to put her face in such close proximity to Jasmena’s, possibly exposing the child to millions of opportunistic microbes.
But we’re just going to assume that Rihanna didn’t know any better and that she didn’t mean any harm. Still, this is something you would expect Beyonce to do.

I wonder how she feels about her CD selling for $3.99. Her CD sales have never been stellar but she’s always managed to sell a large number of singles. Since this first single tanked Def Jam appears to be scared and put the CD on sale for $3.99. While the Filene’s Basement price is sure to guarantee the number 1 spot, it doesn’t show much faith in this CD on behalf of the label. KTHXBYE

Of course not hence the Rated R sticker it’s an adult CD, in fact my kids don’t listen to the radio at all, the only music their accustomed to is what comes on Sprout, Nick Jr. Michael Jackson and Islamic Nasheeds…

honestly more parents need to be like that. If and when i become i parent i would never allow my child to listen to adult music. I bee seeing little kids knowing all the words to songs like BD Sex, Blame It on the goose, 5 star and some other songs that should not be allowed for childern. Shut they know way more words then some adults.

I do try to limit what my daughter see/hears on the radio/videos. Hubby and I don’t play rap or suggestive songs when she’s in the car and the video channels are blocked on the tv for her. She loves Bey because she loves to dance and entertain so she will sing her songs and I let her watch her videos (sue me) but she is more High School Musical than MTV. She listens to Disney Radio, has the HSM, Camp Rock and Kid Bops CDs etc. That’s more of what she’s use to.

On another note, I am happy that little girl got to meet one of her idols. Apparently, she is a fan. So, what’s a few minutes of joy with a celeb when she is probably going through so much pain. God bless the parents that have to deal with their little one being sick. I don’t think I could take it. My heart races when my boo-boo trips and falls!

And I am glad she didn’t have to wait – heard on the radio that Rihanna was 3 hours LATE to this cd signing. It’s cold here in Dallas – I’ll be damned if I’m standing outside for 3 hours in New York waiting on ANY celeb to come through.

@ wiggy: That is what you call a grateful child. My children are grateful like that too and every year we go through their toy box and take out all the things they don’t play with and give them to the needy. It makes them appreciate what they have been blessed with.

This little girl is very sick. Sometimes you let dying kids listen to their favorite artists (that have visited her in the hospital in the past) or you take them to a signing because they’ll never get the experience again.
That might have the most exciting thing Jasmina has done in a looooong time. Cut her, her momma, and Rihanna some slack!
Mistarie, we do that T’day every year. We put up the tree and take out the toys. My four yr old(the one in the gravatar) hasn’t grown into her generosity yet. She doesn’t like to give up nothing. Not even baby toys.

She’ll come around. It took my middle child a little longer to get it as well, but now she understands and happily gives up her toys to those that are less fortunate. This year we’re giving them away to a women and children’s shelter. Last year we just packed them all up, took them to an empty lot that is frequented by children and put up a sign that said “free toys”. Needless to say, when we went back the next day, the box was empty.
