Amerie’s Album Flops (Why Are We Not Surprised?)
Singers like Amerie come a dime a dozen. Record labels sign these chicks and expect consumers to accept their lack of talent and buy their music because they’re cute or they fit the cookie cutter industry standard of beauty.
Unfortunately, the #1 album this week belongs to a 46-year-old woman who shattered the false industry standard of beauty by outselling Beyonce, Rihanna, Amerie and Trey Song combined!
So it should come as no surprise to anyone that Amerie’s latest studio effort has flopped. Only her record label is surprised.
According to Rap-Up.com, Amerie latest CD, ‘In Love & War’ sold just 12,500 copies in the first week. A dismal number considering that Bow Wow’s forgettable CD sold 5,500 more copies than hers.
Amerie’s CD entered the charts at around #46 and is already heading in the wrong direction: downward.
But not to worry, Amerie is just happy that magazines will continue to give her photo spreads and kiss up to her like she’s Anita Baker or something. After all, what do they know about good, quality music?
On her dismal sales, Amerie said:
“It’s a very weird time. I didn’t worry about it ’cause I felt like it’s not about the first week. I knew when the album came out, it wasn’t coming out with a big hit ’cause we just went to radio with the ‘Pretty Brown’ record two weeks before the album came out, so we already knew it was going to be one of those over time things vs. a first week thing, which is cool.”
Someone needs to remind Amerie that there are no hits records on her entire CD. So her 1st week numbers are the best that she can expect out of that garbage.
Obama Ecstasy Pills Hit the Streets
Barack Obama’s approval ratings are low but his constituents are still high – on ecstasy, that is.
According to online reports, a new batch of ecstasy pills favoring the president have hit the streets — and the approval ratings for the new pills are high.
Ecstasy is known for a sense of elation, diminished feelings of fear and anxiety, and ability to induce a sense of intimacy with others.
A stash of the brightly colored tablets was found Monday during a south Texas traffic stop.
Police in Palmview detained a driver after finding black tar heroin, cocaine, marijuana and several Ecstasy pills in the back of his car.
Although some are taking the news humorously, police departments worry that the pills look like vitamins for kids.
Police say that other Ecstasy pills they found were made to look like the cartoon characters Homer Simpson and the Smurfs.
The 22-year-old driver faces felony drug possession charges.

Beyonce almost got her high priced handbag snatched by a playful clown at the Cirque Du Soliel circus in upstate NY yesterday.
Bey brought out almost the entire family for fun times at the circus. Solange and her son Julez looked like they were having fun. Pretty soon, Julez will have another Knowles seed to play with. As you know, his grandfather Matthew Knowles will be a daddy soon as his jump off is set to give birth any day now.
Our girl Rihanna was freezing her buns off while waiting for her body search at the LAX airport yesterday. She was probably hoping security didn’t ask her to remove those bobby pins that she used to pin up her weave with.
The Kimora Lee family just sent their Christmas card out to friends and associates.

Do We Really Need Another Reality Show?
According to Jawn Murray of BV Buzz, Fantasia’s new reality show is set to premiere in January on VH1. I won’t be watching, but I’m sure my readers will keep us updated on all the coonery.
The show, which Fantasia told BV Buzz about first this past spring, will show the complex and emotional life of the High Point, North Carolina-bred singer, who is working towards getting her high school equivalency diploma.
By the way, I spoke with someone in Tiny’s camp yesterday who mentioned that BET might want me to appear in an episode of The Tiny & Toya Show. Not as a cast member, but as one of the guests at Tiny’s Grand Opening of her store, which will be filmed by BET.
Wouldn’t it be funny if BET’s cameras caught me getting a pedicure at Tiny’s salon? Anyway, I’m thinking about it. I’ll let you know what I decide.
Keyshia Cole Pregnancy Rumors Confirmed
Keyshia Cole is pregnant according to Sister2Sister magazine:
A source close to the “Trust” singer told S2S that Keyshia is expecting and the baby is due in March. There’s no word on what the baby’s gender is at this time.
This news confirms rumors that Keyshia is pregnant. She’s also been spotted several places sporting a prominent baby bump. Most recently she was seen courtside at a Cleveland Cavaliers game cheering on her man, Daniel “Boobie” Gibson.
Although, the couple is having a baby together, they’re not planning to jump the broom just yet. Put simply: Daniel hasn’t put a ring on it yet.?That isn’t the only new addition to Keyshia’s family, though. We found out that Frankie has located another of her long-lost children, a 17-year-old daughter, who is also expecting.
Is Pleasure P a Child Molester (and Does Eddie Murphy Know About This?)

According to blogger Isis Wisdom of Word On The Streets mag, former Pretty Ricky member Pleasure P is a notorious child molester who got kicked out of the group after his record label tried to cover up the rumors.
One child victim is alleged to have been 4-years-old! Supposedly, the police caught him in the act of molesting the 4-year-old, and a 3-year-old child was recently removed from his home because Pleasure P, real name Marcus Cooper, is not allowed to be around children.
Well, one of Pleasure’s young victims is telling her story all over Twitter.com. I’m sure Pleasure’s reps will release a statement to TMZ any minute now. I don’t want to believe any of this is true, buuuttt, why would someone make up such allegations?
The story is coming out now because the law firm that represented him has not been paid — and you know that client/attorney privilege is only protected when those checks don’t bounce.
This all makes sense now because Pleasure’s people have been hitting up the blogs for a minute with pictures of Marcus and Eddie Murphy’s 20-year-old daughter out & about as if trying to make their case that he’s an all-American, red blooded heterosexual and not a pervert with a sick affinity for young children.
Y’all know I don’t like child molesters at all.

Jay Z and his BFF Alicia Keys performed “Empire State Of Mind Pt. 2″ at a World Aids Day Charity Concert in NYC Presented by American Express at Nokia Theatre yesterday.
Judging from these pics taken at the event, Jay Z and Alicia Keys look very cozy. In fact, I’ve never seen Hov look this cozy with Rihanna or Beyonce for that matter.
