MJ’s Doc Officially charged With Involuntary Manslaughter

Dr. Conrad Murray has officially been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of legendary pop singer Michael Jackson. It took this long to bring Murray to justice because the DA’s office doesn’t have much of a case against him.

The DA’s office will have to prove that Murray — even involuntarily — caused the death of Jackson by plying him with the sedative/anesthetic Propofol and other prescription drugs. But the coroner’s report doesn’t support that charge since Jackson frequently self-medicated with a personal pharmacy stash of drugs. Any of those drugs in his body in any combination could have killed him.

According to the criminal complaint, the D.A. alleges Dr. Murray “did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson … in the commission of an unlawful act, not a felony; and in the commission of a lawful act which might have produced death, in an unlawful manner, and without due caution and circumspection.”

Dr. Murray will be arraigned today at 1:30 PM. As we first reported, he will plead not guilty.

Dr. Murray is expected to show up at around 1:00 PM, accompanied by his lawyers and a bail bondsman. Bail should be set at $25,000.

Dr. Murray administered Propofol to Jackson just before he died, and the L.A. County Coroner’s Office has determined Jackson died as a result of acute Propofol intoxication.

If convicted, Dr. Murray faces a maximum of four years in prison.

I feel bad for Dr. ConBAD. He walked into a big ass mess with this one; he doesn’t seem to be grossly negligent…just lax in duties *shrugs*

I think the charge is fair. Of course he didn’t mean to kill MJ, but his negligence certainly contributed to MJs death.

I also think the charge is fair. I mean he will probably never get to practice again so that is a heavy punishment itself.

As with most things I can see both sides and split down the middle. If it was Dr Murray it wld have been somebody else MJ was addicted to drugs IMO and needed help. As a dr though Murray shld have said no but he wanted the $$$$ MJ was willing to pay him.

I wish MJs fam cld have reached him during one of their interventions they had for him.

i don’t agree with the charge. that man KNEW he could kill michael by administering propofol without the necessary equipment to monitor and keep him breathing.

it should have been 2nd degree murder, but i guess they didn’t have a strong enough case with MJ’s history of drug addiction.

it’s about time. i’m w/sugapie. MJ had previous doctors who obviously sat vigil over him at night. this lazy n*** probably was on the phone talking to his honeys while MJ slipped away. if you’re gonna do dirt, do it right! now do the time you lying, stealing drug dealer!! WHO DAT!

Praise God!!! Dr. Murray knew good and well that he should’ve had administered that powerful sedative to Michael. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, but doctors today are so careless sometimes. My sister is a doctor and says the medical profession has gone to hell.

Michael had a lot of “yes men” surrounding him that ultimately did him harm. Dr. Murray wasn’t the only one. Anyone who knew Mike was addicted to drugs and knowingly administered them to him was careless and negligent.

This should not be a hard case. They only have the prove the act… murder and then the intent which will likely be recklessness, negligence and breech of his duty as a medical professional. i am just happy that mj will finally receive justice!

I agree with comment#14…Its very sad, but these are the things that can happen when you have a bunch of “yes men” around you. I think he shouldnt be able to practice anymore, but jail time???

such bullsh.it…I’m sure the Doc refused on many occasions to serve MJ, but unfortunately he let money get the best of him…now because MJ was a greedy drug addict, this man’s career is over (though he is responsible, too)…this is just a waste of time and money, anyways..i bet the case is gonna get thrown out when they realize these charges are a bunch of bull
