The Fall Of Gilbert Arenas: NBA Star Suspended Indefinitely
Well, it’s about time.
As you’ve heard by now, the FBI and local authorities have been investigating NBA player Gilbert Arenas for using his workplace to stash his gun collection. His stash came to light after Arenas pulled a gun on another player in the locker room during an argument to settle a gambling debt.
What followed was a series of denials and pathetic excuses on the part of Arenas and the Washington Wizards front office. Now, word comes down from on high that Arenas is suspended indefinitely.
The NBA should have immediately suspended both players involved — first for fighting, 2nd for the gunplay and 3rd for gambling. What type of message was the NBA sending out to the kids by continuing to allow these two clowns to play?
Gilbert Arenas is nothing but a joke on the basketball court. Sure, he’s seen better days as a player, but he sucks now. Even the Washington Wizards fans want him gone. Well, now they just might get their wish.

From my understanding, this is how the story went down.
1. Gilbert owed b-baller $50k and refuse to pay it back…then constantly mentions debt to rub non payment in b-baller’s face
2. B-baller says, “You shouldnt play like that…people get killed for doing stuff like that”
3. Gilbert brings empty/unregistered guns to locker and tells b-baller, “why dont you pick a gun to kill me”
With that being said, the only thing the feds can pin on him is that his guns were not registered. Thats such a technicality call IMO. Its not an attempted murder charge, its a unregistered gun charge. Yes, Gilbert is a true DUMBASS but society just waits to lock black men in jail.
Damn, that a $111 million dollar contract GONE! His wife might have to go after that child support check from Shaq after all.

That gambling story has yet to be confirmed last time I checked. There are like 3 stories going around about this. Gilbert does not suck at all, he is actually a VERY good player!

Hey Missy! I don’t agree with what he did, I think it was dumb too! Especially with the gun laws DC has. I’m sure he has enough money to get a safe to store those guns. But Sandra saying he sucks is out of order lol. He’s probably the best on the team IMO.

That was very dumb of him keeping his guns there and then pulling it out playing with it. Of course, to make matters worse–he made a joke about it right before a game the other night by pretending his fingers was a gun and aiming it at his teammates–so, yeah he deserves whatever punishment he gets. And umm…I agree w/some of the others, Civil is a cutie.
He deserves the punishment and it sounds like their not done yet. They will probably void the remainder of the 111 million dollar contract. I’m fed up up with these negroes and all this thug sH_t.

he’s just off to a rough start. remember it seemed he was on top of the world and only thing that went wrong was he couldn’t get his team the next level in the playoffs? how i’m sure he wishes for those days again.
i think he should take some time off and get himself together emotionally. he lost his fiance to what he prolly deemed as a good friend, at least someone he could trust. Men keep ish bottled up. Who knows what else is going on with him? Then the episode in the locker room. When I read he said it was a joke or they were playing, I read that caption only and moved on to the next story. Reading that alone tells me something aint right and he’s unravelling emotionally. It happens.
I still admire Arenas and wont throw him under the bus. Deal with your mess and you’ll be ok.

Both of the players should have been suspended immediately. Too many of our urban celebs and ballers have this real sense of entitlement but oh how the tides are changing. It’s just a shame he had several burners in his locker…where did he think he was a strip club?! Who do you know that takes a gun to work with them beside the police and dope boys? Absolutely a hotmess no doubt!
Runs to google. If this is true, consider this beginning of the end of for the Wizard. Arenas is AMAZING, and when you’re amazing i’ll turn a blind eye to certain things that happen. Ah just when I was warming up to the Wizards.
I don’t think he’s a dumb ass, just in a bad state of mind due to his recent personal issues. I also think he’s lieing about his girlfriend and Shaq to preserve his ‘image’. I don’t think that baby is his.
Maybe he had hit a mental wall with being this highly paid public person where people come at him from all directions aimed at his money. Maybe he realizes that most/all the people people in his personal circle were not genuine to him. It’s either they’re coming at him because of his money, or out of competition; or on some ego ****.
Maybe he did feel like dieing, as he told the guy to pick a gun to kill him. Maybe he was simply suicidal. And I don’t blame the Wizard fans for not wanting him there. His mind is not in a good place…if he’s suicidal, in emotional turmoil, bringing guns to work (whether they are loaded or not) you never know what type of rampage he could go on. I mean, this right here is a career ender - IMO. It’s like the office guy who just went through a divorce, and has been dogged by office politics where office tension is high, bringing guns to work.
Maybe he really does love that woman. Maybe he’s one of those sports players that doesn’t run through women, because I’ve never heard/read anything about him regarding that.
You get a bunch of men who are peers where all, except one, believes in running through women despite getting married. When the one exception lands a beautiful significant other, guess what his peers are going to do? Gun for her, whether several of them go for it, or one takes the stance ‘for the team’. They resent that one man’s way of being committed to one woman. It threatens their ideals of manhood, as they only understand it as being one way - having your woman (wife), others, and his, too!

I agree with him being immature. I first learned about the dude, maybe, 2 years ago in reading his blog hosted on the team’s site (i think). In reading that, I figured him immature for his age, and not an intellectual - kind of the like stereotypical blond airhead white chick of basketball. He also came across as a bit unlearned and gullible, esp. regarding his ‘peers’. Some people equate being gullible with being dumb, but maybe he just trusted the wrong people then lost it mentally. Anyone can loose their mind.
Gilbert is a MORON!!! He wanted the guns out of his house and away from his children, so he takes them to an area and stores them in his locker???? That sounds DUMB!! They were better off in your house in a locked container stored in a safe. And then to think it would be FUNNY to take them out and show them to your teammate? if he wanted the guns out of his home, there are hundreds or places where he could have purchased storage. he could have had a large combination safe installed in his home to store the guns in. he could have had an outdoor high security facility built on his property to store the guns in.
