Now Ashanti Has a Stalker
This morning I wrote about the perils of stardom attracting stalkers and other unstable nutcases. According to the NY Daily News, singer Ashanti is seeking an order of protection against a man who can’t keep his distance.
Singing star Ashanti has a creepy stalker – an Indiana man who has bombarded her mother with lewd text messages and pictures of his genitals, prosecutors said.
Devar Hurd, 31, is accused of stalking and harassing Tina Douglas with 32 messages between May 29 and July 18 and numerous phone calls.
He was arrested in late July and has been locked up at Rikers Island since. He faces possible trial in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday.
The messages he sent were explicit and included sex acts he wanted to perform on the mother and her daughters, according to court papers.
He also sent X-rated pictures of himself, photos of Douglas’ home and a picture of one of her daughters’ car, the documents said.
Hurd is charged with 28 misdemeanor counts of stalking and aggravated harassment and faces up to two years in prison if convicted. Read More…

Her laugh used to kill me everytime. I used to love that “baby, baby, baby” song back in the day. I know she had a few albums after that but that’s the only song I remember. I’m sad for her & Nelly breaking up (okay, not really). They were a cute couple (okay, not really again).
