Gabrielle Union Covers JET Magazine
Last week I told you about JET Magazine’s redesigned logo and cover. This week’s cover features industry carousel actress Gabrielle Union. Something about the cover caught my eye so I blew it up and I noticed that Gabby’s mascara looked like it was smeared.
Now, I’m not an expert on makeup since I don’t wear any. But is her mascara supposed to look like that?
In the cover story titled GABRIELLE UNION – UNINHIBITED, Gabby talks about dating Dwyane Wade, her biggest fear and what’s next.
On the surface, it seems that everything is just about perfect in Gabrielle Union¹s world. She’s playing a lawyer on a hit TV show; she’s in love with a hot, younger man and she’s a spokesperson for a major skin care company. But the actress says she’s the first to admit that her self-work is nowhere near completed. “There are some things I personally want to improve upon in my own life,” she said. “I’m working on personality and character traits that I know need to be tweaked. So yes, I do want more.” (p. 36)
This issue hits stands Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.

I think she wanted the cover to look like this, it goes with the article. – ( Meaning she speaks in the article about not being perfect, so I think they did a imperfect photo shoot to go with it)

@ therapist…I don’t have any kids either and I did really good this year. Obama signed some sort of bill where full time workes get an extra $400 tax credit. Depending on your employer you either got a little on each paycheck or in a lump sum. I got the lump sum…I’ll see what I can donate to u after my tithes, shopping spree, hair appointment, new mac makeup, valentines dinner with friends at this nice Japanese resturant, and some bills that are due…:)

This chick that was at the tax place is getting back 12 racks! Yes $12,000, i’m nosey so when she started hollering i asked her why and she told me, now i bought a house in Oct 09 and even with that credit I’m still not getting 12 racks. She made like $24,000 + 3kids. She’s going to buy a new charger. But in her defense the children did look as good as she did.

When I was in the 6th grade I tried to curl the front of my hair with a comb. My hair got stuck and I cut it out. I had a bald spot in the front of my head and my mom used to make me wear my hair combed to the side to cover it up

My friends mom works at H&R block and she did mine and she explained to me the tax credit that was last week so I kinda forgot the details but basically if you work full-time and I’m not sure if you have to be single u get it…heck I was just happy it applied to me

A gift is a gift, but I don’t want a vacuum on my bday or anniversary. I do love the “just because gifts”. When hubby pics up dinner it’s a gift to me because I didn’t expect it and I don’t have to cook.

@ Brown, I tried to do the lines in the eyebrow thing freshman year of high school, I cut one off and then shaved the other one and all that led to me getting them tatted because they never grew back correctly.

Thank you sis. I needed to e-hear those encouraging words. I understand couples go thru and have their issues however the energy spent in trying to “start something new” with someone else, should be directed at repairing whatever is wrong and/or broken in the relationship. I feel people nowadays, both male and female, lack the motivation in making relationships work especially when they hit a bump in road. Seems easier to fill whatever void there is. Multi-tasking but does that make sense??

Threading feels weird,sometimes feels like a couple of quick pinches but it not bad at all and looks amazing if done right. The shape is more accurate and defined than waxing.
It’s also good for people that breakout with waxing. It doesn’t irritate the skin. If you can, find someone that is either Persian or Arabic to do it since it originally is from those cultures. Juanita or Jane, IMO don’t do as good of a job in my area

I do threading as well. It lasts longer and after a while you get used to the pinching feeling. The lady that does mine is Turkish…I love her to death. I never know what she is saying to me when she is working on my brows, I just nod and smile and hand her $10…

I agree with you Texarican. You really do have to find some one who is Arabic or even East Indian to have threading done right. I had never had it done until I went to Qatar. They did a really great job and then I had it done in a shop here and it was not the business.

Now we don’t do gifts we just stay home and he cooks his famous steak and lobster dinner for me and the boys, we have some wine and go to bed.

I told him that I felt that the longer we are together, the less we have been “making a big deal” about “us” and it is causing us to grow into more of a roomate/buddy relationship rather than a romantic one. Some might say that is alright but this is my second marriage and I know what happens when a marriage turns in a roomate situation instead of a husband/wife one.

Tell me about it, but it is me who is doing the bad. Hubby wants to be up under me all the time and I just want my space. I love him to death but we don’t need to be in the same room all night long hugging. I like my shows and he likes his. I see nothing wrong w/ doing our own thing and meeting back up in the bedroom later.
We are working on it and last night he stayed in the room to watch basketball while I watched survivor in the living room. It was a joy for me, but he was a little sad about it. I’m trying to understand him but I admit I have a long way to go..

I know that feeling ALL too well! The last relationship I was in, I was the only one initating everything- dinner, night on the town, vacations, etc. But on his end, nothing was reciprocated. Christmas, Valentine’s Day, New Year’s, my birthday; it was all “just another day” to him. He didn’t even acknowledge them. I found out a couple of months later it was because he was “community dick” and didn’t have any money or anything ELSE left for that matter. And he considered me the main chick!! Needless to say, I bounced.

Because I love what we have.. Its really special.. And I can honestly say, I’ve never been soo happy with someone before. I’ve never had someone care about me soo much before.. I cant say what we have wont grow because I think it will.. I trully think he is my life partner, but sometimes we have our issues. Just last week he didnt want a girlfriend, and now he’s on me like white on rice.. IDK, I think we both have more growing to do before we can actually be “in love”.. But i’ll keep you posted
I get mine done at the Lynnhaven mall… There is a kiosk over by American Eagle (i think). An Asian family runs it and they do a great job. There is also a kiosk in the Pembroke mall (over by the tollhouse cookie shop) but I never went to that one a middle eastern family runs that one.
