Woman Admits HIV Hoax
A Detroit woman has admitted engineering a not-so-elaborate hoax claiming she passed HIV to 500 men. Anyone with half a brain would know that such a thing is impossible. Quick! How many men do you know who contracted HIV from a female? I can think of just one: Magic Johnson (who is probably lying to cover up an alternative lifestyle).
Jackie Braxton, 32, told the Detroit News she does not have AIDS. She said she made up the story and videotaped herself wearing a bandana over her face to educate the public. The only problem is, female-to-male transmission is less than 1% of the total AIDS/HIV cases in the country. So exactly what was she educating the public about?
Naturally, another gossip website that is known for writing false and misleading stories quickly posted Braxton’s video on Wednesday and their gullible readers as well as the media fell for the hoax.
Last year, the same gossip website also posted a video from another clown who claimed to pass HIV to 500 women — same scenario, different gender. That fool was arrested for another hoax involving Gerber baby food.
This is why you will never see this blog re-posting any stories from that other website.
Police picked up Braxton at a college she attends downtown and immediately took her to the city’s health department to be tested for the virus that causes AIDS. The test results are confidential, but Braxton said she does not have HIV. Read More…

It’s very difficult for a woman to transmit the HIV virus to a man…just based upon the physicological aspects (men are LUCKY that way)…

i’m glad this was a hoax, however i can’t help think about people that are really doing this “if i go down, i’m taking a whole lot of folks with me”. it is sad but true that people will take their anger out on others by infecting them.
as for this minstrel, she should have to go and do community service at a hospice or aids care facility. after she witnesses the suffering these people go through she will find a better way to bring about awareness than scaring people to death.

How in the hell did she think this stupid stunt would educate people? The only thing this did was cause panic and could have possibly turned into something dangerous. What if one of her former sex partners believe this mess and came after her?
AIDS is nothing to play with and I think she owes the public an apology for this lack of common sense.

I also always questioned if he really had HIV. He came out during a time when people thought it was only for gay people and he basically became the face of It can happen to anybody. I’ve always said he likely got paid a nice sum of money to say he was +. Yes I know it may sound crazy to some of you but that has always been my thought. And while today people are living with HIV back when he came out they weren’t. No matter the amount of money they had.

Snooty, I love your new pic. Is anyone watching 20/20? It’s sad. The man who pays my salary gave me $100 cash for Christmas. He put it in a card and told me to buy something for myself. That $100 was still in my purse. I went to Family Dollar after work and bought diapers, wipes, flashlights, dust masks, sponges, Pine Sol etc.. I did spend more than the hundred dollars but it didn’t matter. I have a roof over my head and all the food I can eat. My daughter contacted the Director at a Upword Bound progam she attended many yrs. ago. We are collecting donations and my home is the drop off spot and she will drop them off at the school. Our local news channel is having a relief drive on Monday and most ppl don’t have to work Monday so this should be a great success. We have many trucks filling up in my community. I feel so blessed of what I have, but especially blessed that I don’t have to sit back and do nothing. I can’t physically go to Haiti(fear of flying) but helping makes my tears a little less painful.

@iscream HIV/AIDS is still fairly new compared to other diseases.I believe Magic has HIV, you couldn’t pay anyone in 91 to lie on themselves about having it. People live longer each year with it, as medicine improves. Hydeia Broadbent is a couple of years younger than me & was born with HIV & is still alive last I heard. So that’s over 25yrs of living with the virus.
Don’t forget Rae Lewis Thornton, she’s had full blown AIDS since 1991 or so & she’s still alive.
HIV is just strange, some people get exposed to it continuously & don’t contract it, others get exposed to it just once & not only catch it but detiorate quickly. Magic has the funds & the will to live longer & healthier.

My daughter and her fiance’ saw Book of Eli last night and loved it.
I saw this on that “other” site you speak of. Everything on the net gets my o_O until it is verified, point blank.
Women get it easier as our vagina has many open pores and a transformation zone on our cervix makes it a easy target for the virus to get in by seminal fluids. That transformation zone has blood vessels and can easily tear during intercourse. That is why i don’t understand why folks be having rough sex. Hitting the cervix or “beating it up” ain’t cute. You will just be sitting in the Gyn office next month waiting for a script for some type of Antibiotics!!

If positive AND once you are notified they don’t call in the people you had unprotected sex with, they leave that up to the patient and it is optional. That is why you see so many people walking around not knowing their status. When i am drawing blood i make sure i am very careful and treat ALL patients as they were positive and if you are one to be moving and jumping, then your ass need to come back another day to get drawn. The 5 min test is just as accurate as the venous blood. I only do that if the order is for viral loads then i draw but for a screening I can do that test with just a finger stick.

But you cannot base somebody status off of how they looked because Marvelyn Brown is gorgeous and she’s HIV positive.
But I encourage everyone to get tested and know their status and to be careful.

WTH? The movie “Book of Eli” left me bewildered! It didn’t explain anything.
1. Why was America wiped out, did any other countries survive? So many implausible string of events..I don’t have time to name them all.
2. The premise of only one Bible left (in America?) was great…but approximately only 3 scriptures were quoted throughout the entire movie.
3. Excessive bloody senseless violence- didn’t belong in this type of film
4. “Save the white girl”…wait they weren’t any black girls to save anyway
5. With the depressingly pathetic characters, there wasn’t anyone capable or worthy of starting a “new world” that could actually prevent the people from destroying themselves all over again In My Opinion
