The Say Something Nice Challenge…
On Thursday night, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle will hold the long-anticipated Grand Opening for her Tiny’s Nail Bar salon. It will be a night to remember as Tiny, her family and celebrity friends celebrate her first solo business venture.
As I told you previously, Tiny’s man T.I. is so excited about this new venture and he is anxious for the shop to open.
We are grateful to Tiny’s camp for extending Sandrarose.com special invites for 3 of my lucky readers and their guests! I will be there as well to greet my readers and BET will be filming for an upcoming episode of The Tiny & Toya Show.
So make sure you come camera ready!
All you have to do to qualify for the invites is say something nice. We’ve done this before so you know how it works. Some of you need not bother to participate in this thread. I’ve been taking names and keeping notes, so don’t try and change up now.

Has anyone ever had that ‘minx’ nail process done? How’d it do for you? I have a baby in diapers and work in a hospital – my hands stay in soap and water and it probably won’t work for me.

She started out in the industry as a singer and now is on her way to becoming a successful buisness owner, all the while juggling being a mother and supportive mate to Legendary Rapper T.I while he is away

Good Luck Tiny!! Out here in CA many of our locally owned businesses are shutting down (as I’m sure is the case throughout the country). The only thing thriving is Wally World. Tough economic times and I hope Tiny does well!!

I wish tiny much success and prosperity as she begins this new journey. I have always like Tiny,and have always supported her, the show, and Ti’s relationship. I watch the show, and I think she is a great friend, mother, and companion to Ti.
I hope that this endeavor is successful, and I think it shows that she is a strong, and ambitious woman. She could be sitting at home doing nothing, but she choose to do the opposite. I love the way she talk, and I love how she doesn’t care what anyone thinks, period.

I can only be so nice since I do not know either individual. It is nice that Tiny is taking a stand to be her own business and not live off of her man. I only watched one episode of her show and she portrays herself as a great friend and strong family women. I hope she can keep doing her when her man comes home because at the end of the day we need more POSITIVE black women. Girls these days need to see women doing things for themselves and not just going to the bank/shopping cause they have a man with money. Im glad she used her money wisely and did something for the community, (I love getting my nails done BUT I can not find a good black owned salon anywhere)hopefully this shop opening will provide jobs for recent or previous nail school graduates.

I would like to wish Tiny the best and I hope her new business venture is successful beyound it’s 1st few years. I’ve always been an Excape fan, threw a lil shade when I found out she was with TI. But watching the show on BET shed light on who she really is and seems like a very sweet and genuine person. I applaud TI for keeping it real and stay where he know the love is real regardless of the groupies. So I wish much success to their union and her new bussiness.
When will a contest come up regarding some of the male industry folk?

You guys are hilarious when it comes to posting some comments, I commented cause I actually really want to meet Sandra, and I want to see Tiny’s shop. I try to be positive and not say mean things cause Im under the impression now that my life/way of living/auroa(sp?) all reflect off of what I do. Hi Sandra, My honest comment is that I think it’s great for Tiny to find her own place in business…after hearing all the negative press concerning Tip not wanting her to do her own thing, it’s refreshing that she is able to do it…I wish her the best, she is a sweet girl.

i went to read tiny’s twitter and i didn’t realize these (ATL) celebrities actually read sandra rose like that! and they care! having nervous breakdowns and stuff. since we are in a position to affect the mental health and well-being of (ATL) celebrities, we need to cool it.
for the record, i do have a better understanding of tiny and her love for TI since watching the show. i don’t really do the nail thing but i’ll definitely support the salon when it’s time for my “summer feet”.

Congratulations Tiny I live in Stn Mtn but will travel to your shop just to get my nails done by a black person. I believe we must support our own in order for us to get anywhere. It truly amazes me all the haters can comment on your relationship when they look from the outside but you and only you know what your man or how your man treats you. It’s not one lady on this site that would not want to be in your shoes and if there man said they didn’t have to work for anything wouldn’t sit on their azz and let him take care of them. The chick that started it has a salon here in Houston…found it on FB, went got them done and lasted for over 4 weeks on my hands for less than $50.00.

I am all for black owned businesses. I want to own my own nail salon one day but the products will be organic. I just don’t know where to start considering the Asians have taken over. I wish alot of success for Tiny she deserves it. Hopefully her nail salon will out do the Asians. I never could find a right nail salon that can get everything right. On her show she seemed like a really nice person that is all for family. My heart went out to her because of her father with alzheimer’s. My grandmother has it and I know how difficult things can be.

@trynabeme, I really have a hard time getting my nails done at one of the local on the corner shops!! They play like they can’t speak english & charge for every lil thing, set your prices and keep it pimping. I’m very excited about her business as I support all b/o businesses. Love to get my nails done. How you doin?

On topic, Congrats Tiny. I wish you much success. I’m in Jersey, and would not be able to attend, if I was invited, but I really do wish you much success. I myself would like to start a few of my own businesses.

I am happy that Tiny has an opportunity to own her business. It should keep her close to her children and parents. I am sure TI will be happy to have his lady working permanantly in ATL…the question is if she will continue to manage the girl group OMG and tour with them once TI comes home. Now, I do wish Tiny much luck and success with her shop. I love seeing black women own their own businesses, because I can’t think of ONE shop here in Dallas that you can get your nails done by a professional black person.

I was thinkin the same thing. If a man is sure he wants to be with you then why haven’t they said I do. Didnt she mention that when she was askin her “hypothetical” question that he know he wants to be with you bust he aint ready to be married or somethin similar to that.
I’m sorry but I can’t be in no lease with an option to buy. If you love me like you say you do then it shouldnt be a problem. Then he had the nerve to tell her to come home cause he didnt want her to go out, PUHLEEZE I understand that’s your man and all but my HUSBAND is the only man that can tell me he’d rather me stay home and he better do it nicely and not hang up on my azz like TI did her

I’ve never said anything bad about Tiny. I think she has a beautiful spirit that alot of us NEED to have. I’m proud of her and admire her dedication to her family and her man. I would luv to attend this event but if not, I wish her the best. Team Tiny!!
why is the grand opening being held at a secret location and not at the nail bar itself? or maybe the nail bar has moved somewhere else by now since she’s been working on getting it set up for a while. then again, maybe they never said where the nail bar was located at all when they showed it on that episode.
at any rate, I’m in NC and couldn’t make it to check it out. but i wish tiny all the best. it’s good to see black people open businesses that will cater to our community. i love the asian shops, but wish we had some black folks running things.

I am so happy for Tiny opening up her nail shop. Who knows maybe this shop will be a chain of nail store that caters to the black community where we see our own people doing mani and pedi. I admire how you she holds her family down while her “hunny” is away and remains loyal to him. I admire how she handles the hater that wonder why TI would want you or better yet why he hasn’t married you which is really nobody business because what God has for you is for you. I relate to Tiny on some many differnet levels even with her father having Alziheimers which my grandmother died from and how hard it is to see the person you love not even remember all the special moments you’ve had with them. You are a big sister to Toya and a loving mother to your kids…making it through life situations aint you blessed as you can be!!! I wish you continue success in your new business endeavors and I continue to pray for your strength and you continue to pray for the haters as well!!!
A lot of people can be very judgmental when it comes to relationships, especially with theirs because of T.I.’s views on her working. I think him being away is a good thing(not under the current circumstances)because she can take this time to find out who she is and finally become her own woman. Congratulations not only on the salon but the OMG Girls as well. I wish you luck in all future endeavors and may GOD continue to bless you and your family.

You all have to understand that Tiny has always been a genuine person. It did not take for me to see her show to know this. I mean, as much as folks analyze her looks and how she talks, she does not respond to it; and that’s what I like about her.
An ignorant friend of mine thinks that Tiny is a bad person because of how she talks.
I had to educate her; the way Tiny talks is separate and has nothing to do with her character period.
How she looks or how she talks has nothing to do with her character as a person.
I’ve never had any problems with the way Tiny/Toya/any other country folk talk….country is as country does. I find it a bit irritating that ppl say its hard for them to understand country folk….it ain’t them, it’s you. Expand you listening skills.
The only person I may have a problem with is Plies for saying NIMBA instead of numba

as you stated in “YOUR OPINION”, which is just that your opinion as my comment was my own opinion. If you really read my comment you would see how I thought she was shown positively as I stated “as a good friend, mother, and companion to TI”. Just because you felt she was Ghetto, does not mean everyone in America feels the same way. I think the show opened many eyes to the relationship that exist between TI and TINY…she had her own before him and with a few successful business ventures she can continue to blossom and stack that paper , whether or not TI decides to stay with her.
Unlike others I do not need a request to be nice, I think we need to support other black owned businesses and stop bashing others. A lot of hating that goes on is for one simple reason JEALOUSLY Good luck Girl…

I see a lot of ya’ll weren’t up to the challenge. It kills me that folks less succesfull than someone been less places, done less that someone can turn around and call THAT person igant and hoodrat AND diss their relationship and the fact that she is an unwed mother. Everyone who disses single mothers better NEVER have had unprotected sex.
Calling her a hoodrat is riduculous. How can you be a country blub hood rat? She’s got a grammy toured the world and you call her a hoodrat? The same folks who said this probably still living in or right near the same place they grew up in.Which is the definition of hoodrat.
I don’t have time to look for a babysittter this close to the event so I won’t be participation but ya’ll know Tiny is my friendinmyhead so whoever wins please have fun tell send me a picture of her to my whole name at yahoo.
I agree with the above comment, it is so easy to bring someone else down for their achievements, when you are not the one doing all the work. I want to start my own business because I believe in entrepreneurship; sadly a lot of black people do not, we rather just give our money to everyone else. Again, I applaud her for keeping her business in the area and not going out to Atlanta. Believe me she could have probably made a lot more money in Buckhead being her, but she kept it in her own area and bringing business there. I love the fact she is building that area up…
This is wonderful! Tiny is stepping out on faith and finding what makes her happy. As mothers we loose ourselves when it comes to our kids and husbands. Everyone else happiness comes first and mom is always last. Well, good bye to those days. She has finally realized that her happiness counts as well!! I live in Atlanta and there are not many successful black owned nail salons of this calibre around. I wish her much success with her upcoming business endevor and hope that it will allow many others to persue their dreams of owing thier own business(es)! We only go around this life time once and should make the best at it. Wether you fail or not, at least you did try it and learned from it. Tiny has had to prove herself for quit some time now. The media can tear you apart with just one write up good or bad! If anyone can attest to Monica’s song “Still Standing” she can! Congrats Tiny! Keep your head up girl and do your thing!
I won’t be in ATL until Friday so I wont be able to attend so save me a ticket to another exclusive event Auntie Sandra.
But I’m proud of Tiny she is finishing something that she has a passion for and something that has been on her heart to complete. God is working on her and this salon is about self development and growth. Its more than about a business venture or about being TI’s fiancé. May God continue to guide her and bless her to use her talents to help others.
I am so happy to hear the Tiny’s shop is finally opening… It’s great to see that she has made some of leaps and bounds that she was pondering on her show. I can’t wait to see these when the next season starts next year. Good luck to her on her new business venture.
I can honestly say that she is one of the POSITIVE images on tv today. She does not walk around flaunting her purses, cars, and other perks she gets. She has really shown us how family oriented she is and we should all support that. I wish her much success in the salon and I will visit often since it is nearby.
