No Grammys For Whitney, But Beyonce Gets 10 Grammy Nods?

Beyonce has fallen off so badly in the past 6 months that even pop singer Rihanna still gets more shine than her despite the fact her latest CD didn’t sell as well as expected.

Still, NARAS saw fit to Bless Beyonce with 10 Grammy nods — while the legendary Diva Whitney Houston got none, zero, zilch!

The folks overseeing the Grammy Awards at the Academy couldn’t even come up with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Whitney to show some respect? This is a glaring oversight.

Even the dreadful rapper Drake got a Grammy nod for ‘Best Rap Song’ for that horrible track “Best I Ever Had”. Are you kidding me?

Obviously there is some foul play at work here. Some under the table pay offs or back room dealings or something.

Whitney’s album ‘I Look To You’ has been certified Platinum by the RIAA, meaning she sold over 1 million copies of her comeback album. I would rather listen to Whitney than Beyonce’s screeching any day!

When the time comes we shall see the fall of Beyonce and be in awe. It’s always a bad sign when things come too easy and abnormally fast. Who ever is giving them to her will demand more than she can give….. I mean, really the ultimate sacrifice is life, right. I do not envy her one bit. At least I am care free and happy with my man even though we live on a salary…

As for Whitney, she is strong in faith and she knows that her battle is not with Beyonce.

The Grammy’s used to be more “exclusive” to me, like not just anyone could get nominated. Now it’s just like all of the other awards shows, based on popularity and not the music.
Not a Beyonce hater, but 10 nominations?? I wasn’t that impressed with she put out this past year.

Hell… I didn’t even know who the hell Taylor Swift was until Kayne sucker punched her. Kayne was the *best* thing that could have happened to her. Good for NARAS!! While I’m happy Whitney is back and the project may have been certified platinum..The project is mediocre at best. I’m sick of people being rewarded/applauded for work they have done in the past during current award season (ie MJ receiving 4 AMA’s…WTF?!?!)..

Beyonce gets on my nerves too, but she hasn’t by any means “fallen off”. And as for Whit, I enjoy a good comeback every now and then, but be real. She tore up her voice with that crack rock–and u think she should be awarded for it?? The only reward she deserves is her sobriety and I hope she takes that more serious than she did her singing career. At least Beyonce cares about her craft and continuously works to improve it. Say what u want about her but the girl is a workaholic and she tries to put out the best performance for her fans. Whit said F@#%& her fans, and still wants them to pay top dollar to listen to her studio manufactured mediocre voice. “Not I” said the cat.

Beyonce’s album isnt even the best selling of the year, for someone of her caliber she should have done better with her sales. Sinlge Ladies video is a rip off of Bob Fosse & Gwen’s Mexican Breakfast, so Beyonce is doing nothing new or creative. Beyonce is full of kiddie tranny jingles, im sorry.. not worth a Grammy.

Beyonce is killing the game because she has NO COMPETITION!!! Really! She just doesn’t! LOL. Her record wasn’t the best. She had a few hits that were monsters and in my opinion worthy of ‘Grammy’ but for the most part that record was just, no, no, no.

I give credit where it’s due. She’s a hard worker. Folks act like she’s doing God’s work and therefore everything she touches is automatically the best. Videophone is such a horrid song and so is that Diva mess. I freakin HATED the I Am..Sasha side of her album (w/ the exception of Sweet Dreams). But again congrats to her and ALL the nominees INCLUDING MAXWELL!!! Best song of the year?!?!?!?! OH MY GOD I’d love for him to win that award!

Not a Beyonce fan but she’s talented and works hard. Whitney’s comback was lackluster to me. I havn’t heard one song that really moved me. I’ll stick to the underground soul artists….

I think she deserves it. I Am..Sasha Fierce in my little opinion was a great album to me. It was different, and I couldn’t see any other R&B chick out there doing songs like she did on this album. I like the I AM side better than the Sasha Fierce side also. But she’s not guaranteed to win all of them IF any. India.Arie got 7 nominations one year and won ZILCH! So you never know how it will turn out

Why so surprised? Homegirl been getting Grammy’s since she was a teenager.

Beyonce is a great artist, one would have to blind and deaf to deny the girls talent….that said… her last album was overrated… Single ladies, that simple azz song (and copied unoriginal video) is trash… Catchy , but trash..only song she had with any substance was Halo… now Dangerously in Love..was a good album straight through and BDay had more songs… but overall, i dont believe shes worthy of all that……

i agree the grammy’s are not what they used to be. it used to be a big deal to get a grammy nomination and put you in elite status. but this looks like they just pulled names out a hat and said put them on the ballot.

i too thought they moved up Whitney’s album so it would fit the grammy timeline.

i like drake and i think he’s a cutie. but i don’t think he should be nominated for a grammy when he doesn’t have an actual album out. that’s just not right.

i think beyonce should get record or song of the year- whichever category it was for single ladies. i don’t know enough about taylor swift to have an opinion on her nominations. but i wonder if people are going out of their way to put her on ballots to get back at kanye embarrasing her.
