Kanye West Banned From Haiti Telethon
When a celebrity is blackballed in the entertainment industry, this is how it begins.
Reportedly, troubled singer/producer Kanye West has been banned from the star-studded Haiti Telethon that airs on several networks tomorrow night.
The telethon to raise money for Haiti relief efforts is co-hosted by George Clooney in Hollywood and Wyclef Jean in New York. Many celebrities are expected to attend and show their support for Haiti during the two-hour telecast. But Kanye won’t be among them.
According to Popeater.com via NY Mag:
Kanye West is among the only top stars not invited to appear on tomorrow’s George Clooney–organized telethon for Haiti. “After what he said on the Katrina telethon and the way he behaved at the MTV Video Music Awards, everyone agrees it’s just best that he does not participate,” says a producer. “Kanye has to make everything about himself. He will do anything to steal the spotlight and, well, this night it’s just not about him.”
Kanye is considered a social outcast in Hollywood since selfishly storming the stage and snatching the mic out of country singer Taylor Swift’s hand during the American Music Music Awards last year. Kanye is learning the hard way that being an out-of-control narcissist is not very good for one’s career.

We all know that the katrina situation was different and many of us agreed with what he said, I know I did. I’m sure he wouldn’t be that way now it’s about helping and getting aid, food among many other things to Haiti.

I was set up on a blind date and I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. He picked me up and had to make a stop but the notebook was out in the open. I too hope he does participate. Some ppl won’t donate unless their fav celeb tells them to, sad but true. As far as what happened with Taylor, he did apologize and she accepted case closed. He is human and made a bad judgement call. Don’t we all do that. I did know who Taylor was before all of this and I have said it long ago. “Let them make a vid/song together”. I read that working ppl are upset when they did taxes for ’09′. I got an extra $18 per week because of “The Stim”, on top of bonus money and commissions. My hubby made sure when Our Pres. gave us this money(not in one lump some) that he changed his status from 1 to zero and had them withhold extra money per week so we won’t be in the hole. I did make more money this tax season than last yr., hubby made less than last time. Hubby does have deductions for our medical, dental, property taxes, home improvements, etc. If we break even I will be so happy. We were so close as I mentioned long ago of being the upper middle class. I don’t know what we are now, just ppl greatful we have a J O B to go each day.

Kanye was right in both situations, but there is a time and place for everything. Kanye is like a little child that always has to say whatever thought comes to him at the moment, no matter how inappropriate that moment is. Like Sandra said it’s nacasistic behavior and a constant need to be the center of attention. I wouldn’t trust him on live TV either, not to mention that the pure sight of Kanye on TV would turn a lot of people(YT’s) off from donating to the cause
