Celebs Style: Look What Rihanna Started
The mark of a great style icon is the ability to spark trends and influence the personal style of others. In a sense, Rihanna is that chick who sparks movements in fashion.
Don’t believe me? Check out the jacket that D-list rapper Lola Monroe is wearing in these pics. Notice the spiked embellishment on the shoulders? Rihanna started that.
RiRi may not be a great singer, and her album may have flopped, but you can’t deny her style influence on her peers!

Some of her stuff is hit or miss, like the dresses she choosed are pure fiyah, but some of these pieces, such as this studded mess, can be left at home. She has a damn shoe game to die for though.

Most of the people in the industry look like clones, very few are original. Remember the Beyonce “blonde phase”. Thought it would never end.
I call my style preppy chic. I like it simple and classic.
Why..would her stylist let her take that photo from the rear where her shorts look like jean cutoffs? Am I the only one who sees all of that washed and worn fringe?!? Not a good look- the front is obviously more finished.

That outfit is really sloppy on her. The jacket is too big and looks like it was sewn at home, the shorts are raggedy, and her cottage cheese is exposed. Lola usually does better than this.

Rihanna’s album did NOT flop. Billboard.com just said this album that came out last week gave her the HIGHEST FIRST WEEK SALES of her career. Good Girl Gone Bad, didn’t sell that much the first week. The QUESTION is, how well will it hold up for the rest of the year and next year? If it doesn’t sell a million or more copies within a year, THEN it’s a flop. I’m just sayin….
