Chris Brown Projected To Sell 150K (awww, that’s too bad)
According to Hits Daily Double (and other industry estimates), convicted woman beater Chris Brown’s CD ‘Graffiti’, which drops tomorrow, is expected to sell just 150K. That’s too bad considering all that lying he’s been doing on national television in hopes of drawing his core fan base back into the fold.
Both Def Jam/IDJ’s Rihanna and Jive’s Chris Brown are on their second singles, as their respective labels press on in their efforts to penetrate the all-important Pop arena—and to generate sales on their acts’ new albums. Although Rihanna’s initial single didn’t go far at Pop, her 180k bow topped her previous LP’s 153k, which wound up selling 2.5m. Brown’s first track didn’t cross to Pop, which factors into the 150k projection on his Dec. 8 album, compared to a 295k debut for his previous LP, which went on to sell 1.9m.

Chris is wack, sorry. People are now jumping on the bandwagon because its the matter of choosing sides since the Rihanna incident.

I love how people are already predicting his fail before his album even comes out. How can you predict what numbers he’s gonna sell and his album isnt even out yet? I think it is based off how many units are shipped to retailers ( I think). They predicted Rihanna would sell about 180-200k, she did a little over 180k in Us and 103k overseas

…I’m actually glad their doing this. It gives his fans more reason to buy more copies of his album. If their predicting 150k and his fans hear that and they buy mulitple copies it will easily double it. So their actually helping him more than hurting him.

I know atleast 26 people have pre-order his album off of itunes and amazon including myself and out of those 26 people I know have purchase multiple copies including myself so my family think they are gonna get an expensive gift no,no,no,no they are gonna cb cd!

@Dark the difference is Rihanna had/has the world at her feet and I bought her cd and LOVE it but CB hasnt gotten much shine or publicity he uses twitter and his fan appreciation tour to spread the word about his new cd. He knows he lost fan behind Chriannagate some will eventually come back while others are gone forever so it is what it is he is an artist and he is doing what he does best. I laugh at sandra, she thinks chris brown album will not sell cause of the incident but if that is the case, according to the link she provided about sales R. kelly out sold rhianna. He is a pedophile so what does the incident have anything have to do record sales, people buy based on if the music sounds good to them. And let’s be honest, since in the beginning you were the one calling their relationship a stunt to boost rhianna’s celebrity, which worked. But the problem is the chick can’t sing period so when they broke up she’s still a celebrity who can’t sing and in time in will tell how long she sticks around. You hate Beyonce but she sings and puts on a great show, which chris does too so we will see who has staying power. My comment has nothing to with what happened, but she just CAN’s sing. She may be pretty to look at but not enough to sit and listen to her sing.

But that still equals a big FAIL because she’s supposedly on superstar status and those numbers still aren’t making any noise.

I have no plans in purchasing his cd I did however buy 2 copies of Rihanna’s CD which I think is the best CD this year if you really listen to it. However, I still think Chris will do way more than 150K his first week out.
I’m pretty much indiffrent to all this now but I don’t expect CB to do well. He has lost his crossover appeal and now the only ones ridint for him are black folks. We all know that a lot of “us” don’t by albums anyway, there will be a lot of Stans that buy numerous copies to boost his sales(wasting money) but that still won’t help much. I think Rhi will outsell him when it’s all said and done, except for the ignorant CB stans(mainly black women), that have drug her through the dirt saying she deserved the beating, and insisting she provoked the fight she has still maintained a lot of her fan base. I think CB should have taken a break and waited to put his album out, he should’ve given this more time to blow over. When it comes to raw talent though Rhi has nothing on CB and thats for real. I copied Rhi’s album, and I’ll get CB’s as well if I can’t download or copy it from someone for free

That’s what I thought too. The AP is reporting that it was a blond woman rushed to the hospital. I googled her pic and she wasn’t blond. She had more of a sandy brown hair color. But, they also say that another blond woman came to the hospital driving an escalade similar to the one Tiger crashed and the tag # was only a couple numbers off Tiger’s. This is quickly turning into a trainwreck!
